I'm not even in this situation, and yet this is making my blood boil. Also, shame on the cop for letting this old hag manipulate him and being condescending to Op.
This type of character is very manipulative and convincing, don't hold it against the cop, and in all truth he may well be less inclined to believe without proof.
As someone that has a SIL that threatened to call CPS on us when our daughter was little (under 1) when there were major issues in her OWN home, this one really hit. Luckily, my MIL read her daughter the riot act! People like this are just nuts!
@@joannejasny750while true that the granny was manipulative, the officer should have remained neutral, he was condescending and basically called OP a lyer without even listening to her, even demanded to know how much she was being bribed without any proof basically he believed that she had no job when all he had to do was ask what her job was. If he had that would have poked holes in granny’s claim and he wouldn’t look like a ahole too. She could (and in my opinion should have) have gotten him in trouble for being unprofessional.
Story 1 - this takes place in Scotland, if it's the one I'm thinking of. Granny is truly certifiable, in the saddest and most literal meaning of the word. I think Granny's friend also loses her job, for violating ALL the rules.
I hope the Scottish prison system took steps to ensure the safety of the other inmates at whichever prison they sent Insane Granny to. She could be very dangerous to them if they cross her.

The fact that it took attempted murder and destruction of evidence and resisting arrest and endangering multiple officers for the Dad to FINALLY stop defending his mother. 🙄

That granny earned her name. Wow. That mother and child's guardian angels were really on their game by having the perfect person with the perfect job to be involved in this and having the aunt at her medical facility.
My kids spent a year in CPS custody because of my ex's lies, the first social worker has signed was a personal friend of my ex's drug dealer sister I stood right up to that b**** and called her out and she was removed from the case and another worker was put on
European prisons mostly focus on rehabilitation over punishment so they have different standards. That said "released on good behavior" is a much higher bar to clear across the pond as a result. If you have obvious psychological issues they will make sure you go through therapy and are medicated to my understanding before they release you.
Holy Shit! This story had me on the edge of my seat the whole time while listening to this. Granny’s not insane, she’s a psychotic monster and needs to stay in jail if she’s willing to commit murder through Arson!
I think that puts a bad light on psychotic people. Yeah she certainly was psychotic, but I’m absolutely sure that wasn’t the only issue. This hag has completely lost all of her marbles. Psychotic people you can treat, this hag is a lost cause I think. My father is a psychiatrist, and we sometimes talk about stuff like this. People can reach a point of no return, where therapy and medication won’t work anymore. This is true for murderes who kill multiple people on multiple occasions, repeated sexual offenders etc. Basically when you’re so far gone, that what you’re doing has become completely normal to you. And while I‘m everything but an expert (I only know what I learned from my dad), I‘m willing to bet, that this woman certainly is on of these cases.
I'm still wondering what her thought process was. I would think she was trying to disguise her crime by making OP's potential death look more incidental. I *would* think that if I believed she was capable of rational thought at that point.

She would accuse me of assault, but the cameras would always vindicate me and would just show her bumping into me on purpose 😂
That's chaos theory for you. The Swiss cheese model used by air crash investigators can explain the many unrelated events that line up and craft this tale of a granny's downfall into insanity.

Gotta love many updates! And you know if that social services lady had so much time on her hands to go stalking with granny that she was doing zero on her cases. Also who tries to kill people with visible police there?
When I worked security I had a guy try to claim he hadn't threatened my supervisor and I was brandishing my firearm to intimidate him. Even tried to claim our body cam footage was fake (props to Boblov IPV6 body cams for instant playback) guy pulled a knife on my supervisor, I pulled a gun and my supervisor "politely" disarmed him by slapping his wrist hard enough he lost feeling.
I'm actually thinking narcissist or at least narcissistic with how delusional and belief that an innocent woman is the devil just for marrying her son. Not to mention right after she got out of bail she switched her hatred on to op and blamed op for destroying her plan to the point she tried to murder op.
Don't say that, now we'll hear about another "Mommy" who has her son's dessicated corpse in her bedroom and his widow is in prison for his murder. But a suspicious family member finally gets the cops to investigate and it's discovered that "Mommy" just couldn't let her little boy go and she accidentally killed him. You pick the method and how she framed her Daughter-in-law. Shame on you for saying that.

I just hope that IG can get some psychological help while she’s on the inside because she’s truly delusional. If she’s left to fester/stew in her own juices, she might end up even worse. OP needs to keep an eye out for if/when IG might be eligible for parole and release, so IG won’t be able to sneak up on her again - no telling what that IG might do if she doesn’t rehabilitate. Thanks for saving the little girl, OP. All the drama was worth it in the end because she’s safe with her loving parents away from IG. Hope OP heals completely from her injuries.

