The Noveske N4 Recon (Gen 4) is pretty rad. Think about it like a tank... ...that shoots 5.56x45.
The Noveske N4 has to be one of the most solid and dependable guns I've ever shot. It is just a workhorse that keeps on going. It was shot all the way across the US in the 2020 Coast to Coast Tour, never missing a beat. A overall great shooting carbine.
While there are a lot of rifles out there that are made on production lines, Noveske has a few builders. They build guns from start to finish, often times hand fitting them due to the tight tolerances they keep. It is pretty impressive...

I can confirm that this gun flat out runs.
Bazooka green is my favorite Cerakote color ever.
Its the best color.
The other companies that try to pull it off don't do it as good either! It looks good, but nothing like noveske!
od green allday
Hell yeah 😎
I think above all else, Noveske is really good people and I cannot emphasize that enough. They take care of people and have excellent customer support. They have been hamstrung the last few years with supply chain issues which is really hurting their brand. Especially as PacNor burned down last year who supplies their barrel blanks.
But I will always be grateful for them showing up to Rally for 2A rights in Oregon with Radian. Sometimes you cannot put a price tag on the important intangibles.
If they took care of the people there prices wouldn’t be so high
I am a proud owner of a complete from Noveske Gen 1 N4 Light Recce with Switchblock and Noveske's double chrome lined barrel. Came with an awesome Vltor Upper and stock. AAC Blackout 51T flash hider, BCM Gunfighter charging handle, no ambi, SWS/Noveske quad rail, middie gas, Troy/Noveske flip up sights, and Tango Down grip (changed to BCM for the angle). An old-school Noveske and I LOVE it! On my "never sell" list.
But I agree it is not lightweight! And not inexpensive! But its my bottom bish!
I pick one up at a pawn shop pre covid for 600 dollars they absolutely did not know what they had
Noveske is arguably the best of the best. Rest in peace
Love this content, especially the appreciation for someone who loves the machines they build, great gun
Love my afghan 14.5 . Noveske ftw
This is the rifle I want.
Gotta love that Bazooka Green!
Hard to look at how dirty that rifle was. But badass to see hat it keeps on running without a hiccup!!! Awesome! Love the color too!!
I've got a 16' 1st gen Noveske Afghan w/ original Vltor collab. Replaced the pistol grip, everything else is bone stock. I didn't want to mess around too much with AR perfection !
Cheers to your 4th gen laserbeam
Great channel, great content, greatly appreciated; semper fi, brother
John started with barrels. I have a few. Very good quality.
Awesome honesty. Earned a sub!
Top notch review !
Noveske makes great firearms !
I have a Noveske Upper on a S&W lower
purchased a few years back... Love it !
My screen icon is literally a picture of a 0.4" five shot group i shot with my Noveske 18" SPR rifle . The bullets were 77 grain Razor Core OTM's, not hand loads. The trigger is a Hyperfire Eclipse single stage trigger and the grip is also Hyperfire. Scope is a Vortex Viper PST Gen 2, 5-25x50 with EBR 7C reticle. Gotta love that fine floating center dot. I routinely shoot under 3/4" MOA with all the above. When i get a chance i'll have to see how it does with some 55 and 62 grain stuff. I think i have some 69 grain and 75 grain stuff laying around as well. I've hit a milk jug at 1,000 yards with the above set up in about 3 shots as well and plan on going for a soda can at 1,000 yards in 10 shots when the weather clears up and the snow melts.I have a hard time believing these horrible groups are legit. Who knows. Maybe the quality control of the barrel making has gone down hill ? I simply can't believe that. Gotta be the shooter and or the ammo. I can't believe a SS barrel on a Noveske rifle would shoot that poorly.
I'm thinking of actually posting some videos... i finally got a good spotting scope and tripod and new Iphone 13MaxPro. Just need to find something i can mount the phone to the spotting scope with.
I was thinking the same thing, I have a gen I and gen III recon and both shoot sub moa with just about any ammo I put into it. Could be partly due to that barrel being really fouled up, that thing was dirrrttttttyyyy
@@wallerwhittemore6563 Yeah, who knows. What trigger was he using ? Trigger, ammo... wind.... not using a bubble level even.... could all have some kind of affect on accuracy during a 100 yard grouping. Scope too of course. I like scopes with floating center dots.
