- John Lobb, the 'Daddy' of English shoemakers has a factory shop that sells shoes that have been rejected at final inspection - as do a number of the fine English shoemakers. Sometimes it's difficult to tell why they haven't passed inspection.
Great taste in shoes. I’ve just watched your Crockett & Jones video, also very fabulous shoes.
But the thing I find even better than your taste in shoes is your incredible voice. 😁
Thank you, Sir.
Pretty common with other brands. Spotted it in the first couple of seconds. The right shoe medallion isn't centered.
A very nice pair of shoes.
Elegant shoes
Your shoes are the limited edition "Saint Crepin" model. Each year, in the autumn, Lobb releases a special numbered edition. ON the sole you should see a number. Very nice shoes. I have 2005. I had the same pair as yours in green. Shoulda kept
Nice to have some info.
to my eye then etching on the left shoe is twisted compaired to the right one , the 4 punch holes to the outside look higher
I liked how you built up the story, the attention to detail. Those pauses followed by a few lines. And the footage - simple, yet supportive to the story line. Really enjoyed the video!
Much appreciated!
Nice shoes
They are.
A very lovely pair of shoes. I'd desire a John Lobb shoe. Perhaps I need to persuade my partner that we need to make a lover's trip to Northampton....;-) If yo hadn't mentions the punching to the toe cap not being lined with the apex, I'd not have noticed!
I do enjoy your videos on shoes :-)
Thanks
Tony
i was just about to buy an earthworks SR40V then i found out that earthworks makes SR20, a cardioid handheld vocal mic that has a much quieter self noise 16db weighted compaired to the sr40v's 20db self noise, humbly coming to you for your guidance master of the microphone 🙏
oh and i forgot about the EarthworksSR314!
Sould I get the SR314, SR20, or the SR40V?
Hi, it's difficult to say. I've never tried an SR20 but I doubt the difference in noise will be an issue, particularly live. I'm not so keen on the look of the SR20 but hey. The three earthworks mics I have, all look similar underneath, I don't know if they use the same capsule and tweak electronics - though the 33 and 314 are said to have larger diaphragms than Earthworks' standard. They all have a similar sound with the 33 being spacious, the 40, 'forceful' and the 314 more like a classy regular stage mic. Why not see if you can try them out, or chat to Earthworks? Good luck.
Thank you Anton. Superb video and narration as always. I couldn't be cheaky and ask what sort of price Lobbs are at the factory?
I can't remember what I paid, but seem to think it was around half price. So, still not cheap!
@@AntonBrowne Cheers, well, they do say Lobb's methods are superb. A chap re-soling a pair in the US was quite gushing at the standard of build of a pair as he took them Apart... might have to take a trip to Northampton one day.
Marcus Burtonshaw Their standard welted shoes with the single leather sole are just under £600 and the prestige shoes are £730 the boots come in a little more expensive than that about £800 and the sneakers are £215. Hi Anton,
I hope you remember me, Henriette Lewin, from cafe 10 in Bromley a long time ago. I hope you are keeping well. I am fine, living near Canterbury. I remember you coming to Ibiza and singing in a bar there. Paul lives in Sevenoaks and David in Glasgow. All the best,
Henriette
Hi Henriette, yes, they were great times! I hope you and the family are well and keeping out of harm's way... but still having some fun. xx
Is Anton based in Bromley?
