Copy Text from an Image Using the Windows Snipping Tool OCR Feature

This feature should now be in the retail versions of Windows 11 as well.
The latest update to the Windows 11 Snipping Tool has the ability to scan text from images using AI and then allow you to copy it to the clipboard so you can then paste it into other applications. You can use this OCR feature to copy text from websites, photos, PDFs and other documents that have text that is not selectable.

I have Edition Windows 11 Home - Version 22H2 - Installed on 10/2/2023 - and it works just like yours, well, I didn't try redaction, but it"s there. Too cool. Thanks so much....JT

I've been using a text OCR online conversion which can be a little hit/miss, but sufficient. I tested what you showed and I love it. Not one error. That may not be the case all the time but, it's definitely better. Thanks so much...JT

dang. love this an 3 or 4 other features, but no way im switching to this windows 11 android toddler interface. They have till the end of windows 10 support to capitulate on 11, windows 8. style... or im taking the plunge and switching to linux... F this S... first time I actually liked using windows since 2000/XP and they go and F it up. I'm actually kinda glad, I should have ditched them long ago... Microsoft is poison... thanks for the kick in the rear I needed Microsoft.
