Great video on the Noveske gen 4. I just purchased the 17” version with cherry bomb comp new. I’m in Rhode Island with an 8 day waiting period. Can’t wait for pickup. New with the Magpul STR stock. I have a lot of the same preferences as you, changing out to the Miad grip for one. Funny, I have been trying to chase down the Knights SR-15 with no luck. Hope this is a good “second choice”! Thanks again!
Super stoked to get my N4 PDW 16" and 8" pistol. Take advantage of the 10% off for BlackFriday 16"=556, 8"= .300BO! Most of me wishes it could ship asap, but the other part of me is super stoked that they build each rifle to order. They don't preassemble a bunch of rifles for the shelf. Great Video
Hello. I had the same issue with my LWRC IC SPR. I have a few videos with my LWRC. One started tumbling around 2500 rounds. LWRC did swap barrel and send it back. I agree that it may have something to do with steel case ammo. I also shoot a lot and steel works for me. My BCM rifles have had the most steel through them and I never had a barrel issued. I had a PWS MOD 1 crack extractor and where the Piston rod meets the other part of it also cracked. I now stick with DI Guns only. LWRC definitely has a barrel quality issue.
Thanks for the comment. It's becoming more and more apparent that LWRC needs to go back to the drawing board with their barrels. Everything else is top notch but the fact we have bullets tumbling at very low round counts is ridiculous. I've also heard the new SMG .45's they came out with are having issues too so for now I'm done with LWRC.
Beautiful rifle. I literally was finishing a gen3 Afghan as the gen four came out n wish I had waited. Great rifle n nice review. Agree the std magpul/Noveske safeties are garbage& much prefer the radian 45def throw safeties as they have good tension but easily engage/disengage MUCH easier. Dont really Care for the weight of the afghan so want to go with a chf like your then swap to shorty rail n pin a different muzzle device to mount a sandman k. Of a gen 2 solgw 13.7” 5.56 M4-76 rifle.
If companies would stick with 1/8 twist barrels you wouldn't have to use high grain ammo just to get accuracy. Ammo is too dang expensive and then your having to pay even double, maybe tripple?? for 60 to 70 grain. Nope..
Cool video guy. Was shopping around for a lower, being new to the whole scene. Couldn't decide between all the companies out there making them. I liked how straight-forward you were though, saying hey. I'll show you the rifle if that's all you're here for; and then I'm going to ramble lol.
I also own a LWRC REPR Elite, and MK6 Tricon edition. Both phenomenal rifles. I am now concerned to see how they perform down the road. Do you think it is with the melanite lined barrel possibly needing to be broken in? The REPR has a Proof Research Carbon firmer wrapped SS barrel, so not an LWRCI barrel. The Tricon edition MK6 though has me worried. Good Looking Out!! Still Love LWRC but dang.
I heard you say it has the stainless barrel. I think they make it with cold hammer forged barrel too. is one polygonal or both and is one chrome lined or both? Why did you choose one over the other? Im thinking about buying and need clarification on which is more accurate..pros and cons..
What it's made of Id have to look but the stainless is marketed as more accurate than the hammer forged barrel. I can attest that the stainless on this makes this gun a tac driver.
In theory steel barrels last longer because of work hardening during the forging process. Chrome lining adds in corrosion protection and cleaning the barrel but hurts accuracy. Stainless Steel is softer so it wears faster but it's slick and not prone to corrosion so there's no chrome lining which makes it more accurate than 4150 steel lined barrels. If you shoot steel get a steel barrel. If you're shooting groups get a non-lines stainless steel barrel.
How do you like it so far? I have a 16 inch radian model 1. Looking for a 10.5/11.5 pistol and the gen 4 is a contender for me with the CHF barrel. Considering a SR15 pistol or a LMT MLC pistol as well since both can be or are fully ambi.
I'm currently considering this exact Noveske and would be curious to know how the rifle is holding up. Any regrets or further findings worth sharing? After owning it for a while now, would you still purchase one today? Finally, kinda curious to know how the Flaming Pig handles **flash** ... not so much concussion or blast (I'm sure, from all that I gather, that is directed forward very nicely) but does this thing produce a fireball at dusk or low light? Thanks for putting this review out there and any additional insight you may be willing to offer.
Damn.. everytime I see the Infidel, I drool lol.. I'll own a Noveske one of these days and it'll be between the Infidel and the Afghan. Gorgeous rifles.
They are great but quite overpriced imo. My FN ARs, a modded 16" M4/RECCE carbine and an 18" match grade sporter/DMR will run with or circles around any Noveske or anything else for that matter. I keep Tetra gun grease on my buffer tube and spring as well as my BCG along with some CLP to wet it down and my actions are absolutely silent and as if running on ball bearings. Thats how Noveske makes their rifles that smooth too. Grease any buffer and itll make it much smoother and quieter. My FNs are 100% reliable and both are honest to God 3/8 MOA accurate with their preferred loads when i do my part, although sub 3/4 MOA is all but guaranteed with most any good ammo. Also, after 9,000 rds on the M4/RECCE and 7,000 rds on my sporter/DMR, both rifles components still look brand new! Theres literally not a mark on either bolt or extractor at all and only light finish wear on the cam pin and carrier rail corners. It took 6,000 rds to break them in. The best part? I paid $1000 each for them, a little high for the $1,144 msrp M4 just before the election in 2016 but a steal for the $1,749 msrp match grade sporter/DMR . The Noveskes are excellent! Dont get me wrong. But there are other rifles out there that can equal or best them for much, much less. You could have 2 or 3 FNs for the cost of 1 Noveske. If your into having that really special somewhat rare firearms/equipment then it may be worth it but if your all about performance whatever the name on the rifle, you can get a lot more value elsewhere. Check out the FNs. They are pricey too especially for mil-spec rifles but theit quality is heads and shoulders above others imo and deals can be had. Also Barrett makes a hell of an AR in their REC-7 di as does LWRCI despite whats said in this video. Ive certainly never heard of one keyholeing! The LWRCI, LMT and Knights are some of the best enhanced ARs out there imo. And of course BCM is always a good choice.
@@Dexter-nw2fe - ABSOLUTELY! I'll pay 1/3 of what you will and my FNs will group 5 rounds into 5/8" at 100 yds every time. And a few 3/8" groups too. And they're as slick as owl shhhhh in operation. Noveske rifles are SUPERB....BUT....you won't out perform my FNs in ANY test be it accuracy, reliability, durability and of course, PRICE! All I'm saying is you're paying more than $2,000 more than I will and performance is the same. So.........
Nice. Lucky! Congrats! Since I like to run suppressed would you recommend their Gen4 10.5” or go for the big boy 12.5” 7.62x51 12.5” Switchblock? I also wish they would include a higher end trigger for the money and the Noveske marked BCG!
It is fortunate that you have not had to engage in any interactions with KAC's customer disservice department. Because if you did, you'd no doubt rank High Point as a superior outfit to Knight's.
How can LWRC not found out their issues yet? They charge high dollar for their rifles because they are considered higher end rifles yet a lot of their barrels are key holing??? Wtf man I have a LWRC but it’s in a six 8 this barrel better not start that BS with me!
Please people do NOT shoot 62 gr green tip penetrator rounds through a $520 stainless match barrel. Won't last very long. And the tips will eat up your extension feed ramps and your barrel's chamber. Steel CASE ammo is very hard on receiver parts and barrels. The steel case coatings and the cheap choice of powder used are very corrosive and dirty. If you insist on shooting steel case - only use a cold hammer forged barrel that is chrome lined.
