    Well well well....and here I am at 57 years old, got my first computer in 1980, feeling like I want to try this, especially because my wrists have been hurting me and low profile split would feel so much better.

    I was wondering how the ergonomics will be when eliminating the number row, and moving the home row one row up... thank you for showing that! :)
    Tell us more how this works for you and how it affects the reachability of the thumb clusters..

      Will do a review of the keyboard and how the thumb clusters work for me as soon as I know what I think about it.

      on the Moonlander, shifting everything up by one row works great.
      I think since the thumbcluster on the Voyager is much closer, it should also work

    ohh i like your idea of shifting the letter keys up a row- i use a layer on my ergodox for nums/chars too. But doesnt that make the thumb keys too far? Or does the smaller size of the kb make up for it?

    • @dasdom
      @dasdom  8 месяцев назад +1

      They are a bit far. But after using this for two weeks now, I think I'm getting used to it.
      The good thing about those layouts is, you can try it within a few minutes and switch back if it feels to strange. I will stick to it.

    As a programmer, I'm wondering if it would drive me nuts to have to switch layers to get access to keys like ( ) [ ] { } - _ (and numbers). Do you find that to be a problem at all?

    • @xabboy
      @xabboy 10 дней назад +2

      Like clicking the Shift or Cmd key do you say?

    • @dasdom
      @dasdom  8 дней назад +2

      Not at all. For me it’s total natural. It’s like using the shift key for capital letters.

    this keyboard is about ergonomics, but it seems you set the layout chang buttons far from each other, also for pinky - the most weak finger. find some information about home raw mode)) it might help a lot.

    How good is your trackpad? Is it very sensitive? You wouldn’t know of any smaller versions would you?

    So you have to use different layers to use this keyboard because it’s so small is that correct?

    • @dasdom
      @dasdom  Месяц назад

      Kind of. But it’s more like to reduce the travel distance of my fingers while typing.

    do you need to keep the button pressed to access the layer ?

    • @dasdom
      @dasdom  7 месяцев назад +1

      This is configuration. You can configure a key to switch to a layer and switch back when you press it again. Or you can configure it that it switches to the layer for one key press and then back again. Or you can configure it that is switches to that layer when you hold down the key.
