@@runthekidIt's not a driving line. It's a braking point. Only poor drivers trot out that excuse. The braking line does not help you drive the car. It's not a car assist. All it does is help you know when to hit the brakes, which is important when driving different cars all the time, because the braking point changes all the time. Raceboy also uses it and is one of the fastest in lobbies. These people don't beat you because of the braking line. They beat you because they are better.

I watched the Raceboy77 race from his end a couple weeks ago and I mentioned you in chat. He's able to be a lot smoother by using the controller. You would gain a couple seconds a lap if you switched. Mainly from trail braking and being able to feather the throttle. You were on pace everywhere else.
I disagree we have a guy on a wheel that races with us and he is quick and also really good at setting up the settings for the wheel and the tune for the car. He can set some really fast lap times.
Now these are entertaining races, not the ones you usually see beating randoms over and over, even though you handicap yourself from starting last, it's still not enough to give you a good thrill 😂
I think the matchmaking system is finally improving! I’m going against the top level drives much more frequently and seeing a lot of the same names whenever I play. The race has been much more competitive lately and I’m having tons of fun.
I could FEEL your nerves in that 2nd race coming to the line! Those were some clean apexes, you were giving that car all it had, sucks you had a penalty.

That way I could have studied his lines and maybe even come up with a counter later in the race... But I guess ISAD knew he didn't stand a chance against a professional driver given that he was on a keyboard setup... U loose a TON OF TIME every time u try to corner with multiple keystrokes... As they give 100% throttle instead of the gradual and consistent 20-30% throttle u can achieve with a controller or a pedal setup... Same with the steering... U can't replicate the smoothness of a wheel on keyboards... So I guess he was just hoping to defend the entire race... Also also, he had a top speed car against a better handling car... That also meant he couldn't push as much as the rival in corners...
Did really well tbh, really just a couple of chokes per race trying to be faster than you should and going off-track. I bet over a large sample size you'd probably be on pro-player tier (unless those small mistakes keep manifesting)
This is proof that this game's physics are insanely arcadey. A keyboard and mouse has no right to be this good at a racing game where throttle and steering normally require gradual and gradient applications.
Gand turismo CANNOT be played competitively on keyboard... The guys with a wheel WILL get an advantage on tire management, and gradual power application...

Some play with a funky fashion makeup, some have a knack for choosing the weakest builds, some do 360s midway, and so on... ISADs MO is to use a keyboard setup, because in a keyboard u have to be absolutely precise and on point... As the input is a full 100% or 0%... And that takes skill... So its not a case of if ISAD can or can't do with a wheel, its about whether he wants to... I myself play with a keyboard and never have used a controller on any games whatsoever... Also, u could see that ISAD was loosing A TON of time whenever he tried to use gradual throttle by using multiple keystrokes... That absolutely unbalances the center of mass of the car and makes it slide wider than it would have with a controller or an actual pedal setup (this is because there u can use 20% throttle all the time, and not have to use 100% throttle some of the time) Same is the case with steering... U just cant replicate the smoothness of a controller or a wheel... And in competitive games like GT its an absolute necessity... Otherwise even the basic drivers will smoke u in terms of cornering speed... Believe me ive tried... Hope I didn't sound like a bafoon and actually made some sense here...😅

The penalty system is incredibly stupid, 1.8 sec in Suzuka for getting a little off track, and 0.6 sec in Spa going so wide. ( Im not saying he's bad, the penalty system just sucks )
