“Congratulations, you’re a father!” *faints* I’m so glad that she was diagnosed in time. Also glad the baby had such good care! Even at 2 kg, that baby could have benched preemie me (my twin and I were 26 weeks and just under 2 pounds each. We’re both pretty healthy now!)

I had toxemia with my oldest child and had to have her a month early, she weighed 5lbs 2 and 3/4 ozs. and ended up getting jaundice and had to stay in the hospital for a week. She's now 24 years old, married with a little girl that's going to be 3 this weekend.

I was very fortunate with my 2nd child (3rd pregnancy), I'd gone past my due date. The doc had me coming in twice a week. I went to the doc for my check up and my blood pressure was thru the roof. I was admitted and induced. I labored about 3.5 hrs and delivered a healthy, beautiful 7lb 9oz baby girl.
I had Toxemia with both of my kids!! Both were premature.. my oldest almost didn’t make it but by the grace of god she made it

I don't understand why they didn't ask her if she might be pregnant. She clearly had preeclampsia. I am also extremely upset because if she got pregnant in September of '95 that means she gave birth around April of '96. My husband was born in August of '96 and his mother had preeclampsia. The doctors said there was nothing they could do and she died three days later. She was only 16 years old.

My granddaughter was born 15 weeks early. Weighed 1lb 12 ounces. Despite some really scary problems she is now 11 years old and starting high school in September. Still has a few problems like needing hearing aids and she’ll always be a small person but otherwise she’s just like anyone else.
Do you mean middle school? 11 year olds don’t go to high school, high school is 15-18

My mother had severe pre-eclampsia as well, within the last 15 days prior to my birth the placenta stopped working properly and gave me limited supplies. I was born 6 days before due date weighing just 1 kilo and 800 grams, with rosy complexion and even a plumpy shape!
I just had to stay in an incubator for 40 days to reach the minimum weight, but never had any other health issue afterwards.
Yeah, My Daughter was born 2.12, 10 w premmie. Her tummy didn't take food at first, but she's kicking But NOW, 30y later..

So here's the story of my traumatic birth.
I was born at 38 weeks but I was the size of a 30 week old baby. I was tiny and was in very bad condition. My mums placenta had stopped working due to her advanced age so I wasnt growing. As soon as they found out, they induced my mum but I was already on my way and was born in an hour and a half after my mum went into labour. I was nearly born in the lift! She pushed for 5 minutes! But I was born at 4lb 4oz and had to go into the NICU for emergency treatment because I had stopped breathing after about an hour. My lungs were underdeveloped and I was super jaundiced too. I spent 3 weeks in the NICU and eventually was allowed home. I do have a fair amount of health problems but I believe I've just been dealt the unlucky card in life and that most of them dont have anything to do with my mum's pregnancy. I'm nearly 20 now and studying to be a veterinary nurse. I think that all my health problems in the past has lead me to want to do something in the medical field.

I’m 16 and I’m the only child of my family. I am expecting a baby or babies in November. My mom was 18 when she had me and my sister but my sister and mom didn’t make it. My dad got called by my grandma that my mom died. He didn’t know my mom was pregnant. They broke up when my mom was 2 weeks pregnant. My dad didn’t want me so he was thinking of giving me up for adoption. One reason of that cuz he had a side chick that was pregnant. He wanted my half brother more than me. My mom was abused by my father and he didn’t love Me i guess. A couple months after I was born my dad and the side chick got married. My dads side chick wanted me but my dad didn’t. So my “mom” adopted me and she left my dad and left him with child support. To this day I’m still very sad about my real Parents I haven’t seen my dad since last year when he got his side chick and girlfriend pregnant. (Btw my family runs with twins so ahhhh)

Edit: I’m still with my children’s dad.. and we have been together for 3 years so I think he going to stay with me for the whole pregnancy.
Edit: I’m here to say that thank u for the ppl that are positive about my pregnancy. I’m also here to say that I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m saving the money to support my children. My “mother” says that it’s best if I drop out of high school. But I have chosen to stay in school to finish. I have a part time job and that will be a little to support my family.

Please do vaccinate your baby. Do research on well known good websites as to how vaccines work. Many people were vaccinated and just fine. My brother WASNT vaccinated, yet he has autism. Me and my sister were vaccinated, and we’re just fine.

