Thanks a lot man. The difference between "split button - sequence copying" and "job button - pattern copying" really made a big difference for me. I never figured that out before. Cheers!!
These videos have been so useful. I have shared your channel to the RM1X support group on Facebook. I can't wait to share what I've been doing. You've saved me so much frustration and procrastination! Regards
This may be a stupid question, but how do you delete full patters (without doing factory reset) in the user section? So far I can only do this by finding each sound one by one, but if multiple instruments have been used I’m finding it impossible to delete.
I have a stupid question (it drives me crazy). How to play sections so that I dont have to hit a new section in time with the beat at the end of last measure of a previous section? I want to hit section B while Section A is playing and have the B wait for the A to come to its end (not starting B immediately in the middle of A). Many many thanks!
If there is one thing that could have been better on the RM1X it is the idea behind the Copy function, while it is actually named SPLIT. I did not know this until i saw your video, it has frustrated me so many times..
It‘s a complex machine and a lot of things have been done right, but I fully agree with you, the naming „split“ isn‘t user friendly and intuitive for what it does.
@@debrixlive Indeed it is just the ambiguity of the naming. And the Copy function itself is still cool and quite unique as i did not see this on other synths or workstations. I think of Copy as a symbolic link and take the Split as a hardcopy, more a computing idea but it works for me.
Sooo .. if I understood correctly: In Ableton Live terms, a Phrase is a Clip and a Section is a Scene, where you can have any combination of Phrases aka Clips at once. Which makes the RM1x an absolute monster of a sequencer as you can mix and mash everything together.
If I switch to another section within my style/pattern the section-switch occurs immediately. Is there any setting which lets the rm1x wait for the finish of the current section before moving to the next section? Thanks for your help! 🙂
Hi! Thanks for your great tutorials. Is there a way to include mutes in a new section so as to create intros, breaks etc? The mute function seems global throughout the different sections. Or should you just turn a track off to “no phrase” if you want to mute and unmute via section changes? Any reply will be greatly appreciated!
And also, I'm a bit confused as to how patterns and phrases are sometimes different measures, is a new phrase in a 4 measure pattern always recorded as 4 measure phrase? Sometimes I have a 4 measure phrase somehow running in a 1 measure pattern and I don't understand how it's possible.. haha sorry if this is confusing
@@RH-sp9zd Mutes are decoupled from Sections (unlike how it works on the Dikitakt e.g.). So you have to go via adjusting phrases. Further if you want to learn more about measures and phrases, checkout the following video: ruclips.net/video/f6n3ij--xWk/видео.html

@@joebroohead This should be possible through job functions on phrases.

Did you try setting Utility/System Pattern Quantize from 1/16 to 1?

Yes a phrase would be like a MIDI clip, a section like a scene of MIDI clips. Nice comparison :) Thanks.
great demo thanks,

Try changing the pattern quantize from 1/16 to 1 in the utility menu. It would make your section start after the bar finished.
@@debrixlive you're the best! This was exactly the setting I was searching for!
Hi great tutorial! I'm trying to follow every single steps showing in the video but my yamaha is not copying the pattern do you have any suggestions ?
