6:33 “No matter how hard we try, in 100 years no one’s gonna care”
Ironically, nobody remembers Roscoe Conkling, but Tom actually has a pretty good shot of people in 100 years still watching his videos, considering that he’s video-documenting 202X New York in detail.
I teach high school gym class on 14st and 5th ave, close by Union Square park. It’s such a joy to learn the history of this area. Tom you are a gem! I hope you fulfill your dreams and I hope to cross paths with you at some point to share our love for NYC! You deserve so much more recognition that what RUclips provides.
It made me happy to know that ActionKid is actually your Patreon friend's, both are the best, keep doing these tours dear tom!
Thank you for braving the heat to give us these tours!
"I thought I smelled something" timed perfectly as you pass the guy barefoot.
I worked in the Flat Iron in the mailroom of a book publishing company 1980's. There was an elevator operator who was from the Mosquito tribe of Honduras.
The details in his videos deserve a NEw YORK City recognition. I enjoyed every sec of it
My fiancée and I watch Tom videos and chill all day BABY!!
Nothing like waking up on July 5th and seeing there is a new Tom video !!!! Best part of the day so far.
20:04 Missed Sick Plug 🔌 Opportunity 😂
Yes he did. I think Tom did not want to get overwhelmed with all of the “sick plug” opportunities😭💯
Thank you for the walk through Madison Square, always funny, informative and entertaining!
Brilliant, as usual! Is it bad of me that from all the excellent information you shared, the thing sticking with me most is you going back into court and telling the jurors to smash that not guilty button?! Ha ha Also you missed a couple of sick plugs: The Tampa video should have been sick plug 5, NY Public Library 6, and Midtown (right at the end) 7. Just saying, so chill out man! LOL
Since finding your channel I have a routine of watching a video while I make dinner, and I really look forward to it at the end of the day
You have one of the best channels on RUclips.
Tom should have over a million subscribers.
"In a Hundred Years, nobody's gonna care". Oof, wasn't ready for that Tom
Again lots of information and your unique irony make your videos worth watching. Good to listen to plus enjoy and smile from your direct language while you draw the lines in time and space. Also I have to think again: what a town! ❤️👍
How’s the comedy scene in the city been recently?
Loved it. But where the heck is Phil?!
You made this park look big. 😃Whenever I've walked by, it was gone in seconds.
one of the best tour videos i've seen, so detailed, an actual walkthrough, insight and interesting stories, great personality... love it!!
This where I work and eat lunch everyday. Much respect.
The opening part about the wind gusts from The Flat Iron building blowing up lady’s skirts on 23rd street, apparently that’s where the term 23 Skidoo comes from
Omg!!!! Your videos make me smile and laugh all the time and very educational! Keepem coming! Love ya!
I've always been facinated by NYC. Unfortunately I will never be able to explore there. When I'm feeling out of sorts I load up one of your videos and go for a walk with you. Love them. Thank you.
Much better looking with all the hair. IMHO. Hehe. Always enjoy the tour. Thanks guy. 🎗
Fabulous Tom and thanks 😊
Great video and informative as always!
Thank you for the awesome videos!
My brain is hurting from Tom fax overload !! Great stuff as always !!
Tom, you are really really good!!! Keep doing this stuff! I love it!!
Tom your knowledge is awesome about NYC. I love to learn about the history.....thanks so much.
I liked this Tour! And my leg's loved it!!
Great stuff!
I love the focus on these sites around 14th-23rd Streets. Off the typical tourist path but very interesting with lots of history! There are lots of iconic old shots of the Flatiron Building because lots of top photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz had their offices nearby around the turn of the 20th Century.
"Lectures in pugilism" haha! Love watching those kinds of lectures and your brilliant videos! Cheers!
Great walk , I’m taking notes 😀
Tom I've seen all your videos...your amazing to watch..so informative
First yaaay. . Tom biggest fan. Hi Tom, thanks for continuing to post amazing informative videos.