@@joshduthie3401I'm not totally sure whether it's the same, but as somebody who lives in england, I don't think it's THAT different for the average person. "The Right to Roam", which I think you're probably referring to, only applies to certain large estates or other large swathes of land (such as farms) with pre-existing public access. It basically just exists to protect walks and hiking trails from big land owners. The majority of us, i think, quite like it that way, since walking out in our countryside is one of the best parts about living in this country. It ABSOLUTELY would not protect you from entering somebody's personal garden and harassing them though, there's quite a big fistinction between "you can walk this public footpath through this estate" and "literally peering into somebody's fenced off property", and other than that, i don't think the right to loiter around outside of somebody's is any different here than the US either.

Holy cow! This grandma is BEYOND insane and is particularly super obsessed with the girl judging by all of these crazy events and drama happening. Being locked up in prison in my book is just too mild at this point. What the parents should do now is to file for a permanent restraining order against her since in case she does serve her time or is let go early for "good behaviour" or something and she decides to pick up where she had stopped last time. The restraining order will be handy to let her know that she's no longer welcome as a family member and if she does attempt to go near the family, she can be reprimanded and/or arrested for violating a restraining order. That's the next course of actions that has to be taken. That family can consider themselves being extremly lucky or even blessed that OP was even there from the very start, standing her ground with the witness report, helping the family out and is working in the forensics of all things. It's like listening to a modern replica of the origin story of Purim (the word literally means "Random" or "Lottery" in Hebrew and as a tradition it's celebrated to honor the time when an evil Vizier decided to wipe out all the Jews from the Sultanate at a date he decided based on a lottery draw all because of the main protagonist refused to bow to the Vizier, but the Jews were spared because the protagonist had his daughter-like niece presented to the Sultan and the Sultan found her being extremly beautiful and married her, allowing the protagonist asking her to tell the Sultan about the Vizier's evil plan). Granny is probably a low functioning sociopath. The way she can switch emotions and get irritated easily along with the fact that she has no conscience and no issues doing the unspeakable while being manipulative as hell. Sociopaths have dulled emotions and while similar to psychopaths are not the same. Psychopaths have almost no feeling or emotion, are very calm, and very pragmatic.
@joannejasny750 There's a difference between "less inclined to believe without evidence" and "outright accusing her of taking bribes."
@bleachfan2.029 Wouldn't be surprised if the cop was also a friend of psycho granny.
Story 1 - this takes place in Scotland, if it's the one I'm thinking of. Granny ends up in jail, as OP is (I think) the Scottish equivalent of a Federal Officer, and Granny attacked her with intent to kill.
The "friend" knew it was over the moment she looked at OP's business card and knew granny wouldn't be able to discredit her. It's why she walked off and dragged granny with her and why granny threw a fit in the car.
Spoilers!! 😱
I think it was FlyingPigSqadron that posted it originally in r/justnomil.
@@karinwolf3645 I wrote that before I read the whole thing. I think it's one of the top 3 most horrific things I've read on Reddit. The seriously malignantly ill people are terrifying to me - just just don't know where they're going, and they don't care how much damage they cause. No fucks given in the most frightening way.
I am only half way through this story and it is INSANE. Now I need to keep listening to the end to find out if that crazy MIL was committed or not.
Like I wanna say a comment only for there to be an update and I gotta stop for a second to process
I listened to her whole story and YES, sure is going to be. It entirely qualifies for padded room, straitjacket, Hannibal Lecter mask. At least I think so
Yes, commited to prison.
Is it bad that I want another update? I'm invested in op, the mom and kid. At least dad finally came around.
Right?!?!
So it took the (essentially) attempted murder of the OP by the granny to break the hold on her son? Abuse knows no bounds.
Are you talking about the abuse of the son by his mother?
Some people just are delusional until reality slams through unexpectedly.
It took attempted murder, attempting to destroy evidence, committing a felony while on bail, for a woman to receive any punishment.
The fact that it took attempted murder and destruction of evidence and resisting arrest and endangering multiple officers for the Dad to FINALLY stop defending his mother. 🙄
"She's not going to -- oh $#!+ SHE DID!"
Parts 2, 3 *AND 4*
I think its worth remembering that she raised him. He's probably had years of abuse to condition him to her crazy - which isn't fair on his partner by any means, but probably means it took a lot of effort to break free of her BS.
Given that hes goung theough counseling and theyre patchong things up, i can't imagine he's such a terrible person, but another victim.
@@matthewbibby8921 That is the only way to see it, he is her first victim (along with his sister the Aunt who was also done with her BS). At least that is the best view in order for the couple to reconcile and begin to repair the damage done.
That was one of the most unhinged stories I've ever heard.
The scary bit is that it took so long for her to be locked up. If one little thing had been different it could have ended horribly
It makes you wonder how many other similar stories had a bad ending.
That police officer should be looked into as he threatened op and tried to get her to retract her statement.
This woman went absolutely psycho. Good on the dad for telling the truth, getting counseling, and apologizing. Congrats to you OP for helping the family. I've heard of entitlement, I've heard of nutty people, but this woman takes the cake on beyond crazy.
Criminally Insane.
@@Galaxy1001DAll Karens have forms of being criminally insane. This one just reached max level.
I had so little respect for the dad until he finally started standing up for himself and getting counseling.
OP, I would suggest you do two things. One, get a permanent restraining order against granny. Obviously this isn't intended to stop her, merely to add to the charges and prison sentences when she inevitably comes around again. Two, get a CCW license and use it, again for when granny comes around again, because she will and the next time you may not have police officers around to help.
Great advice.

