This song takes me back to when I first got a PS2 with SSX3 back in 2003, those were the days...
2003 was also my favorite year in the 2000s for music, perhaps even my favorite year for music period. Not only was there this, there was also Fountain of Wayne's "Stacys Mom", Simple Plan's "Addicted" and "Perfect", and if we're talking about rap, there was Outkasts "Hey Ya", which was a great song.
the old generation of EA games always had those soundtracks with all the heatseakers type pop-punk, screamo, hip-hop, and electronic music. Really takes you back. SSX3 is fucking legendary, and IMO had the best soundtrack out of all of them.
I agree. SSX3 is hands down the best snowboarding game I have ever played, and the music in the game is one of the main reasons. This song is by far the best song in the game, followed by Autopilot Off's "Clockworks" and Thrice's "Stare At The Sun". If only EA Radio Big was a real radio station... a real radio station that kept itself in 2003-05 throughout the years, and did not get with the times of the modern electronica garbage we've had since 2008.

Man. I remember being 15 and hearing this song and just feeling like it spoke to me on a personal level. Being 15/16 during this era of music was just awesome. I'm 32 now and still rock out to it. Even if my 11 year old think I'm weird 😂

Who remembers being introduced to this awesome song while playing SSX3 on the PS2 back in the day? We didn't know just how blessed we were back in the 2000's as kids or young teenagers. :)
As a drummer, I've always appreciated how fast that hi-hat section is with those fill-ins.....he's going at serious pace there !

I heard yellowcard for the first time about SSX3 on the Gamecube. It was the song for me. The perfect in-game snowboarding song. This feeling was so great when it came on the "in-game radio". That was in 2003, now in 2023 I'm getting handwritten lyrics to this song by William Ryan Key. I am so thankful and so happy. I'm 36 years old but I'm happy like a kid :) Yellowcard, you guys are great.
REAL TALK!!! NOT GONNA LIE!!! It all started with Way Away by YC. They made me get into this type of music. I never knew music like this existed once I heard this for the first time. It turned me into a raging Rock/Alternative fan. I'll never forget the year 2003. And I was only 10 years old when I got into music like this. Now it's nothing but this type of music on all my playlists. And of course tons of YC because they my favorite band of all time.

The ocean avenue album really had a unique message overall and is definitely one of the greatest albums in their genre
It is nice to hear someone say this out loud, I always felt like this album really fit for the time in my teens. Listening to them now I wonder if something in us was just forewarning about some of the struggles we would face in the future because of the current state our society might have been trending towards back in the early 2000s.

This band started in my home town, not only that but cherry street where they spent time was basically the area I was raised, walking barefoot along the beach as a young kid listening to this music made ultra core memories. Helped me deal with the anxieties of growing up.

I started playing SSX again and when this song came on, I got the biggest wave of nostalgia I’ve had in years.
That violin adds so much to this song. Especially the melancholy notes just passed the middle of the chorus (“How it feels to be alone”).
This song saved me from my addiction. I was alone and didn't believe, just using more stuffs, then I heard this song, while I was on, and decided to break out of those shits, and I did. I'm clean for years now. Thank you Yellowcard, thanks for saving me.

Reminds me of the times when we just got on cable TV. Dad leveled up in life to a better paying job, went from a pizza delivery driver in Manhattanbeach, Cali / janitor to working for alliedsignal now known as Honeywell over in Torrance, Cali. hailing down from central America (Guatemala). His broken English never discouraged him from reaching his goals and eventually becoming a proud American citizen.though he has always been able to provide us not with everything we wanted but everything we needed. I'm blessed to have him in my life still and seeing this video just helps me reminisce on those times.

I still can't thank SSX 3 enough for introducing me to this song when I was a little 3rd grader who only listened to two bands because I didn't know how to find new music (sometimes I would play SSX just to hear the music). This song helped me win so many events in that game, and then when I figured out how to listen to it on the internet It helped me get through middle and high school, and here I am still listening to it over a decade after I first heard it.

Ya know when i hear yellowcard or seether and even sum 41 it takes me back so much to where i was so young thinking i had the worst problems and looking back at how childish they were now got me thinking, if i was goin thru hell then and survived im pretty sure things now or in the future will pass and will only be nostalgic memories (like the elderly). for better or worst, with regrets or not, we live and we learn
I don't think this generation really appreciates music like this anymore...this song is rockin reguardless and Yellowcard is heavily underrated in my honest opinion.
