I failed out of college and built my grades back up at a community college. I suffered with depression and self doubt, but today I got accepted back into a big school. I think back to my seven year old self always listening to this song and album. It has been an important song for me and has a great message that I think the world needs to listen to during these weird times.
This isn't really my music, but the last time I heard this I was a teenager at an outdoor concert of theirs in California with my girlfriend on my shoulders and her screaming her lungs out. She's now married with kids and I haven't changed as much as I'd hoped by now. Being pretty unhappy with where my life is, the song kind of has more meaning to me now that it did back then.

Every single time I watch this music video, I'm overcome with emotions every single time when I see the scene of the fans lifting him up when he's about to end it all. Just seeing their hands slowly rise up to catch him after all the heartache he's had to endure up to that point is so amazing. That scene, and the football as an "US VS. THEM" allegory. When he wipes his face to dry the tears after all his fans turn on him. Can't say enough good about this beautiful video and this equally incredible song. Genuinely, I think this may be the best music video ever produced.
i just want to say im really proud of you too, i hope you keep on moving and staying strong, its alright if you fall back, you just have to get back up again, hope you have a great day dude
These bands dont even make similar songs anymore, Paramore went the hippy music route, FOB sellout route, aah i dont even know what bands play these type of radio rock anymore
This hits differently now that I am approaching my 30s. Let me tell you, as someone who has pushed through deep depression, the loss of a relationship, and had my life do a complete 180 from where I expected it to be at this point; Don't lose hope. Embrace the detour. There is something beautiful on the other side of that wreckage. The only way out of the darkness is through it. Cry when you need to, feel the pain, pause if necessary, watch a few k-dramas at 3:00 am and mourn the loss of what could have been, but please don't stay there. One second at a time, one minute at a time, one day at a time. It does get better. I am so glad I didn't give in to the desire to die. It may take a few years, but please hang in there. Whoever you are, you are not alone. Sending virtual hugs to whoever may need them. ❤
Thank you so much, I have been in a terrible situation and these words auctually speak to me. It is tough to move but your line of one second at a time, one minute at a time hit me. Funny when strangers on the internet understand you better than your own family.
I've been on the path of crushing anxiety , really chronic social anxiety & and really bad depression , extreme trust issues and such since I was 7 years old .to this day my cat zoey is my only true friend and I am happy that I adopted her 💗 💕 💓 💖 ❤️
I have no one to talk to rn, hit the lowest point in my life right now. Thank yu so much for the words you've typed in, they really help comfort me and my sadness.
the lyrics give me more meaning now that i'm older. when he said "speak to me" that really hits me. it's like he's ready to hear our stories. sometimes you can't handle life alone and you just need someone to let it out.
When I was in middle school/freshman year of high school with debilitating anxiety, my dad would play this for me on the drive to school and rock out with me to pump me up for the day. Love and miss you dad 💜
When this song was at it's peak, everyone seemed to know it but me. The class I was in was full of the typical back then. Everyone had a label, some were bullied, others were quiet, people usually kept to themselves or their own clique. We had a very important test that day, but the teacher was weirdly kind enough to turn on the radio and play music while we did it. Near the end of the class period, this song came on and everyone seemed to drop their pencils and look at each other. Some started to hum along, others whispered to it quietly. Then as the song progressed, people were singing it louder and louder. I was looking around in awe at how everyone came together over a simple song. I think the teacher mimicked my thoughts and decided not to get angry over it. He let the song play out, cranked it, and everyone sang with a smile on their face. It was hard not to smile with them, even if I didn't know the song. I found the song later on that day and was obsessed with it for a month. I still come back to this song once in a while and remember that memory fondly, getting a nostalgic and sad smile for the days gone by.
If there’s one lesson that all of us 2000s kids learned from listening to the local pop station in the backseat of the car, it’s that when life gets you down, you better mow that damn lawn
2024 25 years old. I didn’t know the meaning of the song until college. Life is going to kick you in the Nuts repeatedly, but the best way to cope is to keep moving foward
Everyone gets this song when the burdern of responsability starts to weight on their shoulders. We're the lucky ones that have begin able to not understand it until adulthood (I'm 25 too lol).
if anyone ever reads this, i hope you have a great day and with all the crap life gives you you are able to stick through it and become a better, stronger person in the end. trust me it sucks, but you can't give up, you have to keep going and eventually it will get better and then you will have won. it may take a while and some patience, but it will be worth the wait.
When this song came out I had been fired from my job and was drinking myself to sleep every night with a bottle of tequila. I was running completely out of hope for any future worth living. This song kept me believing there was something more I could achieve, this song on more than one occasion kept a gun out of my mouth. 11yrs later I have no need to drink to oblivion and I’m leading a team of driven individuals in a field I’m very passionate about. Don’t ever give in to depression. Keep moving and bitter days CAN turn into better days.
I'm proud of you man. Hopefully I can remove alcohol from my life like to someday, I'm in a stressful time of my life rn and drinking seems to numb everything so good. But I see it ruining my relationship. I'm proud of you for getting out of it.
My hands are cold. Are they meant to hold? When I've given up on love? Is there a point on going along with life? Music is one of the few things that keep me going.

