No matter what I do, I can't get my Photos storage on my phone under 15 GB. After spending over 2 hours on the phone with Apple Support, they told me there's nothing they can do for me. All the optimizations are turned on and enabled, but my phone won't offload any of the photos to the cloud. So frustrating.
From what I have been told is as long as you have purchased enough iCloud storage like 200GB per month and let’s say your iPhone has 128GB of internal storage as mine does and the total storage used from music, photos, apps, etc is 50GB and your photos take up 15GB of that 50GB being used then IOS sees this as a non issue and will not need to optimize things since you are in no dire need for more room. This is how it was explained to me.
No matter how much i delete stuff, iPhone just raises the "other" storage . I cleared 5GB...Within a week my iPhone storage was full again . I dont even have apps anymore. And I cant even remove my images from my iPhone, when i try it just disconnects the device from the PC
U might wanna take ur phone to a repair guy who can copy your data from your chip put it on one with more storage and put it back into your phone. Or just get a new phone.

Another thing that helps and is much simpler ==> Update your iPhone to the latest version. I had 60GB of System Data and now it has come to 8GB. All the best
I found a major way to clear out a ton of storage. I had about 90 GB used by iOS then I deleted Apple Music when I went to Spotify, and after I deleted it, it dropped down to a little over 9GB's of storage. Apple Music is the biggest issue with storage, at least so i have discovered thus far.
So far I’ve deleted 100 over vids but the avail storage remains the same! Also, when I delete them in the album or in the Recently Deleted, it always have this glitch whereby the media will recover on its own. I can’t use most of the messaging apps and camera due to insufficient storage 😢
I get the idea of iCloud (I just paid for it, and it’s great!). However, my phone is STILL telling me that I don’t have enough storage. I’m so confused. Photos are by far the biggest storage taker-upper, and so I should have no storage problems. However it’s not working out like that. Whenever I try to look at pictures now, it shows me the really low quality version (like I expected) but it won’t download a better version of the picture when I tap on the picture. It says “this phone doesn’t have enough disk space to download a better quality version of this photo”. I’m really confused about this.
Apple storage space optimization sucks ass. Long story short, it’s penny pitching tactics to withhold storage space and make you pay for ICloud. Apple CEO is waiting for a true media uproar before significantly increasing the standard storage space from 64 gigs to 1 terabyte. Until then, expect frequent glitches due to your phone running low memory.
I haven’t watched the video, but I see people are having trouble so here’s a tip Go into photos Go in albums Scroll down Go into recently deleted Now check to see if it’s stuff you don’t want Then select all stuff you don’t want Delete delete the deleted stuff The stuff stays for 30 days I think and will delete delete after I’m pretty sure I hope the tip works

YES... it does. How do I know? I just spent over 2 hours on the phone with Apple support. If you delete the photo in the library of the Photos app on your iPhone, it does also delete it in iCloud. The only way to avoid this is to save the photo in a separate location in your iCloud outside of the Photos library.
@@megajeremy3000 That was my question to Apple! They said it's just meant to mirror your devices but not act as pure cloud storage. Frustrating. iCloud is the only cloud storage I've ever had that doesn't allow me to manually choose to offload files to the cloud. You are completely at the whim of the software as to what gets offloaded (if anything in my case).

For example, when running low on SSD, taking 100Gb say and copying it up to the iCloud, then seeing that it’s safely there, delete it from your device? 7:54 best solution for me since I travel a lot is to have a high quality point and shoot camera that fits in my pocket. That way, I don’t need to catch too much photos in my iphone. Only selfies perhaps as I can’t find any camera, which has a selfie capability as iphone (i.e. iphone focuses you and your background in a selfie while camera focuses only you and usually blurs your background when you selfie, which is annoying because the main reason for a selfie is for you to brag about you being in that place by getting evidence that you’ve been in that place without asking anybody to take a picture of you). Never found a point and shoot camera with this functionality unfortunately.
