As someone who has spent their life as a television news producer, my time in San Diego was so much fun. Wish their salaries could match the cost of living or I would've never left.
Seems affordability is just awful right now. It seemingly is all of western civilization, not just California. Even highly skilled professionals with good jobs can’t afford the cost of living. This is not normal.
San Diego native but life long LA Dodger fan. I discovered your podcast during Mets vs Dodgers NLCS. You guys absolutely rock. I continue to watch you guys even though I can careless about the Mets but ur delivery, your knowledge of the game of baseball is so impressive. I along with other doyer fans wish you guys would make it move to SoCal and you will love reporting on a winning team. I'm sorry but unless Juan Soto gets some protection, you will always be a wild card team. Last yr they over achieved and wouldn't be surprised if they don't even make the playoffs. Please come back n make SoCal ur permanent home!
Dodgers fan here, and I was born and raised in LA but San Diego is the only other city I would live in this country. The weather is absolutely perfect year round
Dodgers fan here, a middle aged woman from NY wearing a Mets shirt came into the grocery store i work at in Hollywood, and I told her about your show, and how great it is. Also, really glad you enjoyed San Diego. It's really amazing there.👌
Welcome back! As a life long LA Resident and as someone who travels to NY all the time for work (and loves the City) A Good Hell and Bad Heaven are very apt descriptions. Again, welcome back and may the best team land Sasaki!
Happy New Year Ashley and Samantha.🥳🎉Glad to hear your trip to San Diego went well. Manaea and Montas, who were teammates in Oakland back reunited again. Surprised the Mets went the direction of attempting to make Clay Holmes a starter instead of resigning Luis Severino or bringing in Corbin Burnes. Two high level free agents in Alonso and Santander still surprisingly unsigned. Great that you are back.
Interesting you mention the Francisco Lindor trade. A month or so ago the Cleveland Guardians traded Andres Gimenez to the Blue Jays and a year and a half before that they dealt Amed Rosario. Gimenez and Rosario were the two players the Guardians got back for Lindor. So fair to say that the Mets clearly got the better of that trade and Cleveland regrets not signing Lindor to a Jose Ramirez like extension, if in fact that was ever a viable possibility for them.
With the terrible news out of LA , I know baseball is very secondary. However, at the appropriate time I would be interested in hearing if the fire catastrophe will have any long term impact on the Dodgers and Angels. Would be great to hear from the LA commenters as well.
In fairness to Manaea, that is exactly how Chris Sale learned how to throw like Chris Sale too 😂😉 He talked about it on The Compound Podcast. He used to be a traditional over the top thrower all the way up to his Sophomore season in college. He played summer ball in the Northwoods League that year and saw a pitcher throwing from the 3/4 slot he uses now. Chris copied him and used that windup going forward. Edit: Welcome back ladies, I'm glad you enjoyed it out here 😊 Now back to the ice box with you 😂😂😂
I grew up in LA and lives in Orange County, obviously a Dodgers fan. But, I went to school at NYU and lived/worked in Manhattan for 14 yrs. NYC is great for people in their 20's and early 30's and I loved living in Manhattan. I did end up rooting for the Mets because most of my friends are Yankees fans - enough said. But, I missed the SoCal lifestyle - always sunny in SoCal with low 70s weather (dependent on location). Almost anywhere in SD, OC, or LA you're on the beach surfing in the morning, then drive 2 hours to the mountains to ski on the same day. Even driving on a freeway where you can see the ocean on the right and the mountains with snow caps on the left. So much to do and eat year-round.
LA, SD, SF are all beautiful, unique places, like so many other CA places. My family has Dodgers, Padres, and Giants fans. It’s so much fun. Of course I’m a Dodgers fan so I may enjoy it a bit more than my family members to the north and south.
Welcome back. San Diego - and SoCal as a whole - is a laid back vibe compared to the east coast. Sunshine almost all year round. I'm glad you two could take it all in and enjoy the trip. Hope you make another trip in the future.
Having not seen any new videos pop up from you two made me think RUclips unsubscribed me from your channel. I heard that happens. Anyways glad to see some new content
You two are still adorable and brilliant. You know you need to come to California. Don’t even think about doing a Padres pod cast. Dodger fans love you, we need you here. You’ll love it, I promise.
I love the two of you working out of Syracuse, but only a selfish fiend would want to hold back your careers. I’m sure you’ll both eventually move to a bigger market. But us Upstaters need to enjoy this while we have you!
I love the two of you working out of Syracuse, but only a selfish fiend would want to hold back your careers. I’m sure you’ll both eventually move to a bigger market. But us Upstaters need to enjoy this while we have you!
Word of the day : tantalizing. I'm tantalized to give it a rest ...besides that, hell of a work girls !...and greetings from a portuguese guy who lives in Spain, so you made it across the Atlantic Ocean, congrats !...and Go Dodgers !!!...
Really hoping SportsNetLA pulls a “Wayne’s World” and purchases this podcast and brings these ladies’ talents to sunny SoCal. They already know more about the Dodgers than Plaschke & Shaikin combined.
Ill take a bad heaven on the west coast. Glad you had fun!