Thanks for the tour. I can't wait until Aug so I can walk the Street and Avenues of NYC for real!!!!
Love your vidoes and your live streams Thank you. 👍😁
Great video per the usual. Thanks for being so nice to me and my wife before, during and after the show last week!
Love your tours, Tom! I looked for you all day yesterday while touring NYC on the Hop On Hop Off. Leaving here today. Your info made our visit much more enjoyable. Thanks!
my 1st time watching 1 of your videos... I subscribed immediately. Super informative and entertaining. Thanks for posting and looking forward to more fun NYC walks. :-)
I love your videos. These are so enjoyable and will enhance my next trip to NYC.
Sick Plug !! literally within 10seconds # genius . Looking forward to this episode 👍
The couple blocks north, south, and around Madison square have some of the most diverse and beautiful architecture in the city. I would sit there for inspiration as I was writing a dissertation on NYC skyscrapers
Interesting, informative, educational, memorable as always.🗽💓🌈
Love it, brilliant video dude!! What happened to Lucy?
Tom spitting the facts! Great job. Btw, do you know when you will start making tours again?
Very good ❤ !
You are always so informative. The story about the poor guy who got stabbed in the face and scarred for life.......... Never heard that.
Tom the best teacher History in New York 👍 Beatiful flowers and again squariel 😄🍃
I really enjoy your intelligence on these videos. Too many NYC vloggers have reached the Peter Principle when they pick up a camera and attempt to vlog. You know who they are and this will not insult them because they have no idea what the Peter Principle is. You are right up there with Walking Commuter who is another highly educated vlogger. I'm attempting to watch all your videos in the next week and really looking forward to it.
Another great tour, Thank you for making such great videos.
I super enjoy learning about the buildings, and how the connections are made.
You really have a nice confidence & hope someday to learn more on the conheim clock, by Rudy de Harak.
I saw it once in a film and since then hypnotized by it and the building :)
Im an artist from Hawaii living in Vermont, going to move to NYC one day. Your videos inspire so much, Thanks \!!!/
Tom you are awesome. Your encyclopedic knowledge of NYC is admirable. Also you missed SONY headquarters right there on the unfinished skyscraper.
Shoutout Tom Delgado, shoutout the You Might Be Drunk podcast
Sick video !
Loving it! I got to get some of those psych meds Tomas!!
Tom, you uploaded this video on my birthday, two days ago. And on top of that, I'm a native New Yorker who lives in NYC. Lol, such a cool coincidence.
Can’t get enough of these videos. Tom, ya really gotta do a video on Neir’s Tavern here in Woodhaven, Queens. The oldest continuously operating bar in NYC. YES, older than McSorley’s! If you’re interested I’ll put you in contact with Loy Gordon, the owner. A really cool dude and an FDNY Lieutenant.
NoMad, NoHo, NoLIta, No Thanks! 😂 😂 😂
Ahhhh, Tom. You are the best! Sick vid!
Tom you’re on fire.
I recently read a book that included Roscoe Conkline as a character. It began at the time of the 1888 blizzard, which was an opportunity for a murder in the book. Good read. "What the Dead Leave Behind" by Rosemary Simpson.
I use to work there for years the toy building 200 5th Ave. And yes you're still the best.
Please do a tour of Boerum Hill. Thanks
Really like your videso, so informative...... can you do one about Forsyth Park | Savannah, Georgia?
Love this shit. Keep em coming!
