The sawed-off mag can show up from the grenade launcher second tier upgrade, the ammo racks third tier upgrades, and as far as I have seen those are the two ways to get that tuning into your rotation
This works much better with the shotgun since it comes with multiple bullets from level 0. I also think the effects from your weapon and your drone's weapon can stack for a x9 damage boost. Hellspitter barrel is the best option here with the 360 degree firing update since it gets more shots(x2, x4) and you can make it so the drone is 'inside' the boss and all the shots hit while with orbital shots you *might* be able to hit 3 times if you keep the drone at a set distance from the boss.
You do NOT want a carbine with a 1 mag size. The gun literally stops working. It will try to shoot and count as shooting, you will see a small ring appear at the tip of the barrel, but nothing fires. It does still trigger last bullet/on reload effects. But yeah, a 1 mag size breaks the Carbine.
I was thinking of building of building a pulse rifle for the drone with chevron charm to level 2 asap (so that it will buff my damage early) with hellspitter, cryo mag, containment field, flame underbarrel, brass knuckle grip, stock i dunno what matters... main thing is everything that slows and that early damage buff to me... not sure if anyone has tried that to see if that slows enough to make the final boss more doable...
Good thing you didnt get the mag size on that optical carbine all the way to 1. It is bugged atm. If you happen to get the mag size to 1 it will stop shooting but it will still proc reload bonuses like grenade synergy, chainsaw blades etc. Its not a visual bug either. I made 2 for farming credit purpose and gave one to my drone. Credit farm still works but grenade(x2) alone couldnt keep up with the swarm.
For farming there are some sick builds that can give >40 boss tokens from a single kill: heart charm, sucker grip, splitter mag, helix barrel, containment field, jut stock, energy blaster and when you get the upgrade that increases collection range until reload, fire all your shots except 1 and just stop firing your main weapon.

@@kobisjeruk I use a very similar build for both since i tend to run out of both credits and resources at about the same time and get 15-30k per run just by focusing on the +credit upgrades. The real mvp on this build is the resource sucking power of the grip and the ability of the energy blaster to keep up with everything by itself.
Wouldn't Shotgun + Splitting Bullets + the bottom path of Containment Field + the Helix Barrel be crazy? The bottom path of Containment Field relies on bullets bouncing off the edges, so wouldn't it be crazy to just have a ludicrous amount of bullets and a decent amount of piercing?
You should try these guns as recourse guns. Find some big enemies when your bubble and halo is filled, while having splitter mag at bottom 3. upgrade, then stop firing while hitting enemies with what you have floating around. Have gotten my recourse drop rate up to 5000%+, getting 50+ boss drop. :) Also help having sucker grip at to 3. upgrade. Then you don't have to run around, as your collection range goes through the roof.
@@fibodegjenn4411 Nah, this works best with the expensive gun because the bullets stay for longer but it's rather brutal at the beginning. Energy blaster helps a lot by killing stuff, then the last heart charm update makes it so flying experience pretty much destroys everything.

the reduction in damage for doubling shouldn't be over 1/2 of your initial damage, it makes the upgrade weaker for 2 bullets on the same enemy.

no, game lag will make the loot bin spin slower. try spinning one in the late game when bullet hell is active.

I think you actually want the reverse. Put your huge dps gun on the drone, then put all the slow effects on your gun

Pulse rifle is the optimal gun for this, as it has the most pen.
