The lack of respect for Canon sums them both up.
Literally nothing in this show has contradicted actual canon.
@@c-hildy lol are you watching the acolyte asleep?
@@Noqtis Not at all. But all the canon nonsense is just that, nonsense. Nothing has broken canon yet. Legends? I mean, a minor character's birthday as presented on a 1999 cd-rom, maybe. Canon? No.
@@c-hildy Ki-Adi Mundi is in the prequel movies not some fringe merch. His character appearing is the literal definition of breaking the canon. Not only wasn't he alive but if he was, his dialog in the prequels don't make any sense at all. Zero consistency. You just don't see it because you are a tourist and not a fan. Look, I'm not a fan I just grew up on this shit. If I notice canon breaking in SW shit is beyond repair. Like I don't even care, shit is just cringe. I mean... The power of ONE, the power of TWO, the power of mAaAaAaAaAanieeee buhahahabahababahahahahahah star wars was geeky but it was cool. If you are a zoomer and a fan of this I'm sure the other zoomer will make you drink toilet water lmao
@@Noqtis lol are you watching the acolyte asleep?
It’s not about a birthday it’s about how he’s alive during a time he shouldn’t and then sits on the Jedi Council and says nothing of these events when a Sith is brought up.
Why shouldn't he be alive during this period? So far Ki-Adi Mundi has not heard about any Sith
The story isn't over yet. Wait till episode 8.
@@Hollowshape nah you’re totally right 8 Jedi getting wiped out definitely doesn’t raise any red flags. Children conceived by the force and being trained way too old definitely doesn’t make yoda think twice about anakin at all. Only two master who are present during this time 100 years prior to maul coming about saying absolutely nothing lmao
@@shotnuke Again, the story of The Acolyte hasn't concluded yet. Wait till episode 8.
@@Hollowshape we’re 5 episodes in and and 1 of the masters knows what’s going on here. And the entire Jedi council by the very least knows about the twins seeing as they over see who comes in and doesn’t come in to the Jedi order. Otherwise why bring anakin and say anything at all.
@@Hollowshape also if you want to go down the Jedi are afraid of losing power and lie route that won’t work either. If you’re talking about gaining power nothing will get it to you faster than establishing a threat someone needs to take care of and you’re the only solution. They have no power to gain by hiding the Sith lol. Thats like my department arguing to give us more money because there is no fires in our city. Doesn’t make sense.
You did not tell the truth to her. The Mundi is not only about birthsday. But also that in the phantom menace they have not heard about the sith for 1000 years. But apprenetley Mundi meet the sith before and did not tell the jedi council in phantom menace.
So far he has not met any sith ffs! Grow a brain. The show isn't over. You don't know if Ki adi will be left wondering why the jedi was killed. Shit! there can a number of way it can go that makes the Jedi on Coruscant think it was something else. Ever heard about coverups????
As of now he has no actual inclinations a sith, it's a literal non issue
Also important to note that no one in that small council meeting scene neither he or vanestra says the word “sith” with everyone is instantly ready to say “rouge jedi” and “splinter order”
@@TheDrunkSith A most excellent point.
@@niklbauglir Yeah, cause they are not supposed to be back. If any of the sith from this time would've known of this dude they would've flayed him, and that's being nice. Which is then fucking moronic when the head cow herself outs him as a sith in this interview.
I really hope this show doesn't get a second season. There's so much awful writing, and it's pretty obvious that she doesn't care about the star wars universe. If she had read anything about the history of that universe, maybe the show could've done better, but she is appearently too narcissistic to see the flaws of her own creation.
What exactly about Star Wars that she doesn't understand.
@@thehacker4012 Character development, Ki-adi-mundi birthday, Doesn't care about the difference between evil and good, creating a new coven of force users that can easily create life with the force without giving any proper lore or interesting characters, killing the same coven with a fire that can burn a fortress made entirely of STONE, making the evil twin to change sides in a blink of an eye, focusing more on her queer identity than actual story telling, and the list goes on.....
@@thehacker4012 As well as hiring a bunch of actors that did not know anything about the lore of the universe of star wars, giving her wife one the main roles of the series (nepotism) instead of hiring a skilled actor, and trying to convince the majority of the fans that she isn't a hack director.