I love this! I love all the information
I moved to the area 7 years ago, I
That when you cross a street or avenue, you find the most important buildings of NYC. Like, the Flariton building on 5th av, you can see the freedom tower, on Madison av you see the Empire State Building, with the creepy freemason details. America has freedom of sin not to sin, on 3rd av, we can see the Chrysler building, on 3rd av. The financial district with the Statue on top. Near Brooklyn Bridge. I forgot the name but is gorgeous. That's the peculiar thing I found on east 23rd, St. It's getting prettier now. Enjoy ;)
😃" INTERESTING!.... Normally, I don't care for most ' walking tours ' because most are simply too long and drawn out. There's something to be said for ' short and sweet ' video highlights and showcases, instead of meandering through crowded sidewalks and the ' hustle and bustle ' en route to various attractions. Well Done! "
That head shot! 🔥
Greetings from the Philippines! Wow, NYC heat now competes with Manila's toasty temps. Get tons of gelato, Tom. You deserve it!
Cool history lesson
Great vid! gotta risk it for the bisquit! i love your vids! very educational. Go get yourself & dan some water and Ice cream! love ya both! stay safe! :-) cant wait to see more vids from you! YAY! :-)
Awesome video as per usual. You change cameramen like I change underwear. Variety is the spice of life, baby!!!!
RUclips and chill 🤣heck yeah Tom thanks again for the knowledge
OMG - not sure how I found your video but so glad I did! Normally not a history fan, but you really make it enjoyable. Love your sense of humor!
Sick tour! (as the kids say)
Thank you for this video! You should make a Hamilton Tour covering the history from the play!
"Smash that not guilty button" lol Absolute Gold.
Tom, thank you. Feel free to take me to Florida too.
i like how tom always convinces his camera man to wear a backup full of tom's head shots lol
the flatiron building is just a nickname; its real name is the fuller building.
Spiderman 10 is my favorite! 🕷
The man, the myth, the legend Tom Delgado...also has nice legs. Just sayin'.
Tom, what's your diet?
Full crotch bulge.. the camers should go 7 or 8 inches lower... not gay.. just saying
You can really tell that Dan and Phil aren’t the same height. As always great informative video
Geweldige plugs!
OMG...as the kids say......first to like and comment 😀
When I was a kid I used to call it the FLATuhRON :(
Hi Tom, I had no idea you were a lawyer. No wonder you're so smart and retain so much information. Across the street from the site of the old Madison Square Garden was the Leonard Jerome Town House. He was a wealthy New Yorker who daughter ,Jennie Jerome married Lord Randolph Churchill and were the parents of Sir Winston Churchill. I think the house later became a private club and was later torn down. James Stewart and Kim Novak do a love scene on the top of the Flatiron Building in the movie,BELL,BOOK AND CANDLE. The last big event i the old Madison Square Garden was the 1924 Democratic Convention that took 103 ballots before John W.Davis became the nominee and lost to Calvin Coolidge. The inside was extremely humid because their was no air conditioning. I know it gets hot in New York this time of the year so you wore the right kind of gear. I know also a lot of garbage rots and it really stinks. Feel free to use some of my own little tid bits in your tours. We all know a little bit about a lot of things. I found Madison Square by accident on one of my trips and saw the iconic building.which was a great surprise.
Tom, just learned Seward was the one who pushed to buy Alaska from Russia. About 2 cents per acre.
Hey Tom. I dont know if you take requests, but I am a big Horse Racing fan and would love to see Belmont Park and the surrounding area. I am sure you know some cool obscure facts about it. Just a thought. Love the channel.
Tom in any b-roll: 🙂👍
Oh I'm going to Madison Sq so many times, I love that area. Tons of information jeez, how can someone remember all these ahj :)
Sorry if this seems like a stupid question however... Are there back alleys in NYC? Any history/walking tour of these? Curious about ALL of NYC.
BTW also a big fan of Dan. 😉
Some more history near there. CJ Vanderbilt killed himself in the 5th floor of 935 Broadway. Formerly a hotel. Now the Harry Potter New York flagship store. So much amazing history in Flatiron.
Actor Lawyer NYC Tour Master....
I've wondered who one of the elementary schools in my district was named after. R. Conkling in Utica NY.
Good vid tom as usual .empire state built in 14 months wow and a small loss of life to in its construction
