Adding the SSD really did help speed up the performance, however I struggled to run even the most basic games like Plants Vs Zombies as the soldered on 1Ghz processor really struggles to keep up nowadays. Such a shame that newer laptops don't have socketed CPU's anymore
Hey, I got this laptop (4GB RAM - 1.65 GHz W win 7) for my grandmom for some films and it's lagging on 720P, can I try win 8 ? or is there something to do for this problem?
Hi there, These is a useful google Chrome extension called H. 264ify. This stoppes RUclips using the VP9 codex. Also, try using Linux mint, it's super lightweight and will boost overall system performance, also get a cheap 256 gb ssd👍
I don't have a specific Asus image but if you would like a generic image I recommend using a tool called Rufus. Rufus allows you to download Windows 11 - 7 iso files and it will also turn them into a bootable USB. Link to Rufus: rufus.ie/en/ Download the Rufus 3.21 file and then open it up. It doesn't need to install. Then plug in a USB drive that has no important data. Then next to the select button there should be a drop down arrow, change this to download. Then click download and select windows 7 and whatever version you need. If the download arrow isn't there, you may need to change the settings in rufus to check for beta updates.👍
In my laptop, general use was a bit faster, however the low powered 1Ghz AMD processor maxes out at 100% utilisation around the same time the HDD does, so the SDD makes a small difference.
No CPU upgrades are available for this laptop, as the cpu is soldered on. Unfortunatly, adding an SSD didn't really improve the performance as the crap soldered on 1GHz CPU is slower than the HDD. So no, adding the SSD didn't make much difference.

I have the same laptop. The hinge is snapped, and it doesn't charge or doesn't turn on at all. I just have replaced the charging port, and now it doesn't even receive power. Any help?
For your hinge problem, if you have any hot glue, I recommend heating some up with a heat gun or hair dryer until its molten over the hinge where the screws don't screw in anymore. As for the no power issue, have you checked the charger with a multimeter or with another laptop? If the charger is fine you should check that the 19v is reaching the motherboard with a multimeter. If it is you probably have a more serious problem. Also make sure you check other basic things like making sure that the RAM is seated correctly👍
@@CaptainJRW I found some debris on one of the chips, and we don't have a multi meter. I told my dad about this multi meter, but I'm not a power technician. The cable was chewed by my rabbit a very long time ago, but I believe it Works fine, because it worked a long time ago. The Ram is in, but there is no power at all. The high-pitched sound disappeared when I changed the charging port. Maybe the connector is broken, or the motherboard is toast. My dad had a idea about hot glue the hinge, but it turned out we didn't need it, because the laptop doesn't turn on anymore. I was planning to recover the HDD and install Windows 7. But that is not working and my hope is low. I hope something gets done. Thank you for the reply!
If the charging cable was chewed I might consider picking up a replacement they are only about 10 quid on ebay, some debris on one of the chips shouldn't cause any issues as long as it wasn't metal.
@@CaptainJRW I found an Original one on a site that I can't remember, which is £25. Quite expensive, but I want it to last. It was compared to My old charger, and confirm, thats the right one.
If you have the 1GHz model it can be pretty slow with windows 10, I would suggest not using windows 7 due to security risks as the operating system hasn't been supported for over 3 years. If you were to use the laptop I would reccomend Linux mint XFCF as an operating system.
RUclips is takin its sweet time to process the video, it should be in 1080p soon.
Can you set a later start time for when it goes public.
Might give it time to finish processing?
@@Livebirdboxcatterall I might have to set as a premiere to set a time to start once it has published.
You should try and run some games on it and see if the performance has improved.

Can we upgrade processor AMD to i5
Hi, unfortunately the processer is soldered onto this board so no CPU upgrades are possible.
Can we change motherboard of this laptop
Yes, Motherboard can be changed, just ensure that the new one is the same dimensions as the old one if looking for one with a higher clock speed!👍
How we can increase the clock speed..
Use Brazos Tweeker To Increase Processor Speed.
