  • I love customized & simple tools that work! This fuel system pressure tester built by my friend Mark helped us correctly diagnose where diesel was leaking into my Cummins N14 crankcase.
The best things are often the simplest; in this case, a short section of steel fuel line & a paint gun air pressure regulator did the trick.
Unfortunately, we did end up having to replace one of the cylinder heads on my truck over the weekend, but hey; we could confidently dive into the project knowing we could handle the repair ourselves AND conform the fix upon reassembly.
Follow along start to finish on the job, I’ll explain the process as we go. Most of the other tools & adjustments in the video are common and readily available.
I do not interact with the comments section of RUclips or Facebook.

N14 was the best Cummins motor ever made arguably the best most they ever made. I loved the Red Top Cummins I had in a past truck I drove.

Ask a trucker and you know you stuff is the best thing. Save a lot of time and money. Wish I have a big garage so I can work on my truck in basic things when I need it. I like it done in certain way

Great diagnosis and troubleshooting ! Nice sounding N14 , it’s amazing the difference in sound from the NTC 855 to the N14 , then you have the ISX to the X15. Nice work.

So cool!!! As an automotive technician, I don't get to work on this stuff like this, and I have been considerin' gettin' my CDL and a truck of my own, so this is fascinatin' to me.

Intersting way of doing an injector test w dye. Ive seen it where they take a fuel line loose, pour the dye in and pressurize it from the fuel filter side, and look. I have the same issue now on a 3406e. In my case we didnt see any fuel coming out of the injectors. Hope its not the head.

Watching this video I'm trying to figure out my N14 525. Has a shudder after pulling a gear then upshift. I could hear it in the exhaust but felt like a clutch shudder. Just lost on direction. Has about 450k on a Cummins recon. Thinking fuel pump thinking injectors thinking sensors no codes
