In the early 2000s, “the 80s” felt soooo long ago… and now the early 2000s don’t feel that long ago, yet they are just as long ago as the 80s were to the early 2000s. It’s humbling to learn firsthand how fast time goes.

Saw them in 2004. They played a lot of Ocean Avenue tracks, but they played Warm October Nights and I was just amazed. They still had Ben and LP3 playing with them.
Danny, we would blast this song in your 2004 Ford Ranger while driving all over southern California all hours of the night and screaming the lyrics as loud as we could on our way to girls’ houses and late night In n’ Out burgers. You were always there for me and I’m sorry addiction took you too early. I always think about you and our golden years.
This comment is deep. My childhood best friend loved this band too. He’s still alive but he’s unreachable and living 1000 miles away from me and struggling with addiction too. Sorry for your loss.
@ Man these drugs are evil. I will say this to you, do everything in your power to reach and help your friend. You don’t want to be at his funeral holding his family as they weep on you. I don’t wish that on anyone. Every year on his bday i cry now.
I lived in California for 7 years. Ocean Avenue was pretty often part of my life there. Hanging in Santa Monica with my friends, driving around that area, just feeling the vibe of it. I know the song isn’t about that place, tho usually people associate with it. For me, every time I hear it somehow brings me back. It’s special. Thanks Yellowcard for such a beautiful tune. BTW: De Marco kicks ass!!! Much love brother!
HELL YEAH ! if u aint jammed to this at 2 am in TOMMYs Parking Lot downing a DBL CHILICHEEZE BURGER - u aint lived!!! man i miss being there blaring THIS TRACK there bro!!
I remember when their old bass player used to hit me up in like 2000 asking if I could get em a show at Canes in San Diego. Opened for them a year later.
Oh man my teen self is jumping for joy. Love these guys and they were an absolute staple at warped tour. Glad to see these guys touring around playing all the music us millennials love
Yellowcard is awesome, lucky to had seen them perform 3 times 2 at warped, very down to earth group! LP was a cornerstone of the sound, but Ryan is still amazing!
Wow! I didn't know they were back! One of the biggest regrets I have is not going to see they playing live when they came to my city. I was broke at the time and felt bad asking my mother to lend some money for the ticket. I hope they come to Germany on this new tour!
I don't know what it is about this song. It basically talks about "the good old days" even though they were in their early 20s back then (and so was I). 20 years later it hits just as hard.
You’d still have your FOH, not theirs. I’ve done audio for 14 years, and have done multiple TV appearances like this with bands I’ve been touring with. Stations just had me tie in console. Soundchecks are a pain, because you can only make noise during commercials. But, it works
I think this setup is to prevent microphone bleed (signals from the kit that picked up by the other microphones) So the sound engineer has more control over the drumbus and the individual kit.
Nah it really isn’t, Green Day shouldn’t change how they dress just because of their age, screw that bullshit. People should be allowed to dress however they want and shouldn’t have to change just because of age
cool song but weird seeing old guys; this band, blink, and the rest sing songs about sixteen year olds and all that teenage business. i remember the video for this....had a groundhog day thing going on it it.
GMA sound engineers feel like they are paid rocks and pebbles just coz of how they mixed this otherwise great performance... get better sound engineers GMA
Now i understand what my dad felt listening to Summer of 69.
Daaaaaaammmmmnnnn. Thought of that also. We got old.

Parsons was an amazing drummer, nobody could touch his rhythm and dynamics with Yellowcard, they should bring him back!
I wish.
Agreed
Agree, LP made the tracks what they are. The current drummer is good but he looks like he's struggling
Totally
He went off and started playing with Florida band Stages & Stereos last I heard
The violinist always gets me ❤😢😊
Makes no sense, never has, just a distraction
@jessepanzer4470 for you but not for us. It goes with it! Plus the solo goes hard imo!

