    Stop wondering - and get one right now. --- I am 68 years old and got my ISO-BOW about 6 months ago. I use it every day and now have a better body shape than a majority (YES majority) of men in their twenties!

    you can thread loop bands through the handle, if you have more than one you can thread them together, you can put them over the top of a door, close it and do pull ups, versatile piece of kit

    I think the biggest bang for your bug will always be the DIY Suspension Trainer Matt showed us in an older video. Just some PVC pipe and two or three straps out of a hardware store and you are good to go. I am doing ALL my pullups, rows, curls, dips, pushups, triceps work, core-training, glute/hamstring exercises AND isometric exercises with that DIY ST, which cost me 9$.

    I've had a few and given away some to friends, coworkers. You're on point with your review of this product. I bring this to the gym for after workout stretching and use it whenever I need to release the tension and soreness in my muscles. It's great for travel and small quick isometric workouts on the fly. I highly recommend it too!!

    Spreading pressure is for back and shoulders. Compressing the handles (crossing the arms) is for chest. You can twist the IsoBow to shorten the distance between the handles.

    Hey Matt. Watched your videos on ab wheel roll outs and your advice on keeping a posterior tilt and keeping weight on your hands and pulling back with your arms and core changed the exercise for me. So much more intense Great advice as always. Appreciate what you do. Changing people's lives for the better God bless

    Hi Matt, look.... you escaped the equipment and the weights a long time ago now.. even giving an explanation on your catchphrase
    “ be fit, live free” as in freedom of equipment training anywhere etc this isn’t a knock on what you do, your grip and take on bodyweight calisthenics is refreshing and brilliant! Sadly I am old enough to have used the bullworker Mk1 & 2! and yes it did work... in an ironworks where I was an apprentice Everyman and his dog had one! Everyone thinks the latest gadget is the one and drops what really works!
    As you well know, all Calisthenic exercise can be replaced by weights.. so weights became the must have!
    It’s the same in isometrics!! “Be fit, live free” is exactly what you should be doing! Don’t stray off the path grasshopper!! Lol I had the privilege to be handed down to me as a kid the original Charles Atlas course with no equipment necessary... all the max planck institute in Germany did was take his bodyweight exercises and mechanically reproduced them on the bullworker!! Ring any bells??? Bodyweight exercise, bodyweight iso holds and bodyweight isometrics are where it’s at... THATS exercise freedom anywhere!!! See if you can get your hands on the original Charles Atlas course and see for yourself... cheers👍

    Good job Matt. I made chain versions over 20 years ago with steel handles. Same size and longer copied from the isometric zass exerciser. I was also skeptical about these at first. Are they strong enough for mainstay iso workouts?. Yes. Rated at 800 lb breakage. I got a couple of these bad boys(cheaper on Amazon). Like to use them in separate workout from isobar sessions. Multiple upper body angles done at 6 secs/ 10 mins total time using warrior/horse stances(isoflex) for the legs and torso to get a anytime anywhere workout. Demanding!

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  3 года назад +3

      Simple is the way to go for sure. Also, the simpler the device the less it tends to get in the way of the training. The best products are the one's you have to put the least amount of attention on so you can focus more on your training

    If you want a thicker grip to improve grip strength and engage more muscle .. buy fat grips.. they fit perfect over the handles

    I have this one, but nowadays I use something similar, the Isokinator, created by Gert Koelbel (the inventor of the Bullworker). A bit (no, actually much...) more pricy, but it comes with a scale on which I can set the targeted resistance, and I can monitor if I am able to keep my force steady against the resistance. I also train my chest with the Steel-Bow, the mini version of the Bullworker, every once in a while, trying to hit and hold the pre-set mark on the scale for about 30 to 50 seconds while moving my arms slowly to the right and the left (such as in chest flyes). I like this kind of isometric training combined with movement!

    • @cmoneytheman

      the kinator is the advanced ver of this

    • @oarsteed
      @oarsteed 11 месяцев назад

      I tried an Isokinator but, for me, those bells and whistles--e.g., adjustable resistance, error-prevention features, etc.--weren't worth the extra cost. The Isokinator Classic runs about EUR 305 (roughly USD 327), which is almost twenty times more than the USD 17 I paid for my Iso-Bow. I can ensure good form and can spitball the "70% of maximum effort" that the Isokinator dials in.

    Just adjust the more versatile ISO-trainer all the way down until the handles touch. Or if you have resistance band with removable handles, attach them together-save money.

    • @RedDeltaProject
      @RedDeltaProject  2 года назад +2

      Funny you mention that as I used a simple bed sheet as my first isometric equipment. It works well, but it does have several limitations:
      - You may be limited to grip strength which isn't bad as it can improve grip, but depending on the fabric you're using it may be difficult to pull with enough force.
      - you're pretty much limited to pulling with a towel, which I learned pretty quick. yes you can do some pushing with some modifications, but you're not going to have a strong enough support to get what you need, hence the need for a handle.
      - The Isobow is. lot more portable than a towel.

    • @VirideSoryuLangley
      @VirideSoryuLangley 2 года назад +1

      @@RedDeltaProject Hey Matt, thanks for replying. I prefer to do my isometric pushing exercise by pushing against a wall, one arm at a time, so I only use the towel for pulling. I can activate my shoulders with the towel if I raise the arms above the head and pull, but the wall works even better. And I agree, the fabric probably makes a big difference, the towel I use is pretty thick and I don't find it difficult to get a nice grip, usually my back muscles get tired first. Since I train at home, portability is not an issue...
