Good point. Stayed tuned though, over the next several days I'm pulling out the lead vocal clips on all the reviews I've done and putting them in a playlist together. I know most people looking to purchase a nice compressor have vocals in mind so I want to make it easier for everyone to be able to cycle through and listen to all the compressors I've reviewed on the channel quickly. I hope you'll find it useful!
@@productionrescue2928 You're so welcome! Unfortunately, I haven't used the Acme before. Off the top of my head, I've used the AudioScape, Stam, TubeTech CL-1A and CL-1B, Buzz Audio Essence and Chandler TG Opto. Probably some more I've forgotten about haha. The TubeTech was probably my favorite of the bunch but they have gotten WAY overpriced in my opinion. The Buzz is my favorite on a budget! As far as straight LA2A clone, the Stam is hard to beat! I hope that all helps 👍🏼
Yes, you would start fully clockwise and then turn it back sort of like a threshold to get it to focus more on the high end. It makes it really flexible!
Sure and thanks for asking! It was a Korby KAT with the 67M capsule into a Shadow Hills Quad Gama Preamp on the Iron setting and lastly it hit a bit of a Serpent Audio Splice MKII during tracking. Thanks for checking out the video!
Nice, I like how it still sounds natural even with that amount of compression.
I’m convinced that it doesn’t matter how you process Patrick’s vocals. It’s always gonna be good enough.

Greetings Josh, do you like this unit best for that La2a thing best or is there a unit you’ve tried you preferred?
My favorite La2a clone I’ve heard is the Stam Audio version 👍🏻
@@SeawellStudiosThank you so much for that insight.
Have you by chance tried the Acme XLA-3?

What should the default setting for the HF dial for vocals. All the way clockwise?

Do you mind sharing the chain used to record the vocal? Is the mic a U67? Thanks!