In memory of my sweet angel baby Toby Johnson. Sweet child left the world way to soon. This song brings great memories of a child i helped raise for the first 10 years of his life. As a little boy he and his lil sis would run throughout the house scream singing laughing joyous glee this song. They were 5 yr 6ys so they didn't know what they were singing but something about this song made them happy. Dad would listen to this song that's how they heard it. Well tomorrow is the 4 yr anniversary of the world losing the best 18 year old boy the world was yet to meet and love like us lucky few. I LOVE YOU TOBY JOHNSON I MISS YOU SO MUCH ❤😢❤
This song brings back crazy feelings of nostalgia. Came out in 2005 when I was a Junior in high school. Fast-forward 18 years and it’s still amazing but hits completely differently now as a man in my mid-30’s. Wild. Time flies.

@@xemblazonx Keep going my man. I got into a pretty big car accident without insurance because I couldn't afford it with my record and was afraid of losing my mortgage and I was really thinking of calling it quits but songs like this help me to keep moving along.
I just started singing this song today out of nowhere and I was like oh! I haven’t heard that song in ages what are the lyrics anyway and came over to watch the video. Now I’m sobbing because life has been life-ing on hard mode lately and I’ve just been holding it all in. This was just the reminder i needed that I have a community of family and friends around me so I don’t have to shoulder life’s weights on my own and that even if I fall there are people there that will catch me. And God always holds me up and is there when I fall. “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”” Matthew 11:28-30 NLT
i have heard this song so many times, first time i actually had tears in my eyes and went yes. I am "moving along" and that will happen next Friday when i leave the city i have been residing in for 6 years because there is nothing here for me.
Yeah. I was just singing this song out of nowhere a couple days ago. And the past several years, plus several more, has been so challenging. My cancer. Mom died wrongfully, due to nursing home neglect. Friends died. A few by their own hands. Lost my job due to the mandatory pandemic shutdown. Losing everything. Living in a ghetto. No partner. Noone to help me. When does life get better? A neverending struggle.
I was bullied by my crush and his friends in the 10th, and everyday I made myself smile as I walked into school. This song help me stay strong when I heard them laughing at me each time.
"Move Along" was written by Nick Wheeler and Tyson Ritter. Wheeler explained that the song is "an anti-suicide message song about believing in oneself and persevering in the face of problems". According to Wheeler, they wrote the song at a time "when we were at our wits' end wondering if we were ever going to get to make a second record. Our manager and our guy just kept saying, 'Keep writing, keep writing.' All we knew was, hey, man, we wrote 11 songs and that's all we had to our name when we made the first record." Ritter went on to say, "Thankfully [our manager] pushed us to our wits' end, because the last two songs we wrote for our second record were 'Move Along' and 'It Ends Tonight', which were both top ten hits. And it actually became pretty easy writing follow-up hits once the juices started flowing."
"You may look like a hero. You may feel like a hero. You may have new masks, new armor, new equipment. But it's not what you got. It's what you do with it. That makes you... A hero."
"When all you got to keep is strong, move along like I know you do. And even when your hope is gone, move along just to make it through." - Tyson Ritter Words to live by.
The emotion i his face during the whole song expeically when he sings " hands are shaking cold, yout hands are mine to hold" gets me everytime. This song and video is genius. I cant belive i was only 13 when this came. I remember wathing on mtv jams
As a kid I never understood the video and why he was changing scenerios and I liked the song because it was catchy, now as an adult I understand the video and relate to the song so much. No matter what situation you're in, keep it strong and move along ❤️
Everytime life is too heavy to carry on, I listen to that song 20x in a row and somehow it gives me enough strength to not give up on life and go through the day.
Such a good message. Life can be utter shit sometimes and will throw some horrible situations and experiences at you, but if you keep going and move along things, improve and get better gradually In time.
this was my favorite song when i was a kid, listening to the lyrics now almost feels like my younger self was trying to send my current self a message.

