A big part of pain is anxiety. If you don't expect labour, you don't expect pain, right? That might be why.
Feeling of fear during labor is totally normal and relevant ..birth is not an easy-peasy situation..you can lose the baby and even die. Another thing that women experience a lot of pain through life...and many women have very painful periods. Mine is ridiculous painful and bloody..very similar to birth cramps.

"My arm fell off" period cramps
"I'm pregnant" nah it's just period cramps
Mine are anyway. I have to take "I just got out of surgery" level meds and I'm still dying for a week every month. If I get off on my med cycle I won't be able to do anything for the rest of the day until I can take the pain meds during a moment of peace. Because most pain meds don't work if you take them when you are already in bad pain.

She's not the only nurse who didn't know she was pregnant. There was a couple I knew. She was a nurse and he was a medical social worker. They couldn't understand why she was sick all the time. I suggested that she might be pregnant, and the light went on. Lo and behold, she was indeed pregnant, about 8 weeks along. :)

I also had a similar condition I didn't knew I was pregnant untill 8months..I was having terrible gas though I feel bloated for months I did crunches,I even slept on my stomach everyday I thought it will help with the bloating😂 thank God the baby is normal with no complications.
Same here! I’m super active I don’t have washboard abs but relatively flat stomach and for months felt bloated but didn’t get big. I found out at 35weeks and everything turned out okay :)
