Nice video! I used to live in Hamilton in the mid 80s to early 90s, haven’t seen it in decades. I miss going to Roller Gardens, Zarky’s and Jackson Square. And Roma pizza!
Jackson Square used to be a lot more vibrant and busier than it is today. Many of the more upscale stores have left. In the late 60s, the City of Hamilton expropriated and demolished a number of city blocks for “urban renewal” and closed the streets for the mall to be built. Many small businesses and heritage buildings were destroyed. It also created a blank wall along King Street.
MC Ken, Your trip to Hamilton was a great idea and success. Quick question, how many pairs of hammer pants did you owe during the early 90's? Can touch this...🔨🇨🇦
Nice hike through the Hammer! Lots of good gritty city sights. Looks like the Jackson Square mall has retained it's 70s aesthetic which I love.
Thanks for watching, Justin! haha 70s aesthetic sums it up.

Fun facts on the city of Hamilton. Thanks Ken. It's nice to see the other spots of Ontario that are worthy of mention.

I've seen pictures of all the old buildings that were destroyed for the redevelopment. What a loss.
