@@AdamsOlympia I‘m an Elektron user myself for many years and do feel the same. I think it all gets back to the idea of early 90s tracker programs, which both the RM1X and Elektron sequencer devices are kind of derivatives of.

@@andersmaarleveld4029 I’m not sure if I understand your question the right way. With saving you mean sending out a program or bank change to the Virus TI, so that the TI‘s sound changes?

@@debrixlive thank you for your reply. It's hard for me to formulate the problem clearly. I ll try again: I want to create sequences in the rm1x. Those should be able to play the 16 multitimbral midi tracks on the virus. Only as far as I know the virus does not have an option to safe the data of all tracks/voices and parameters all at once. Now... Online I have discovered that there is a way within the rm1x to use the voice part of the sequencer to control your external midi synth. Here is a copy of the description of the procedure: Select the track that's assigned to the MIDI channel of the sound module you're setting the Program for. 3. Press the Voice button. Make sure "1: Bank" is set to anything other than "*** ***". It doesn't matter what this is set to as long as it's not "*** ***". Set "2: PGM" to the number of the Program that you want the sound module to go to. I've found that I have to set the RM1x to the number 1 higher than the Program number of my sound module. So, for instance, if I want the sound module to go to Program 8, I have to set "2: PGM" to 009. Don't worry about the words underneath the Program number. The number is the only important thing. Only now when I tried it it did not work. I never got to control the virus, no reacting at all. and... I ran into a glitch (tha the author warned about) it's a bug that changes things randomly. What I hoped for is that: because of how the rm1x is programmed, it would save the data in these voice patches while creating the user styles. And could therefore recover the sounds in the virus specific to the style/pattern and trax. All this to make it possible to load and switch sequences created in te rm1x to play on the virus. I really hope this was clear. I really want to make this work. Thank you

@@andersmaarleveld4029 I hope I get what you mean and to better understand the setup, can you tell me if you use the Multimode or Sequencer mode? In Multimode for example you can save your TI patches on 16 slots, that each of them need to get their individual MIDI channel configured. Those you can play on the RM1X per voice then. Also I’m wondering if you see the „note sign“ on the TI when you play the voices on the RM1X to ensure there is any MIDI being transmitted.

@@debrixlive hi. Thank you for your reaction. I used the sequence mode on the virus ti so far. The machine is new to me. So I have not yet tried out the multimode. I feel motivated to now try it in multimode. I hope to get further with that. At this moment I am not able to test it. I will get into it tomorrow evening(dutch time,) I ll dve into it with the manual on the side. I ll share my experience once I know more. I do know that the virus is getting midi...

@@andersmaarleveld4029 Sure, please let us know. Just in short (as I have a TI myself): In Sequencer mode you reference to existing patches and you can play them on MIDI channels 1-16. If you‘re changing and saving a patch, you also change the original patch. In Multimode if you load patches and change them, you save the current one into the multimode and the original patch is unchanged (unless explicitly selected to overwrite the original patch). Just ensure to configure Midi channels in this mode.

(PLZ 768xx) Heute kam meine günstige rm1x zu mir, die bisschen liebe braucht. So bin auf dein Tutorial gestoßen

@@VideoJunkXXL Bin aus Berlin. Ach dann auf jeden Fall viel Spaß mit der RM1X. Hat seinen eigenen Charakter sowohl im Workflow als auch im Sound. Macht richtig Laune.

@@MrZGypsy Yes. The RM1X is capable of factory samples only. So all you hear is stock sounds with just limited sound shaping applied.

@@debrixlive yeah but it still doesn't work because the sequence stops if you want to move go the next measure to add extra tones from a preset . Like no playback while moving to the next measure. The only way is by doing overdub i.e. playing live with the keys for hitting different tones within preset

It's got more jobs that are numbered differently, but it's pretty much the same idea. That and it also muuuuch more suitable for live performing, plus you can make more elaborate arrangements on it.

The disk is for saving your sounds and songs. If you don’t need that, you can go without.

It usually requires to soldier a new tactile switch. Best is to find a synth repair center if you don’t feel comfortable soldering.

No, not yet. One can get those taktile switches for a rather low price and soldiering them is not that hard (simple through-hole soldering). The main problem however are these many screws and little parts, which makes it very time consuming. I once started the initiative to repair them, but found it being too much time to invest and probably would request a company for it at one point.

Hi, did you try factory resetting the RM1X? Do other devices receive the transport control start command when you plug the midi cables of the RM1X into them?