@@hermesonjunior2105 Everything you said was wrong. Ki Adi Mundai birthday was NEVER canon, there is nothing in Star Wars lore that says that witches can't create life (in fact it would highly unlikely that no other force users have done this before), stone can catch on fire depending on the type of stone, Mae didn't change sides in the blink of eye it was established, no one says the word "queer" in any of the episodes. I tried to follow the Acolyte. Unfortunately was not a Star Wars I could enjoy.. And that's okay if it's for the new generation now. But I'll keep trying to watch, and hopefully you'll make one, I and my kids can connect with.

Good interview! 2 questions: 1. What was the process/priorities for selecting episode writers? Did the writers come up with the scripts independently - or did they collaborate closely with one another and/or Headland? Show seems to lack narrative consistency (like the writers were siloed or compartmentalized). Episodes were surprisingly disjointed. 2. Was anyone else considered for Stenbergs part? Some great acting and action in this (Manny, Jung-jae, Keen). But Stenbergs (specifically) acting is shockingly flat. Weird that Headland is talking up her 'genius' so much. She seems the least expressive, enthusiastic, emotive, developed and authentic character in the entire show. I don't understand.
Very well said. Unfortunately you’ll now be considered an istaphobe of some sorts
Not joking but one of the writers didn't even know anything about Star Wars.
Do your own shows and franchises and raise them to the top, stop messing with all successfull shows, steal their big budgets and make them unwatchable for the fans ...
You are the worst thing to happen to Star Wars.
Disney needs to have people who actually care about Star Wars to write and direct Star wars. People who are fans first and have studied the material. This show is atrocious.
Osha and Mae. Twins, clones? Not original (as LH recognizes), but it was an effective twist and can evolve in to something new.
Lighwip? Could be used to improve some kind of action and pass a certain message. Cool.
Jedi Order secrets and political battles? Not original, but ok.
Sol and Torbin as broken characters because of their past? Sure, but being broken because of a reaction against a witch threat or because a simple desire to return to Coruscant? Mehhhhh, boring...
All points relationed with Brandok story are boring as shit. Doing that with grey characters shows a lack of creativity.
Qimir? Worst sith in hinding (even Palpitane and Anakin were better hiden in the prequels)
If you want to show how the Jedi Order were already corrupted and blind, look to Vatican dark stories and theiy hipocrisy. Why not showing some other jedis breaking their vote of celibacy? Why not show a pedophile jedi as old Qimir master? Why not going deeper in a show about the dark side?
Is there going to be a part 2? It seemed like the interview was still going at the end?
It was just Rachel saying goodbye so we had it fade out!

Since when are women’s “arms” objectified onscreen? It’s never about something as harmless as “arms,” and you know it.
I really like your point about the “seduction” of the dark side. Because getting what we want more than anything in the galaxy could push someone towards the dark side. Very thought provoking thank you! I really enjoy the stranger he is fantastic please more of him! 🥵
Manny is an incredible actor! Stole the show to be honest. Loved his character in The Good Place too. Wide range. 10/10.
Interesting interview. Always nice to the creator and their perspective 👍🏻
It's great seeing Leslye share her thoughts after some of the episodes when she isn't sworn to secrecy on everything. Can't wait to see the rest of the season and the interviews after when we can really dig in on all the details!
What details though? This interview proves one thing, Leslie isn't qualified for a project like this. Mae literally tried to kill her sister and has the gull to tell Osha "it's the Jedi's fault!" Also Mae: I'm wrong, I'm going to turn myself in, nevermind, I'm going to kill this Padawan, take my sister's identity in the dumbest way possible to kill again. Mae makes no sense. Osha makes no sense. Hellbent on proving her innocence, immediately falls for the bad guy after one sob story in 10 minutes. Osha should have brain damage after getting knocked out so much. The concept of time no longer matters, seeing as in every new Disney SW, you can get to any planet within 20 minutes. Qimir took out multiple knights in quick succession but struggled with a Padawan? Why did Sol stand back while the Padawan was stabbed instead of forcing pulling the Sith away like he had done already?