And the Dodger hate down here grows every year. They hate us cause they ain’t us. 💙🧢🏆 So as always, appreciate your input on Mets, Dodgers, and baseball as a whole! Cheers from SD!
Lot of dodgers fans here.. which is actually nice...Mets fan here..Ive been thinking that Alonzo will be gone..and Alex bregman will be on the team.. inevitable.. but you ladies are doing a great job..no matter what happens
Been all over the world, SD is my fav city. I live in LA, and its way too big to generalize it in 1 sentence. There are great areas, and lousy areas. SD/UTC/La Jolla/Del Mar is just great all around.
Socal viewer here: spent 7 years in Ithaca, definitely a good-hell but, one morning, I couldn't find my car after the previous night's snowstorm and the novelty waned.
Baseball updates from my favorite east coast girls. It doesn’t get any better than this for this Dodgers fan. Ah, and you girls were in California? I thought I felt a disturbance in the force (in a good way) 😊
I give Manea alot of credit. He had his best season of his career, and did not ask for the moon in resigning with the Mets. On the other hand, Alonso had the worst season of his career, yet was asking for a 200 million+for 9 years. Insane!
Even as a lifelong Dodgers fan San Diego is a great city I wouldn’t be surprised if you sign Jack Flaherty to a 3yr deal for 75 million unfortunately he and Walker Buehler were odd men out with the Dodgers if you don’t sign Alonso you might have to look at Anthony Santender from Baltimore but he is a left handed power sandwich Vientos in between him and Soto could work was wondering how you felt about the Dodgers signing Comforto? Happy New Year ladies keep up the fantastic podcast
Happy new year. LA is on fire 🔥, literally. Its bad. Hope you ladies stay safe and good luck this year. Also SD is beautiful in its on right, but Padres suck. 😂😅 Blessings from hell rn, LA is apocalyptic at the moment.
Hilton Bayfront is our go to hotel when taking the family to SD for the weekend…..Hotel and bar are amazing…the restaurant on the bottom floor is Mid. So I’m a die hard Dodgers fan and Washington State Cougar…..with the entire coaching staff, starting QB and 19 other starters in the portal that was not a fair game for either team. Obviously Syracuse is happy with the victory (Congratulations) but they played a glorified JC team. The Portal sucks.
Another Dodger fan here checking in. So, glad you ladies enjoyed San Diego and, in particular, the 'Gaslamp Quarter' as it's called. Luv it down there as well. I just can't stand the Padres. Lol
Is going to be an issue with Kim on the Dodgers that the Japanese and Korean WBC teams notoriously hate each other on a Michigan/Ohio State type level?
Roki and Japanese pitchers work a 6th man rotation. Are the mets willing to do this. The Dodgers already planned out a 6th man rotation for the 2025 season
I'm concerned that Boras is sending the wrong message trying to get more years at lower AAV than the 3/90 the Mets reportedly offered, that's sending a strawng message that they expect Alonso to drop off hard in the coming years.
Still worried about the Mets pitching. With Alonso I’ll give him the money if he’s willing to take 3 or 4 years. They’re one big bat from having a lineup and can go compete with then Dodgers.
Mets can probably get Alek Manoah for cheap from the bumfuzzled Blue Jays, as he won’t be back until August. That’s important because it would allow the Mets to run out Manoah, Manaea ‘n’ Montas, which would please the capricious baseball gods.
Andre Gimenez has been an above average player for Cleveland. 16.7 WAR in 3 years as a starter. Pete Alonso has 14.3 WAR over the last 4 years. Marte 3.8 war in his 3-year Mets career. Jeff Mcneil has 11 WAR in 4 years since the trade. Finally, Brandon Nimmo is the only one who comes close to Gimenez with 14.7 WAR since the trade (4 years). Cleveland got themselves a good player, Gimenez is no Lindor-level talent but he's very good.
San Diego Padres are in complete meltdown mode with the ownership lawsuit. I'm a Dodger fan yes but also a baseball fan. No one benefits from a Padre team that is in danger of becoming non competitive or worst case scenario a judgement to sell the team. With ownership cases taking so long to resolve this might be a slow painful death for the Padres, like the Dodgers had with Frank McCourt. Superstars are not going to sign or renew contracts when ownership is in litigation. If this was the A's who cares but the Padres are a top 5 team going through this is not good for baseball.
Maybe I'm being paranoid/insecure but between the heavy influx of Dodger fans and yall gushing about SoCal I feel like the boyfriend who can sense he's about to get cheated on
Sasaki ain’t as dumb as Soto 😂 and even still you guys need so much bullpen and starting pitching cause current players are not the answer if you really think that you really are delusional Fans