I think Insane Granny should be sent to a hospital for the Criminally Insane.
She's not insane, you can tell by her behavior. Notice that once the cops showed up, she turned into the sweet little old lady? This woman is a psycho. She knows what she's doing. She should never be allowed to see daylight again.
Why has no witness, official or otherwise, made this suggestion, a lot? In every other sentence? to a lawyer involved?
Arkam Asylum would be ill equipped to handle that level of crazy.
Even The Joker would avoid any association with Insane Granny! 😮
That granny earned her name. Wow. That mother and child's guardian angels were really on their game by having the perfect person with the perfect job to be involved in this and having the aunt at her medical facility.
That's one reason it would make a good script.
My kids spent a year in CPS custody because of my ex's lies, the first social worker has signed was a personal friend of my ex's drug dealer sister I stood right up to that b**** and called her out and she was removed from the case and another worker was put on
If this was a movie I would watch it! What a psychopath!
This could be a Stephen King/Alfred Hitchcock based horror suspense work.
I can totally see Glenn Close playing Insane Granny.

Personally I prefer Crusty the Clown’s stunned silence before he says “Well what the hell was that?!”
@@mhfuzzballI might have missed that one...
What a psychological thriller. Drama, suspense, a sociopath villain and corrupt government officials. This story had it all.
When she went to OP's house, that could technically be considered witness intimidating.
Very much so
3 years locked up only?! They should have her locked up for freaking life after that last bs she try to pull!
Minimum
Don't worry, it's for over 3 years, mean more than 3 years.
European prisons mostly focus on rehabilitation over punishment so they have different standards. That said "released on good behavior" is a much higher bar to clear across the pond as a result. If you have obvious psychological issues they will make sure you go through therapy and are medicated to my understanding before they release you.
"Rehabilitation" doesn't work on people this insane.
Oubliette should be an option in this case!!
Holy Shit! This story had me on the edge of my seat the whole time while listening to this.
Granny’s not insane, she’s a psychotic monster and needs to stay in jail if she’s willing to commit murder through Arson!
…in broad daylight and in front of multiple cops… all awareness gone! 😶🙃🤯
@@antoinettejohnson6251 She literally tried to light up a mobile cop shop, didn't she?
It is good to see someone who understands the difference, not many people see it
I'm still wondering what her thought process was. I would think she was trying to disguise her crime by making OP's potential death look more incidental. I *would* think that if I believed she was capable of rational thought at that point.
OmGosh!!!!! I'm a grandma, and this whole story literally gave me a sick stomach!
Time to reopen the insane asylums!!!! That woman should NEVER EVER BE ALLOWED OUT AGAIN! And I think about the.poor babies who've suffered her insanity.

PS- her son is also a loser!!!
I wouldn't believe people like this existed if I hadn't met a few myself. One girl I worked with hated my guts. I can't say why for sure, but she was pretty hostile to any man she was interested in but was taken (I'm happily married). She would accuse me of assault, but the cameras would always vindicate me and would just show her bumping into me on purpose 😂
Just imagine what would have happened to that child has OP not been in the right place at the right time.
I shudder to think of it!
That's chaos theory for you. The Swiss cheese model used by air crash investigators can explain the many unrelated events that line up and craft this tale of a granny's downfall into insanity.
Bet the father would have assumed mother dearest and her social services friend were right... Most likely resulting in child and father living with insane granny while the mother got labeled a lying abuser...
O M G!!! I mean... this must have been so unreal to live out. I'm glad the son has finally had the illusion of a lifetime of narcissism and gaslighting lifted and sees the terror his mother really is. It sucks to live with a parent like that, and I'm sure it hurts, but he will be better off for it. I can't imagine what that poor baby girl would have gone through if the grandmother had been able to get her.

Ok...that Crazy Granny has to be the Karen of the Year! I don't think *anything* can top this story!
I'd say this is Karen of the decade. I've never heard of a Karen trying to murder *multiple* people just to get her way.

The most insane part is, she made her granddaughter cry, why the eff does she even care about her? XD
