    Dan your car looks spectacular. I copied what you did to some degree on my Smart. The difference was I raised mine 2 inches and used your fender flares. Then I bought new BYT 3 lug roadster matte black/red rims and fitted 205/60R15's under it. I know lowering a car helps handling but I like a taller car. Thank you for the inspiration.

    Hey Dan, are those universal fender flares?

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, I found them on Amazon and wish.com
      Universal fender flares. I have a link in the description on most of my videos.

    Do they rub especially in the turns after H&R lowering springs? Thanks.

    • @HandyDan

      I had 17x8, ET32 with 19mm spacer/adapter for 5x122 bolt pattern with H&R Sport lowering springs, the tires poked past the body, and I had to trim the fenders and add flares. With narrower wheels and no spacers, I think you'll be fine.

      I do have some Amazon links in a couple of the early videos, when the car was silver. I don't get any compensation from the links but I put them there to help.

      I made the front splitter and all of the aero kit from sheet plastic. The flares are online, wish.com or Amazon. I have a link in the Drop it like it's Hor video comments.
      Search Amazon for 81mm flares.

    Hi dan love your transformation. How much in total would a full body kit cost including wheels? Thanks

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  2 года назад

      I bought the wide body kit from Duraflex the GT300, it's around $1,800 un painted and needs to be fitted to the car.

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  2 года назад

      Wheels will not come easy, with the wide body kit you need custom offsets. I have the 3 lug to 5 lug conversion that adds 19mm and my rims are 17x9 with ET-45

    nice car, did it affect your ride quality? installed 17" rims on my smart a week ago i felt that the car is a bit slower but who cares it looks nice but want to add the H&R springs how does it feel driving?

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  3 года назад

      Firstly thanks 😊, well sometime looks are important so the springs really helped cornering and handling, but for the ride. It's like a go cart and feels every single crack in the road like it's a pothole but still worth it!
      As for 17" rims... yes larger rims slow you down, it's the extra weight farther out on the radius.

    • @kylecline

      @@HandyDan One of the main complaints I hear about the car is how highway driving can be hard due to how easily it’s blown around. Do you feel this helps a fair amount with that due to it being a bit more planted?

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  Год назад +1

      @Kyle Cline The springs probably didn't eliminate the blow around, but I will say my aero kit surely does. I can drive a lot more steadily than stock, if a gust comes along it doesn't toss the car like a stock Smart. So the front splitter is the best way to reduce wind effects along with lowering springs 😊

    👌💪 the problem with the smart is that they don't come standard. In my case, if I had one, I would like it to be offroad style.

      Lol, lookup off road Smartcar 🤣 plenty of them!

    • @thematrixerror
      @thematrixerror 2 года назад

      It is not that there is more offroad, it is the idea that someone like me can come up with. in my case I have an idea with a scion x to upload it and do it offroad style. what I like is the style that in my case the holes in the streets and that do not bother so much. I personally have a 2001 honda crv generation 1 and the only thing I don't like is the automatic.

    Does anybody know offhand what the largest 17" wheel and tire combo that can fit front and rear without rubbing (even in hard turns) with H&R lowering springs installed (sport kit which lowers like .7" front and 1.2" in back)? This would be for a 2013 Fortwo Passion Coupe facelift model.
    Also interested in a possible staggered set depending what you all recommend. I did a search but couldn't locate the information that I needed. I want the look of slightly past the stock fender in the rear (not enough to get pulled over), and out to the fender lip in front. Thanks.

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  Год назад

      Stock has 15" rims, front 155/60-15 on 15x4 😆
      and rear 175/55-15 on 15x4.5 😆
      Those are around 22.5" diameter.
      If you go 17x6 with 145/55-17 I think you might be ok.