This song and album has saved my life more times then I can count. When my family cut ties with me and I had no one, rock bottom and ready to end my life, this came on and i kept pushing. Few days later, met this woman, dated, got married. Flash forward 16 years, she passed away 2022. Just shy of 11 years married, together 16, i was ready to end it. No kids, still no blood family, she was my everything and that was ripped from he at 36 years old, she passed at 32. Again this album saved my life and now its been 2 years and still struggling but this song helps me fight the fight to continue on. Thank you AAR.
2:32 that's the part that hits you right in your soul. Whatever is bothering you in life just hang in there we all going through this thing we call life together.
This song means so much to me. I go into this band because of Bionicle Ignition. Listening to the lyrics and helps me so much. One of the best songs out there.
Love how the lyrics fit that period of the story so well. The Inika/Mahri Toa literally faced the most peril out of any one of the previous generations. They literally went on a suicide mission to save the world, and what's more....they started the journey as regular villagers. But no matter the odds, no matter if they were in some jungle hell, or deep in the ocean trenches, they kept fighting.
Never realized as a kid that this song is about how life kicks you in the balls over and over again, but you need to just keep moving along

When you’re young you like a song for its beats, but when you get older, you appreciate the song for its lyrics and the message behind them
Loved it for the lyrics since it came out. Its message helped me through a LOT of hard times.

"Move Along"
By The All-American Rejects
Lyrics:
Go ahead as you waste your days with thinking
When you fall, everyone stands
Another day, and you've had your fill of sinking
With the life held in your
Hands are shaking cold
These hands are meant to hold
Speak to me
When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
Move along
So a day when you've lost yourself completely
Could be a night when your life ends
Such a heart that will lead you to deceiving
All the pain held in your
Hands are shaking cold
Your hands are mine to hold
Speak to me
When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
Move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong, we move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
When everything is wrong, we move along
Along, along, along, along
When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
When all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do (Know you do)
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through
(Move along)
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
Right back what is wrong
We move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)
Right back what is wrong
We move along
(Go on, go on, go on, go on)

In memory of my sweet angel baby Toby Johnson. Sweet child left the world way to soon. This song brings great memories of a child i helped raise for the first 10 years of his life. As a little boy he and his lil sis would run throughout the house scream singing laughing joyous glee this song. They were 5 yr 6ys so they didn't know what they were singing but something about this song made them happy. Dad would listen to this song that's how they heard it.
Well tomorrow is the 4 yr anniversary of the world losing the best 18 year old boy the world was yet to meet and love like us lucky few.

For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.””

No partner. Our manager and our guy just kept saying, 'Keep writing, keep writing.' All we knew was, hey, man, we wrote 11 songs and that's all we had to our name when we made the first record."
Ritter went on to say, "Thankfully [our manager] pushed us to our wits' end, because the last two songs we wrote for our second record were 'Move Along' and 'It Ends Tonight', which were both top ten hits. And it actually became pretty easy writing follow-up hits once the juices started flowing."
"You may look like a hero. You may feel like a hero. You may have new masks, new armor, new equipment. But it's not what you got. It's what you do with it. That makes you... A hero."
