With a new translation by Steven Edis, and with ever-continued relevance, a song about the vanishing cultures of displaced people. The penultimate number in Edis' show "Dancing On the Volcano: In Search of German Cabaret." Written by Mischa Spoliansky well after the war, for a show called Katharina Knie, and sung here by Patricia Hammond and Dale Rapley. Holt Festival, 2024.

Pity someone didn't do a musical interlude during that on a moothie! I think I tuned in half-expecting it. I used to play a moothie when I was young. Chromatic moothies are expensive these days 😕
