Most of this rammers just can`t drive or control their cars. But some are typical griefers and have figured out how to ram you in such a way that you get the penalties. I sometimes got 4 seconds.

I think it gives the penalty based on whether your on the games preferred driving line when the incident occurs. It makes no sense when someone dive bombs you then you receive the penalty.
There are Geeter from AR12 community and Nalak the Forza Tuner too. I hope can see NickyPoo play against ISAD, it will be much hilarious when Skill Issue coming after Nick and ramming everyone in process.
Great driving, the control with keyboard looks so much more precise than wheel/pedals. A filthy casual noob saw only one really heartbreaking penalty: The punt of Rusty in the beginning of the second race. Offtracks are a bit diiffcult to determine since you could always wait for a better/bigger opportunity, instead of (sorry exaggerating) diving like Max Verstappen. But this casual noob has never won an online race, gets shoved in the back and slides off and to the end of the field every race (S-Rating, 4.2k), and has lost hope that Turn10 will fix those basic things like: Give a rammer a penalty for making another car slide or offtrack. I hope they ll make a GT for PC someday.
Impressive driving, I wish I understood this game better. Every car I race for S class (800) just gets absolutely destroyed by everyone else in the lobby. It doesn't feel like it's even worth trying if you don't have some AWD meta car.
AWD is easy to drive but not meta. If you want to use meta just check out the Rivals leaderboard. There are a couple of cars 2-3 secs faster than the cars I use.
It's just about good power/handling balance. Try a few different parts till you get something that works well. Take a high-speed car and make it handle well or take a good handling car and make it faster. Some cars that are already default 'S-class' can work but it's normally best to start with a c/b/a PI car and level it up to s. Tuning is key too or finding a good tune at least. Light weight, good aero, decent power. Plus, cars that would be good at a level of racing that matches s in real life normally perform well. Nissan skyline, Mclaren F1, Honda NSX-R, Porsche 911, Chev Camaro's. That sort of thing. Having a bit of knowledge about cars that have been good in other forza games can help too. Edit: And obviously learning over time how to drive well. That'll just come with practice.
Check out Ermz tuning guide. Helped me a lot. The other tuning guides don't consider game physics as much as IRL physics. I have a AMG GTR and a McLaren 620R I spent a few hours upgrading/tuning and they compete at 5k rating against meta cars. (There are definitely some quirks to tuning that wouldn't translate well IRL... like fully stiff anti-roll bars etc..). However, really rewarding when you get a tune right. Also some cars just don't do well in S-Class, metas are bound to creep into higher speed open class lobbies unfortunately. You see all the BMW 1M Pro cars?

I've noticed the penalty system has gotten even more stupid lately, which is why I avoid online now. It's extremely rage inducing when you're minding your own business and someone makes a mistake and crashes onto you, but ONLY YOU get a penalty. Even worse when they do it on purpose...
If u go outside the track bounds dont go full throttle to get back into track if so the game gives u a penalty be sure to ease of the gas as u enter the track
I was in the first race in a ferrari 360, I dropped to the back at the beginning for a more interesting race but due to some questionable racing from other drivers I wasn't able to make up too many places. Hope to get in another race with you at some point!
Good runs, you'd of won both if not for having to wait on so many people. I swear some people fall asleep in the corners. Hope to see ya try the spotlight races out! I'll be hitting them when it drops tomorrow.
It was only that one penalty that seems outrageously unfair. Besides that most the other penalties seemed mostly fair. You ended up still coming in second place which is the position you finished anyway. Good job, that was a nice race
This is easier to watch when I convince myself that Forza is an arcade and not a sim racing game. That way, I can laugh at all the stupidity instead of being pissed off
Game pass it for trial since the option is there. I think it might be worth it for me if I had a good PC or series s/x. But I'm only on a one S cloud playing anyways.

I'm not sure what's been happening these past few days but people are driving like absolute nonces. Leave space, watch the car in front for their braking points, don't shove it up the inside when it's already 3-4 cars wide and if your car is quicker in the corners, doesn't mean you have the right to push through them. It's called race-craft.
The penalty system is bland, but I think a major issue with this game is also the poor sync, sometimes desyncs look as bad as GTA 5 races, which should not be acceptable for the genre this Forza aims. That said, making a good system for penalties is not so easy but also not impossible if you do the correct math, this game seems to oversimplify the calculations too much, it is not even properly accounting for trajectories, the victim of a collision is given an "avoidable collision" penalty, which is funny because as a programmer myself, they probably came with that ambiguous name when they realised how bad the system behaved.

Forza and their crappie penalty system is killing my love for the game... people crash into you, and then you get penalized. Haven't played the game in like 4 days, and I don't think I'm coming back. I'm glad I didn't buy that peace of trash. 🚮
First penalty in second race was total bs, but you deserved all other penalties. U keep pushing others in corners. Probably they got worse brakes and have to brake earlier, but you have to keep distance to avoid that. Also it's possible dirty air behavior and u also have to keep that in mind. That's not the first time when you ram others into the rear in corners.
I think one of the people he shunted was the reason he got the 2.25sec penalty might have been a petty revenge since he quit after the shunt that made him miss a turn entirely I think
Penalty system sucks sometimes but something i have noticed if someone punts you badly,well you get to punt them back as hard as you want penalty free i know this as i got annoyed at some player constantly whacking me in braking zone until he eventually punted me off well that was the end of his race i got 3rd probably would of won, i dont agree with ramming but sometimes a lesson needs to be taught 👍

Also there are medium and short rotating between touring and GT car I think. with longer or custom races available in private lobbies.