I don't believe you. Middle-aged women are not allowed to walk freely in L.A., at least that's what I've heard.
Welcome back! As a life long LA Resident and as someone who travels to NY all the time for work (and loves the City) A Good Hell and Bad Heaven are very apt descriptions. Again, welcome back and may the best team land Sasaki!
May the Mets land him. Screw everybody else. LET'S GO FUCKING METS.
@ I thought for sure he was coming to the Dodgers, but now I’m not so sure…
Dodgers fan here, now permanently interested in hearing Mets updates :)
I couldn’t have said it better 😂
Same! Glad you gals are back!
Facts!
I put them on mute and listen to dodger talk.
Y’all gotta stop saying “dodgers fan here.” We get it, they’re pretty & yall want them to acknowledge you
If you really want to understand LA as a bad heaven, just crank up that Randy Newman "I love LA" 🙌
Glad you ladies enjoyed SoCal.

Missed you guys posting every other day 😢
Yankee fan here, good episode keep it up 👍🏾
Happy NEW YEAR to you, girls!! Signing MANAEA was a must. They should have signed also SEVERINO.
Having not seen any new videos pop up from you two made me think RUclips unsubscribed me from your channel. I heard that happens. Anyways glad to see some new content
Bayfront is a great hotel. Ive stayed there covering SD comiccon.
Hey there a blurry little spot in the Sam’s camera, you can see the blur on the Mets Jersey behind!
Love the show and welcome back
I love the Mets
You two are still adorable and brilliant. You know you need to come to California. Don’t even think about doing a Padres pod cast. Dodger fans love you, we need you here. You’ll love it, I promise.
Expect LA is a piece of 💩 and California’s dump. San Diego is the epitome of Southern California, clean, low crime, no graffiti.
Lmao brilliant is crazy 😂
I love the two of you working out of Syracuse, but only a selfish fiend would want to hold back your careers. I’m sure you’ll both eventually move to a bigger market. But us Upstaters need to enjoy this while we have you!

“Excellent”
I’d be sad to see them leave Syracuse, but I’m sure it would be a great opportunity for them.
Ill take a bad heaven on the west coast. Glad you had fun!

So as always, appreciate your input on Mets, Dodgers, and baseball as a whole! Cheers from SD!
JUAN SOTO is supposed to be the METS' CROWN JEWEL and needs protection in the lineup and only ALONSO can give that protection.
But, Pete is asking for nine years and his production has declined last year. No team is going to pay him that much.
The best and hottest Mets channel on RUclips!!! You GO girls!!!
You two didn’t get a chance to visit Coronado Island? They had Xmas lights show there.
🙏🙏🙏Roki🙏🙏🙏
Lot of dodgers fans here.. which is actually nice...Mets fan here..Ive been thinking that Alonzo will be gone..and Alex bregman will be on the team.. inevitable.. but you ladies are doing a great job..no matter what happens

San Diego is one of the most gorgeous cities on the planet and I say that as an LA lifer.
Ladies... It's Bob Nightengale... enough said!!
Mets shopping list for the bullpen:
Tanner Scott, David Robertson, Brooks Raley, & Ryne Stanek.
Baseball updates from my favorite east coast girls. It doesn’t get any better than this for this Dodgers fan. Ah, and you girls were in California? I thought I felt a disturbance in the force (in a good way) 😊
Getting Manaea back just felt right for the Mets. And I hope Alonso re-signs too.
I give Manea alot of credit. He had his best season of his career, and did not ask for the moon in resigning with the Mets. On the other hand, Alonso had the worst season of his career, yet was asking for a 200 million+for 9 years. Insane!
I love both of ya but Ashley be having me weak 😂
As a native New Yorker who moved to Cali years ago, there are plenty of beautiful places here with great weather. None of those places are in LA.
The Dodgers are going to get Tanner Scott...😘
Dodgers fan here. You gals are great! San Diego is great! What do think of the Problems with the Padres? Keep up the good work!
Great episode! I have to believe Pete's wife would want to stay in NY. #wiveshaveasay
千賀の怪我を 気遣ってくれてありがとう 佐々木朗希がメッツに入るとローテーションが万全になるね。
Go Dodgers. Born in San Diego, grew up in the Southbay in the 70’s. You girls barely scratched the surface in SoCal. IYKYK

For the love of God bring back Stanek
Yay…. You brought back a pitcher. You will over pay Guerrero Jr also or nobody will play w Soto!
Maybe I'm being paranoid/insecure but between the heavy influx of Dodger fans and yall gushing about SoCal I feel like the boyfriend who can sense he's about to get cheated on

Linder the past 4 years:

so why are you Mets fans ?
Dads?
"Dodger fan here. . ."
Bregman is not the answer to protect JUAN SOTO. HE LACKS THE POWER.
TANNER SCOTT will never be a MET unless STEVE COHEN steps in and does the negotiating and signing. CHEAPSTAKE STEARNS will not sign TANNER SCOTT.
Hello ladies good to see you guys Dodgers fan here
