Agreed, I listen to pretty brutal bands like slaughter to prevail now but I have the biggest soft spots for bands like yellowcard and simple plan, it's where we started and got heavier and heavier over the years.
You wouldn't think that many bands can rock an electric fiddle like that, but these guys are one. I'm normally into heavier rock, but I love this band because their sound pulls together so good.
My younger brother put this on the aux in the car. I was shook, this is such a throwback! I immediately started singing along; despite it been some years since I've heard this particular song. Iconic ❤
There are literally no rock or alternative rock bands like this anymore. It's weird...I think I took it for granted. The kids these days are missing out.
***** I dont think there are. Like when I was in middle school there was Blink 182, Sum41, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, The Hives, The Vines, then Panic @ the Disco. It seems like there are no bands like these anymore, or at least they're not as popular as those bands were in that time period.
Ahh this song. This is the song I'll select when I'm serious about winning a hard race and no more kidding around in Burnout Revenge. 2:09 to 2:49 final lap = pedal to the metal + boost all the way to the finish line. Good times!
I watched this music video before I came to America on MTV top 10. In fact most of the 2000s MTV was still into alternative rock with simple plan, MCR, Blink, Sum, etc. First thing I did when I came here and learned English was listened to this songs for the first time. It was life changing.
I'm so stubbornly positive that if a song like this came out today it would absolutely top the charts within a week! I would say this for almost every one of my favorite bands from high school too. So underappreciated!
I would just like to say after all of these years massive major props to the drummer. I found this music video around the time I started teaching myself how to drum and I can remember this song was such an exciting one to learn. Longineu W. Parsons thank you for consistently being an exciting and energizing force with your instrument. You were the primary reason I listened to Yellowcards music lol
This was one my songs on my iPod back then. This was one of those songs with the long quiet intro and I would increase the volume just to blasted in the ears 2 seconds later.
Seeing this video again just reminds me of good times. I was 13 and chilling with my friends, on my PS2 playing video games after school. Burnout Revenge, Madden, and so many more... Jesus where did the time go?
Hello you, how was the rest? You made it through, but nevertheless I got you out on a wire You be love, and I'll be a liar Tell it all and fill up the air But make it loud 'cause nobody's there Nobody's there Nobody's there Stop, turn, take a look around At all the lights and sounds Let 'em bring you in Slow burn, let it all fade out And pull the curtain down I wonder where you've been Make it new, but stay in the lines Just let go but keep it inside Smile big for everyone Even when you know what they've done They gave you the end but not where to start Not how to build, how to tear it apart So tell it all, and fill up the air But make it loud 'cause nobody's there Nobody's there Stop, turn, take a look around At all the lights and sounds Let 'em bring you in Slow burn, let it all fade out And pull the curtain down I wonder where you've been I've got a way to work this out I've got a way and you know how I've got a way to work this out I've got a way and you know how I've got a way to work this out I've got a way I've got a way to work this out I've got a way and you know how I've got a way to work this out I've got a way I've got a way to work this out I've got a way and you know how I've got a way to work this out I've got a way Stop, turn, take a look around At all the lights and sounds Let 'em bring you in Slow burn, let it all fade out And pull the curtain down I wonder where you've been You've earned everything you've found And painted faces frown I'll say I knew you when
Bought this cd at a California clothing company in Denver Colorado in 2006. I’ll never forget popping that cd into my 1992 Volkswagen Jetta and jus vibin 😊❤
Bring back this type of music (alternative I think) back into the mainstream. This is way better than music we have now. I'm 15 so I was pretty young when this came out or not alive at all, but I still think this is way better than what we have now. The world just seemed better back then, with technology not being as much of an influence in our lives and just listening to your favorite songs on a cd player.
You have no idea how much I agree with this entire post. Early 2000s Punk Rock was SO GOOD. I'm into all kinds of different music genres actually, but mostly from 90s and 00s. Personal favorite being Drum'n'Bass. *[EDIT]:* Although, now that I think about it, I do listen to a lot of 70s and 80s stuff too... Definitely more fond of both 80s and early 2000s music. They're tied for favorites.
Fuck, this song was an integral part of my childhood. Loved this from like fourth grade and just found this song now again by chance. Damn I miss those days
Only the 2000s would you have a punk rock band with a violinist in it. What a time!
Try "Ne Obliviscaris " Aussie prog metal band, they have a violin player 🤟😎
not punk.. but Imminence have entered the chat
And skillet has one lol they are not the same genre tho
and he was amazing
This is not punk rock you clown.
This song won an award for best song in a video game. Well deserved, great song!!
what video game?
Burnout Revenge on PS2
+muhammad karimata and Burnout Legends in PSP

I always love it when they use rock artists music in movies and video games. It's ashame they don't do that anymore.
I might be a metal guy these days, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Yellowcard. Such a cool band with awesome tunes.
Good job, chap! :)
I agree.

Hits you in the mid 2000 feels.
You know it!
Somebody still listening to this amazing song in 2024?
Just started listening to the entire album again this week. It still absolutely hits.
Just saw them live four days ago. They opened with this one!
I also just saw them live! Awesome concert
This song slaps harder than my mom on report card day !!

My favorite song from Yellowcard.
16 years later and this song still kicks a$$!!!
Yellowcard's drummer has to be one of the best. He's fucking awesome in every song.
This drummer left the band a couple of years ago... he's now on Evans Blue.
He also has one hell of a badass name too...
Longineu W. Parsons III
This never gets old. The intro never fails to get me hype.
I'm so sad that my generation don't get rock bands like this anymore but I'm glad i got to experience the late 2000s
You wouldn't think that many bands can rock an electric fiddle like that, but these guys are one. I'm normally into heavier rock, but I love this band because their sound pulls together so good.

Man do I miss playing in a punk band in middle school, 2000s...nothing more fun than banging a tune like this out.
Yeahhhhhh yellllowwwwcardddd !!!!!!! Fcukin love this song ! Main cc playlist back in the good ol days !
I remember seeing this on MTV in elementary school and I've been wondering what this song was for years but I finally found it!
"I'm from another country and I happen to was also in high school when I heard this song on MTV, greetings from Venezuela"
i was in primary school when i first saw this on MTV :) Hi from Australia
Elementary school? This makes me feel super old lol.
I was 6 years old when this came out
Thank you Chris Walters... for adding on to my feeling old. Now I feel ancient lol.

As in the time stamp of the song lol

Underrated album, IMO it's Yellowcard's best.
Needs about 99999999999 more views. I really hate how stuff like this isn't mainstream anymore.
I'm going to miss these guys playing together. I am very fortunate that I got to see them twice. They got me through some stuff in my life lol.

Slow burn, let it all fade out
And pull the curtain down
I wonder where you've been
Make it new, but stay in the lines
Just let go but keep it inside
Smile big for everyone
Even when you know what they've done
They gave you the end but not where to start
Not how to build, how to tear it apart
So tell it all, and fill up the air
But make it loud 'cause nobody's there

Still rocking to this in 2022!

you don't have to. Music doesn't go away ;)

2022 and still fucking great!
Saw them recently at the Iheart Radio Alt rock concert lineup with Sum 41, Fallout Boy and 30 secs to Mars. Them and Sum were the best bands

the beginning is probably the only good part of the song
that's how i feel on the very end of Ocean Avenue!
Saryan1 100% agree. It is all downhill after the beginning
Ferra T I kinda like the breakdown/bridge tho. It's the same as the intro; Still this could have been a much better song.
ChattGM It's like the intro of Stay Away of Nirvana.