My first ar is a 2011 noveske 14.5” n4 skinny(lighter then the basic light). I haven’t shoot that much at just over 2k rounds on the books it has never had a failure. I recommend buying one if you can find it.
*Some E6 ready to inspect the star chamber intensifies*
I’ve watched this video a good 20x. Finally found this exact recon in stock!!! Can’t wait to get it. Thanks for this video!!
Just got mine as well. Been waiting forever for it to come back in stock as well. Shot it for the first time last friday😁
Throw up some videos of your builds.
Building out a Noveske 300blk 10.5 Med contour
youll love 300blk
Awesome video!
That is a nice rifle. I always wanted one of their 13.7s but never pulled the trigger so to speak
That’s awesome being able to see the bullet’s wake make it’s way out to 400
i like this mans reviews
Sade fmj outshooting the blackhills
Sad
I mean I’ve wanted a Noveske Infidel forever and can never find one but I’m glad because what I like in a rifle is not really what Noveske is selling there heavy gassy and the recoil is a little harsh for a 5.56 and I’m glad I broke down and bought a ADM it’s light it recoils better than my BCM and it comes fully loaded!🤯🔫🃏
Damn aren’t Noveske stainless steel barrels supposed to be incredibly accurate? Do you think you might of shot it out before you did the accuracy test? You did say it has been shot quite a bit...
Yeah noveske is like the Jesus Barrel company. Homie could either be a shit shot or shot the shit out of the barrel like you said.
I wasn't gonn say nuthin, but.......I just watched the critereon upper review and it shot like shit too. But he carried a Radian to a long range class and apparently made 900yd hits. Verdict....who knows.
@@IEatMexicanBabies finally zeroed my Noveske 10.5” 300 blk out & got > 1/3 MOA 5 shot groups at 50 meters. Definitely wouldn’t consider myself a proficient shooter either. My guess is he shot out his barrel or got a lemon because he’s shooting from a tripod. Shouldn’t be that hard to get a good grouping.
@@jacklewis3444 going thousands of rounds between cleaning causes carbon and copper to build up in the barrel. The build up doesn’t occur evenly so you can get some instability in the bullet.
Was the gun that dirty when you shot those groups?
Two different groups of the same ammo shouldn't have an almost 100% difference in MOA. Just sayin'.... If I shoot two five round groups of the same lot of m855 i expect them both to group exactly the same. I was a PI marine though and not a Hollywood one lol 🏴
Pretty much everything groups the same within the same grain weight projectile out of my 'ski.
I'm surprised at the accuracy. 1.5-2.5 MOA isn't acceptable with a price tag above 2K. Its also odd that its a 1/7 and grouped better with 55 grain.
Yeah I’m really questioning the shooters ability when looking at those groupings
I have the same rifle. 0.5moa three shot group and 1moa five shot group with nosler 77 grain all day at 100 yards.
Either this guy can’t shoot or it’s the gun. I’m thinking it’s the guy… I can’t imagine noveske making these rifles non sub moa.
@@Thomas-ox6xi when two different groups of the same ammo are ~100% different in size and shot by the same shooter it's not the rifle...
@@rorygallagher1026 Do you know how much it weighs from factory?
Love #Noveske but I think my next purchase and our build will be a V Seven Enlightened. Every Noveske is a laser beam. Especially their 6.5 Creedmoor AR10
Built a 13.7 URG with a VSeven enlightened. It’s such a beautiful piece of billet aluminum. Currently waiting for their lowers to come back in stock and make it a solid VSeven rifle.
@@cozycare1655 I was thinking of doing a 12.5”
@@cozycare1655 Have you had any experience with their gas port size? Is it perfectly gassed, over gassed, or should an adjustable gas block be used? I don’t think their titanium ones are adjustable...
@@thegolflife7565 I’m no career shooter or gunsmith. But I went with an adjustable gas block (Superlative Arms). Only reason is because I pinned and welded my muzzle, and also plan to go suppressed. So the gas adjustment will help fine tune my rifle. But I see no problem having a non-adjustable gas block at all. Hope this helps (:
Great video
seems like it likes the lower grain rounds.
