- The light control module manages the headlight and turn signal function in all 200-2006 X5 vehicles. The module is prone to failure, especially in vehicles with the notorious sunroof drain leak that causes it to short out. Classis symptoms of a damaged LCM are: headlight(s) stay on after the vehicle is shut off and/or malfunctioning turn signals. This video gives detailed step by step instructions on removing the LCM unit from a 2005 X5.
