Definitely should not have flames at each end. Suspect timing belt snapped or slipped, lads school boy error after it’s stood a minimum check is the belt for fatigue or even rotten ! Perhaps have John Astley on the compactor he can practice on the Sapphire he’s just killed ! 😂
Belt snapped as others said when it stopped I thought from that wasnt gonna start again sounded like belt went an valves touched u can hear it spinning over different No compression noise Either that or its blown decomp plate or gasket around fire rings Check compression An pull belt cover off If its bent valves u can use a blacktop head on the st block with thicker gasket with out using decomp plate You can get around 300bhp on this set up safely
You can use a rs turbo exhaust manifold with a adaptor on zetec head Also there is a adaptor plate so u can use a 20v turbo inlet if u use correst one it will face wright way for rwd
I thought the belt had broken when it started , but now I’m 99% sure the timings jumped a tooth or 2 cos of the back fire and it winds over like the timings out 😮,,, gutted for you boys !!!!

The timing belt snapped at first start, and the engine no longer has compression as valves are bent and jammed in the followers. Engine is probably toast.

She started with a bang 😢. Think you might want to check the cambelt timing sounds out. Not too sound mean but first thing you do is check an engine that hasn't run for year's is the belt after all its made of rubber. You might be lucky and it's only jumped a few teeth. Idk good luck lads 👍

Fresh oil in and plugs out , turn it by hand a good few times to lubricate the bores etc , that belt may have slipped or snapped , also the thumping noise could be a snapped piston ring , letting compression into the block 😮, NEVER rev a dormant engine from cold / long stand , bit surprised at john A for that , hope it's not terminal 😢 the oil scraper rings are fragile in those engines 😮😢 I was shouting at the screen when you kept turning it over after it stopped 😂🙈🙈🙈
rename /rebadge and respray it metalic purple that old banger . Then get some old bloke like the homeless dude who lives in the office with a sheet of sandpaper to rough it up a bit/ making it the 21st Century Ford Gt Special Sheet Edition Gansta Stylie

JOHN ASHLEY MECHANIC😅😅😅😅 I Think you will find the timing belt has jumped a few teeth or even snapped,or a cam pulley /tensioner has come loose it has no compression whatsoever now Ashley aint got a scooby you can hear something clanging either under cam or cam belt cover one of the 1st things you do is put a cam belt KIT on any engine swap by someone competent cant believe jon ashley didnt hear the noise it made wen it died and the fact that wen u were trying to re start it had lost its compression GOOD LUCK please dont hide wat happened HONESTY PLEASE!!!PS I THINK JON ASHLEY SHOULD WEAR A COWBOY HAT 😂😂😂
Take the head of now boys replace bent valves decoke good ones and regrind all with fine paste I think the followers are shimmed not hydraulic so a bit of a pain to set up get it ported and put sum cams in it as well boyz!!! let lil mark do it he loves his engines and is eager to learn nice simple engine 4 him to learn on ,or let Jon ashley earn ANOTHER cow boy hat 😢😢😊😊
Nothing has slipped timing. What kind of hilly billy talks that. Boys are there slipping in fuel through inlet, its got knackerd 20 yr old spark plugs and using few shagged jump packs. Of course theres going to be inconsistencies sound wise. Well done boys anyway. Loving build

Defo noticed a noise when it stopped , either belt has snapped or slipped and now your gonna have a bent valve or 2 or 10
Bit late as you have got cables throu bulkhead but it is easier to put wiring with plugs throu first and then the single wires.

You should put the plugs in first then you've got more room, then put the rest of the wires through.