@@joevile240 I think its absolutely abysmal how they show force powers. It's like all the jedi forget they have telekentic powersss what the hell 180mil for this show!! The jedi or just too late or they have the most unimpressive shot. Example when osha falls from the ice why does he take a full min to hold her feet stuck to the wall. ITs so cheap why does sol almost purposely not use the force to save both osha and mae he runs to grab her hand wtf hahahaah he knew mae was psychotic probably from the witch emblem on her head
Yeah....I think its great seeing this interview...we need more of this embaressment,so hilarious :D
@@TheShortVers Yes for reaaal
I really hate how overly politicized the Star Wars fanbase have become. If you love TLJ but hated TROS then you're a leftist, if you hated TLJ but love TROS then you're Trump supporter or a centrist. It is so bizarre and makes having an honest conversation about modern Star Wars impossible.
It has nothing to do with that. The sequel as shown in recent interviews with the actors that it wasn’t planned out at all. You have 7 which did a remake of episode 4 then you have 8 that diverted off of what JJ wrote and did its own thing. Then 9 where JJ was pissed at ryne Johnson and undid everything he layed out cause it went against what JJ layed out. So all we got was a pissing contest between two directors and no story (which broke the OT and PT characters as a result) this show is just the nail in the coffin.
@@shotnuke That's a narrative that has been passed around by the internet but is NOT backed by any fact. The original trilogy also did NOT have a plan and yet those films still managed to beloved.
Also, Abrams didn't undo anything Rian did in those film. If Abrams wanted to undo everything Rian did then why did he keep the force connection between Rey and Kylo? Why did keep Luke dead if he wanted to undo everything Rian did?
The people who think TROS undid everything Rian did don't understand the theme of TLJ. Here is a summary from The Week that explains it. v
In The Rise of Skywalker, Abrams dramatically revises the information we learned in The Last Jedi. We now find out that not only did Rey's parents not sell her for drinking money, but they weren't unimportant people at all, as her father was actually the son of Emperor Palpatine. They were "nobodies" because they were doing their best to hide from that past. Already, the reveal is proving to be highly controversial, with many seeing it as an explicit rejection of the ideas Johnson communicated.
Yet The Rise of Skywalker ultimately does arrive at essentially the same thematic conclusion. Had The Last Jedi built its key reveal around denying Rey an easy answer about her identity, only for The Rise of Skywalker to provide her with exactly that easy answer by making her the daughter of Luke Skywalker or another hero, that would feel like an unforgivable departure. It would come as a comfortable reassurance to Rey that she's a special, noble person with a predetermined role in the story of the rebellion.
Instead, learning that she is the descendent of pure evil is another hard truth, and just as in The Last Jedi, it again forces Rey to find her own place. All throughout The Rise of Skywalker, Rey is encouraged by Kylo Ren not to do so and to simply accept the fact that her bloodline determines who she is. Instead, Rey's journey concludes with a powerful dismissal of her heritage.
@@thehacker4012 you do realize the actors did interviews talking about this right? You can actually watch them. Also the story’s contradict one another. There are no contradictions in the OT to the PT. Also George Lukas took years to write these stories. Disney did it in a year and the actually story line of 7-9 take place in a years time.
@@shotnuke What? Yeah, there are tons of contradictions between the OT and PT. How did Leia remember Padme when she died at childbirth? Why did so much of events of Clone Wars not mentioned in OT? And that is just the top of my head.
As for the actors, all they said was that there wasn't a plan. But so what? As I said the OT didn't have plan either.
@@thehacker4012 no she didn’t she talked about her adopted mother and yes they did mention the clone wars. Wrong on both counts
Good point. The Jedi didn’t have to ignite their sabers when they saw Qimir. They could’ve just reasoned with him first.
All this shows why Obi embodied a true Jedi.
Are you serious? They just found Kelnacca dead from a lightsaber and there’s someone running around killing Jedi. Why would you not ready your weapon?
@@doubledawg2006 the Jedi didn’t know Kelnacca was dead yet. Bazil was there first and called them over. That’s when Qimir walked up. Ignited his saber and Sol told Osha to run. After Sol says show yourself. Obi would’ve stood there like “Hello”
@@DaNewWaveLee yes, let’s neuter the Jedi more than they already have been. Can they feel nothing through the force? Stop trying to justify a homicidal maniac murdering a bunch of innocent Jedi because they *checks notes* ignited their lightsabers because of a perceived threat when they are racing to find another Jedi they know for a fact is being hunted by someone who has already killed two Jedi, including a highly regarded master. This is so unbelievably stupid.
