I know it wasn't the focus of your video but thank you for showing Royal TSX! I found it through your video and immediately got it! Been looking for such a solution for a while now and I'm really happy with it :)
Thank you sir! Huge FAN of your channel & congrats on just passing 100K! Debating I’d want to replace my 7820 with a new UNAS-Pro from ubiquiti. Not sure how I feel about the missing NFS support but I’m sure that’ll come later.
@@johnstech7 Thanks man! Yeah, personally I'd wait for a few updates to see what path they're gonna take with it. But honestly, for $499, the price isn't bad as is if you only need an SMB share.
I really dig your server rack setup. I'm hoping to build a home server of my own. I don't do anything intensive or complicated. I do run a baby emby server (Just off a free thinkpad and a extrnal 10TB HDD). But I'd love to one day have an awesome setup like yours RAID redundancies, UPS, tiered storage and everything. So sweet bro, 10/10.
Currently building out a homelab rack myself now that I finally have some space to work with, love seeing your setup! It gave me a lot of good ideas to implement. Great video!!
i bought that same rack as you've got and used it for a while :) i recently upgraded to a full 44U Hammond enclosed rack that used to house the fingerprinting setup for a cop station - it even has a hole cut out in one side for the mugshot camera, they were giving it away so i upgraded - but i still have that one you've got, kept it cause its just nice. Keep it going man, looks great!
The proliants have over the years gotten quieter and quieter. Initial boot up is still fairly noisy but once things settles down everything is pretty slow and quiet.
@@johnstech7 You haven't really lived until you sleep with some VA Linux servers in your room and that bright blue LED illuminates the entire corner, haha!! Those old fans only had one speed: on. 🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😅😅😅 Good times! And yes, the price of free is always excellent!!! :D
Thank you! I’ll see if I can look into those tools! If I can get the fan speed under control, I’ll be able to remove the Precision 7820 and save 4-5U of space!!
those HP gen9 servers are getting dirt cheap now, they're a great bargain because they're good servers and with the E4 cpu's they're actually quite efficient. Love my dl360 g9 as a proxmox box.
Very nice setup, man! I just got into the used enterprise stuff with an R720, and I'm loving it so far. I'm just wondering how many watts each server uses?
Are you into ITX pc builds? super fun to build if you like that form factor, thought that since a lot of smaller home servers compliment the form factor

Cool setup! I too have things in my rack that aren't even on simply because they look good haha

This is what I needed to hear! I need to stop the gear acquisition syndrome 😂
algorithm brought me here, great video!
Thank you! Welcome to my channel!! Feel free to leave any feedback and I’ll look into it for my next vid!
Great setup, you've crammed a lot into that rack. Love the Dell PCs for future use haha
Hahaha thanks!! Honestly the micro PCs can probably replace the Precision 7820 (with the exception of my TrueNAS VM on there)
That rack is very economically setup. Nice one!
Thank you sir!! Thanks for your support 🤝🏾🫡
I love the way the 14th gen PowerEdge looks with the honeycomb bezel.
Just found your channel and subscribed, I wish you the best success with it
Haha thank you for your support!!
Your setup is awesome. I cannot wait until you release more videos.
More content coming soon!! Thanks for supporting the channel!

Thank you for your support! I started with a EdgeRouter & dell micro PC last year. 🤝🏾

I’m glad I was able to inspire you with your own setup! Feel free to reach out if I can help!

Honestly suprised on my end. I had an R540 a while back and it wasn't this quiet.

We just decommissioned some old 380 gen 3s and gen 4s and they are loud. They are workhorses though.
Oh wow, I guess it depends on the spec then. Mine aren’t loud over here with Proxmox 😂 I just cant sleep with the main server on for sure lol
Cool homelab setup!
Thank you for your support!! 🫡
Nice setup! For the loud Dell fans, have a look at the Dell Open Manage BMC Utility or ipmitool

your rack is great! It gets the job done without being too over the top like some other RUclipsrs
Thank you! I’m trying so hard to not get a bigger one hahaha
@@johnstech7 get a bigger one ;)
SIGHHHH
Love the two Dell MFFs. I have six of those. Cool rack!
Noiceeee! Thank you!
very nice!

I noticed! How are your noise levels on the 1U DL360? I might consider getting one of those
That's a nice setup bruv
Thank you!!
Nice setup
Thank you!
Nice bro ! Subbed
Thanks for subscribing, I appreciate it!!!
nice setup bro🔥
Thank you!!
Whats up John, nice setup. What type of rack is that?
Hi there, thanks for watching! Rack is attached below and it is the 12U version.

What dashboard are you using please? It looks mint and has everything organised and presented in a way I find extremely appealing.
The UniFi Dashboard?
@@johnstech7 It is Royal TS.
Very nice setup, man! I just got into the used enterprise stuff with an R720, and I'm loving it so far. I'm just wondering how many watts each server uses?
depends entirely on your setup
My 730 with 2x xeon 1630L V3s with 24x SSD uses 90 watts on idle
UPS is estimating ~350W for my entire setup. I’m not totally sure how much each server uses.
Thank you for supporting the channel! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video!! Congrats on the R720! You’ll love Dell in general.
Love it 😊
Thank you! 😊

I’ve thought about it but haven’t started anything yet!
good vid
Thank you!
How did you setup 9.9.9.9 on the UDM?
It’s on the Internet page in the desktop admin UI under the IPv4 section!
How do you live with the fan noise from the Dell server? Mine are in the garage and still annoy me 😂
The R740xd is off most of the time 🤣😂😂
Let me know if you need any firmware / bios for the dl380 g9 :)
Will do!
what rack is that?

🤣 ;)

I'll take this into consideration for the next video! Thanks for watching and leaving some feedback!!