Can I give this video multiple likes? Great job. I’m buying this gun tonight.
Finally got my NFA to go through. Noveske N4, 14.5" with the KX5 Pig.
All black though. Rather had green or FDE. Not complaining!
What makes noveske good? Compared to KAC or LMT, which are companies that actually push the platform forward?
Love mine, no need for for another
Who makes that magazine? Almost looks like the Canadian magazine they used in the C8
I feel my Noveske Rogue Hunter is my best built rifle. It's an 18" barrel and gets very good accuracy at 100yds. Generally 1moa. I swapped out the ALG trigger for a SSA-E, then a Larue
Just curious, why did you go from a SSA-E to a Larue trigger? How does the Larue compare to the SSA-E? I know cost wise its a huge difference.
@@SlickSlack4pac I put the SSA-E in a AR-10 6.5 build. The Larue is very good, but not SSA-E awesome.
Larue is a great budget option to the SSA-E! The geissele is slightly better but not by that much.
No, (1:04) lastly Gen 4 is the generation 4 not “the receiver set has some pretty cool stuff going on”.
But will it continue to run
A question for you Noveske guys, I just purchased a Noveske 16" CHF steel Recon/Recce barrel. What can I expect for accuracy and will steel cased Wolf be a problem with this barrel? I know Noveske doesn't recommend steel cased ammo but my Colt eats it like a pez dispenser.
I know it’s late but if you are still wandering I would expect sub Moa, and as for the steel ammo it should be fine only reason they don’t recommend it is for warranty reasons which is understandable
@@dawsoncota3845 I only have about 200 rounds through the new barrel and It performed very well. I wasn't testing for accuracy just zeroing my Aimpoint back to 36 yards and plinking some steel. Out of all the ammo I was using the Wolf 62g performed the best. Unfortunately I brought my AK, I have too much fun shooting the Bulgarian.
Unfortunately it’s pretty much impossible to find anything noveske right now. I would love an Afghan upper but can’t find one anywhere... maybe one day
That is a scary looking rifle
Noveske is an absolutely fabulous AR builder. I really want to add one to the collection. Unfortunately the gun market is insane (2021) so not sure if it will be anytime soon. Great review.
Rick
That has the same handguard as my bear creek arsenal.
I'm now worried that my Chrome-lined CHF barrel will be even worse in MOA.
for the $ those groups should be smaller
My M&P holds a smaller group, lol!
this gun was dirty as shit when those groups were shot
Shouldn't matter, ammunition and the quality of the barrel and the ability of the shooter effects accuracy,
Recon ?
How do you like the eotech g33 combo if compering it to a lpvo ?
From Oregon? Do us all a favor and practice in Portland,
Badass! 🤘
What do you think of the ALG ACT? I’ve got one sitting in my gun closet and not sure if I want to use it in a 300 BLk pistol or 6mm ARC rifle build or keep it as a spare and use a nice two-stage instead.
Not him but it’s a solid trigger. Not amazing though. And for a noveske that’s like ~2500 you should get a better trigger (still love noveske though) Check out the larue MBT, it’s priced specifically as a fuck you to Geissele. It’s trigger face is a little wider but no big deal.
If you don’t really care, I’d say throw it in the 300 and get a better trigger for the 6mm.
@@legbiter1462 Wow, that price is amazing for a quality two stage. ! I’ll definitely pick one up. Thanks!
They are *good*. Not Geiselle SSA-E good though.
That ALG ACT is a better combat trigger. Not a precision or match trigger. Perfect for a duty or an improvement over milspec junk.
Cool upload.
My Infidel is my go-to over my Larue, PWSs, Daniel Defense, etc...
what is the best all around optic for tactical applications, short to medium range.
Holosun all around for short to medium range. Or if you want a higher end optic it would be eotech, aimpoint or trijicon
Anyone know what mag he has in there?
Nice I’m looking for one right now haha
Question: Have you had any problem with your sling attached in the front by the M-Lock slot since it's so close to the barrel? Thanks
I haven’t had that issue .
