  • Following up on my unboxing, I swapped out four keycaps and switches on the Voyager.

Curious about the bottom of these keycaps-- is that a rubber padding to make bottoming out softer? Sorry if you mentioned it already.

do u like the moonlander better? i have a mechanical keyboard and love the build and switches, going to a clicky sound is so difficult but ive been considering it

I wouldn’t say I like the Moonlander better, but at this point I’m still more familiar with it and it is still my primary keyboard. If you don’t need the extra portability of the Voyager and you know and like regular mechanical key switches, then the Moonlander is probably a good choice. It is very capable and comfortable, at least in my experience.

What made you go Norman over e.g. Dvorak. I looked at the programmer version of it, but.. It seems I need more buttons than I have on my lily

Dvorak, while being somewhat popular as an alternative layout, sacrifices common keyboard shortcut muscle memory and doesn’t provide that much benefit for it. Colemak is another common alternative, but didn’t feel as comfortable for me as Norman did. Basically I found something I liked that was comfortable and I stuck with it. Could there be better options out there for me? Likely, but the returns probably wouldn’t be so high as they were from dumping QWERTY.