I had preeclampsia with my first daughter. I was on bed rest for a few months. My feet would get so huge. She is lucky that is didn’t get worse. It’s a very scary thing to have.

the baby is causing eclampsia which is the reason for her vision disturbance, so after delivering the baby, everything came back normal

I was born 2 or 3 months early I'm a twin I almost died from being sick but the doctors put me and my twin together then we were both perfectly fine idk how it happened but I'm thankful for that miracle
I went through the same thing with my 1st baby. Stupid Dr didn't pay attention to my high bp. Ten days later I have seizures, and an emergency C-section at 3 am. In a drug induced coma for 2 days. Baby born at 33 weeks and was 3lb 2 ounces. We both came out of it but recently a CT scan revealed a dead section in my brain. This has affected some of my memory but reminders have filled in what I lost.

It happened to my cousin. She was at a family gathering when she suddenly fell ill, in excruciating pain. She thought she had appendicitis, etc. Her parents took her to hospital, which was miles away. On the way, in the car, she was screaming in pain, thought she was going to die. She was terrified, as were her parents/siblings. She arrived at hospital thinking the worst. They got her on a guerney as she was just about to crown. She was in deep shock. We were all in disbelief. She never had a pregnant belly. But had complained for months about back pain. I never would have believed it until it happened to someone close to me. Her baby boy is now a proud dad of his own. ❤
It always makes me kinda sad that the mother's of those videos always say that if they'd known they're pregnant they would have eaten healthy, stopped smoking or drinking alcohol... But why wouldn't they just do it for themselves? For example I never started smoking. I stopped drinking alcohol and I turned vegan a few months ago so that's why I began to pay attention to what I eat and I eat much more vegetables and legumes and fruits now! Because I realized I (obviously) care about myself. I love myself and I want to be healthy. Of course it's wonderful if you start to care for your baby while beeing pregnant. But there's no reason to not care for yourself even when you're not. Be good to yourself! ✌ You're worth it too! And your mother's will be thankful too 💖💖

How do you deal with being blind? The answer is one day at a time, just like everyone else. You adapt to losing your vision. It’s not the end of the world like most people think. I’m glad this wasn’t the case for this woman because adjusting is hard. But, you have to do what you have to do no matter how hard it is, trust me. This is something I’m living with and I’m doing just fine.

I had doctors tell me I was constipated when I was having abdominal issues and my mom knew something was wrong but the doctors said everything was fine they only believed me and my mom when I started throwing up blood and that’s when they found out I had a very serious infection

What kind of infection was it?
If someone is seen in the hospital, especially for something this serious, it is up to the doctors to perform every test there is to determine what is going on with their patient.

My mum had toxemia with me, she had to deliver me at 33 weeks. I'm 29 this year and neither of us had any long term effects :)

I know exactly what this is like it's very dangerous I had it with all three of my pregnancies. Thankfully all my children are okay my oldest one is the one who had the most problems for the first 3 weeks of her life. But now she is a grown woman with Children of her own.

worst thing with preeclampsia is,u might not show a single sign that u have it until delivery.i didnt until my birth start and they had to make an emergency c-section.all my organs shut down on the operation table.they saved my life after long battle on that table.when i woke up,i was blind and i stayed blind for almost a week as a side effect of preeclampsia.then my vision came back.they gave me bloosd trnsfusion for 5 days literally non stop.especially first pregnancy,mothers have to be very alert and careful about signs and check ups.
I had postpartum preeclampsia it’s so scary I was in the hospital for about a week twice .. I’m currently pregnant 🤰 and so worried it’s gonna happen again .. That lady is real lucky this condition is a killer if u don’t catch it in time ..

@melanie michaud because we mean the real people now. Her mom looks way younger than her daughter. It might just be that the daughter has very grey hair which obviously ages you or she just got unlucky in the aging department.

It’s hard for me to conceptualize these stories. As a woman, pregnancy does so many things to disrupt the body that the first thing I would administer is a pregnancy test. I mean, literally anything health wise, can be attributed to pregnancy.
this scares me, because I had 3 children & I had preeclampsia with my 2 oldest & with.my 3rd I had to have him early because my blood pressure was getting on the high side once again! but now I have 3 beautiful children, all I wanted was a healthy full term pregnancy without and issues

When I was born I was 2 months early, I was told I weighed 4lbs 12oz, 21 inches long the only reason I was that long is because my legs were a little longer, my dad used to nickname me long legged Sally. I dropped down to 4lbs couldn't leave the hospital till I gained back up to a certain amount of pounds, I also got jaundice, I am now 34 years old.

When the husband said the baby was about 4 pounds and about 6 weeks premature i just laughed. When I was born it was early January I was supposed to be born in late April or early May and I was 1 pound 8 ounces and had to stay in the hospital for the first three month of my life!