@@motoriderguy3854 Thanks
Clean that thing Ivan!
imo Lucas Oil makes the best LCP and lube
noveske N4 or Radian Model 1??
both
Good video as usual. Good times.
A lil disappointed in the accuracy. I had the same barrel that was made before John died back in the day and it was sub moa with many different ammo types behind my rookie ass with a 3x9 hunting scope. I had heard the QC had fallen off some.
I own a 10.5 300 blackout and a 16in switch block n6 (both Noveske) and both shoot sub Moa groups with ease. I do almost exclusively shoot hand loads however, so I can’t say much for factory ammo but I believe the first time I had out my n6 I shot m80 at about a 1in group
Clean the barrel and let’s see if you can get any better groups because that sucked!
How was the recoil impulse and how smooth did the gun feel in strings of fire? Only thing I’ve ever heard negative about their rifles is they can be over gassed
You will get gassed in the face.....having said that my 16' N4 Afghan is bone, stock except for the pistol grip. Im not sure if an after-market charging handle would lessen the gasface effect.......
Beautiful rifle!
Info on mag?
Still waiting
Good morning heartache I mean Ivan nice shirt
They make a really nice ride
Premium pew pew
So is rancid recycling old Bones brigade art, or is it just the same artist?
it's like those people that buy a new car and go years without ever washing it. Also that accuracy is trash, you can get that reliability and much better accuracy for 1/5th the price.
Very Nice !🇺🇸🗽👍
So listen. Clean that barrel, your groups will tighten right up. You'd be amazed what a difference it makes
That’s 💰
I’m gunna buy one what can do you put on it? I have a Thunder Chicken I didn’t know what you used for 5.56 and what kind of Eotech did you use? Thanks Ivan
My bear creek arsenal shoots .75 moa. Are these rifles just as good?
If you’re looking for one.... good luck. Getting a Noveseke right now is harder than getting a Victoria secret model to slide into your dms.
not really they have black version on cheaper than dirt right now. also gb has a bunch on auction or buy it now
@@ninorcsinned3465 plenty of people still use ctd not sure why you think they don't most people will use any means regardless of gouging. its a capitalist market. he who has it sells it simple as that. people buying it have money to spend. some stuff they sell at retail other stuff they gouge.
And to that end/ and with respects to...most insufferable phrases uttered by man! Love your content.
Good luck trying to buy any Noveske?🤯🔫💣
Placed an order with my FFL in April of last year got it in June.
Its illegal in my state as with all so just wish listing it lol.
I hope they'll replace that barrel free of charge! That thing sprays bullets all over the place!
What he meant to say; “if you are not Familiar with Noveske I can’t help you”.
Great video - Dood.
Something is not right with the accuracy of that rifle. I don't think it was you, your setup looked good. I have had 4 different stainless Noveske barrels and every one of them would shoot 1/2 inch groups at 100. Especially with the 69s and 77s. It should be a laser beam.
Could be the bore of the rifle as it is dirty but I agree, I can easily get 1MOA groups with my Noveske barrelled guns. Could be barrel, could be shooter
Ruby Soho
Horrible accuracy due to how dirty it is no doubt. I have 4 Noveske rifles and they alll hold less than 1 MOA constantly. You probably have a buttload of copper built up in that barrel. Clean it Ivan!
why are you using short magazines?
Because they look better
Man I won’t a nice ski infidel so freakin bad
👍🏾🇺🇸
I'm confused: a 1/7 barrel? 1.5 to 2 moa? pretty disappointing. My friend owns this exact firearm...paid $3200....my home-built AR's shoot better, and they're all under $1000.
For the love of everything holy, clean your f-ing rifle... and you'd probably get 0.5 MOA.
I guess it is now cool not to clean a rifle. I think its plain lazy.
Not dxactly a tack driver for the price.
Everything IS better suppressed
👍👍👍🥰❤❤❤❤❤❤
@0:34
Let me muzzle sweep the camera real quick💀
Hope there isn't a person behind the camera.
Why does every noveske owner look like an urban outfitters model? I mean we get it. Pabst Blue Ribbon is the real drink of hipsters. Haha PBR fan boys still mad at the similar sounding acronym IPA's take over of everything hipster.
Wow that's gotta be the dirtiest functional AR I've ever seen.