Saw these guys at the 07 warped tour. When they played this song there was a massive circle pit that broke out. One of the best memories of my teens

Man his voice still sounds great
Aw man, this song is deeply tied to my memory of being abroad for college, playing Halo Combat evolved capture the flag and this on repeat.
Wow 😢

They’ve still got it. So happy that emo bands that paved the way are coming back for one more ride
LP’s fills were unmatched.
Stayed for the pause at 4:07, goes so hard. Happy to see the band after so many years.
How come his voice never changed 💯🔥🔥🔥 ❤❤❤
Wonder the same thing 😮
Definitely doesn't sound like this live. This is way cleaner than at a show
Brought back amazing middle and high school feel-good memories. Love this song so much.
They still got it!! Such a classic song. Ryan’s voice still sounds crisp too ❤.
"we have this really cool new thing going on with this band" ..."we don't care, you're going to play ocean avenue anyway..."
What a cool band. It’s so refreshing to see such good vibes in the music industry.
I hope they get the career they deserve now that they’re back
Best band I’ve ever heard in my life! They’ve got that TIGHT sound that everyone wants, but so few have. They know what “it” is.

They are talking about ocean avenue in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. LOL
I remember when their old bass player used to hit me up in like 2000 asking if I could get em a show at Canes in San Diego. Opened for them a year later.
Wow, Cane’s Bar and Grill lol. Forgot about that place.

one of the best bands out there! Love them!
Absolutely fantastic
Damn, I'm oooold...
Love yellowcard
Great voice!!!! Genial!!
So good - so good -so good - that kind of performance is what makes them great!
They killed it!

The drummer's constant smile is awesome. Such an awesome song, remembering great times. :)
Damn they look good!!! 💛💛
The most Punk rock Violinist in the World!
They were AWESOME at When We Were Young in '23
Jerry Finn TOSSING IN HIS GRAVE RN
Ryan Key is a VAMPIRE yo!
I was a little scared of being disappointed, but they still sound great!
Is it me or the new drummer looks like a dad that wanted his opportunity to be a drummer on tv
damn i miss my child hood
These dudes performed at my high school back in the day. First and second lunch.
They got chicken nuggets and chocolate milk thrown at them.
HS vibes for me😊
yo! he sounds the same!
Yellowcard vocalist and incubus guitarist like a twin.
See you in Paris❤
Ryan was in a superior band called Staring Back. But good to see him doing well.
I think this was the drummer's performance 😅
2:49 that can’t be comfy to play
miss LP
yellowcard *BASS*
does ryan key's signature guitar sell? where can we get it?
Not the same without LP :(
Holy shit he didnt even aged 😂
okay but i wanted to hear the version with hammock
Wish they bring LP back with them on tour. Doesnt feel like with their current drummer.
If this were instagram, the top comment would be, "we got Yellowcard comeback before GA6".
Missing LP for sure!
cade os brasileiro aqui vendo o MI do gloria tocando bateria no Yellowcard KKKK
The guys who sued Juice WRLD, cool
DUDE THE SINGER HAS AGED BACKWARDS... Dude looks exactly the same as he did 20 years ago, Wait what happened to there drummer??
Malcom in the middle singing 😆nah jk, awesome band
Great performance, lol just from a drummers perspective, lower the ride cymbal brother! Sheeesh
100%! I know he’s going for the TB setup, but even he doesn’t play his ride that high
I think this setup is to prevent microphone bleed (signals from the kit that picked up by the other microphones) So the sound engineer has more control over the drumbus and the individual kit.
@@lennert123 then why isn’t this setup the same for every drummer? The ride is loud enough to bleed into every mic anyway
I swear. There’s no practical reason to have it that high. He’s not even riding on it like a crash.
@@lennert123Then if that was the case, it would be way more common between drummers. That isn’t the reason. It’s purely for aesthetics.
Does the violinist still do backflips?

audio engineer needs to be fired
my highschool
they changed the drummer?
Why did this happen? These guys never did anything after this song?
Yeah they did? They released more stuff
The violinist didn't do the backflips
What the h is on Ryan's hand, was that tattoo always there
Who are those old dudes singing that yellow card song? lol Jesus I’m getting old
Drummer became white 💀
Whose idea was it to have massive amounts of reverb on the vocals? I can hardly hear the words.
Wat happen to the old drummer
He started to fart so badly they had to cut him off
😢
man where did they go, one hit wonders
they were very popular for years before ocean avenue, they just weren't mainstream
they weren't one hit wonders lol
Look at how they dress according to their age. Green Day should really learn from them, the spike hair and eyeliners is really a bad look for them 😂
Nah it really isn’t, Green Day shouldn’t change how they dress just because of their age, screw that bullshit. People should be allowed to dress however they want and shouldn’t have to change just because of age
VERY odd ride cymbal placement. My right shoulder aches just watching it.
Bring back the old drummer.
He decided to leave so they can’t just simply bring him back
Best song 😂
