It's a solid concept and execution, and as someone who has built almost every PC I owned I get paying the off the shelf price. Sometimes the ease is what counts.
I would love the nuc part to be sold separately
it is sold separately, but might be hard to find depending on where you live. Look for Intel NUC Extreme Compute Element, for the 12th gen it's this ref: BNUC12EDBI90000
I think you can buy the nuc and mod you the way arround pretty easily 😊
You've been able to buy Intel's NUCs for years now.
@@UFDTech I was thinking with all the extras
I know you can buy them but what do i need to download lol
Hey, I really appreciate the in-depth review on something so niche.
I’ve been debating on something like this or just two separate PCs, so this helped so much
Happy New Year!!!!
This is the second time i clicked on a video that fast. Love your vids man.
The usability shortcomings that you detailed would be rectified if CLX had a custom case available for a dual system setup. If I were into streaming, I would build two separate systems, a mid/full tower for the main system and an SFF for the streaming system.
so why does it slot into the pcie slot? Just to keep it in place? if they would have put more engineering into the case they could have the IO from the compute unit in the front with it mounted there .
This design makes me think about using a budget laptop like the 2 you shown recently to do what the nuc is doing, still no capture card but might be cheap enough BUT no time and space saving as this one.
WOOOAH the GPU sag is insane
So with the 4080, they include a holder for the card that prevents sag. I had to remove it in order to fit my 4090.
@@UFDTech The sag on the additional GPU card, me thinks.
@@UFDTech why the 4080 instead of the 4090? Is it their choice or just a supply thing?
That's just what they sent me. I'm not privy to their reasoning.
This is really cool.
This is straight up a really cool setup, no hate, but I submit for your consideration for this particular context: what if you use just the non-nuc pc, pin OBS (and thus stream compositing) to the igpu on the intel machine (should be more than enough to accelerate compositing for up to 4k 60 streams), and then use intel's igpu encoder to do your stream encoding (which is a seperate piece of hardware instead of accelerating your compositing with the gpu and encoding with nvenc (which uses some of the gpu to encode). I *think* if you were to pin the encoding and compositing to the gaming system's igpu, you would be doing everything you'd be doing on the nuc on the gaming pc WITHOUT the gpu or cpu performance loss, no? (i'm not trying to argue, I'm trying to come up with a reasonable, inexpensive solution to accomplish similar performance.
Hi Brett, thank you for the video; I am wondering whether you can share your office chair information/detail?
It looks comfortable. How do you like it? Does it have good and solid (lower) back support?
That NUC is cool!
What a great video👍
Got to 1:53 wheres the PSU and how much power does this thing draw
Is this somehow better than a dual mobo system? Enthoo Pro 2 is a good case for that
This would be a crazy cool flex for a streamer.
This looks like a great service for non pc builders. I'm just starting to build and must do things myself.
This is some cool shit !!
U can use ur 13900k without losing performance, just using process lasso and change affinity CPU for OBS... DDR5 performing very very well with encoding
i've been thinking of doing a cheapo version of this; an H670 board with an a380 and an RX 6800 paired with a 12700 could provide a reasonable facsimile of this, but obviously at a lower cost. I'd love to see someone pull this off before I pull the trigger, lol
same. going to check reddit now to see lol
A clever solution.
How do you hide the psu
It's a dual chamber case.
I still have my Thermaltake Mozart TX, dual chassis full cube tower
So simple, yet effective. Why is this just now a thing!? With how established NUC pcs are in the market and all the popularity around giant dual PC's its surprising we are just now seeing this. This is a cool concept but i know its going to be too expensive for most. Although i would love too see this concept custom liquid cooled!!!
Gpu dangling on the bottom is not versatility, they should have chose a case with more PCIE slots to make full use of the extra PCIe slot on the NUC, or a case with vertical mount option for NUC pcie via riser cable.
Neat
I have a gaming pc and docker machine set up like this
That's not an EVO that's just the O11 Dynamic
You're right it's not the EVO, I misspoke. It's actually the ROG. The LIAN LI badge is at the middle on the regular O11 and this one is at the bottom.
@UFD Tech long time watcher and like the comments here, but can nothing be done with the bots on "text this number for prize"?
I nucced so hard.
NUCaholic
Hopefully I'll win the lottery one day. Lol
It would be cool if Intel worked with Corsair to create a nuc with a built-in capture card.
The price is INSANE, bottom line it's not difficult at all to build a PC. On the other hand I definitely understand the intimidation factor of spending a sh!t ton of money and having to do it yourself. You're not exactly building a lego set here. Also some people just don't have the time and just might not be interested in building a PC. On the other hand there are places that will build it for you for a lot cheaper. I also don't like the fact that the parts only come with a 1 year warranty
imagine paying $500-600 for a 4060...
s tesla p4 would be PERFECT for that nuc GPU
If you do end up throwing in a GPU for the NUC you better put in an Arc GPU to keep it in it's family and ha e the AV1 encode. Your already flexing ridiculous hardware most noone would. Take the cooler off the ARC even get it in there make it fit. xP
AV1 encoding is not supported by any streaming site and you lose Nvidia Broadcast features.
I would just not use a stupid 'F' SKU and encode the stream on the IGP to avoid the performance issues without needing a second PC.
If the 12th gen Intel NUC wasn't cutting it and an additional GPU had to be dropped in anyways couldn't the second GPU just be used for the nvenc encoding to negate the nuc all together? Beefy GPU for gaming, second GPU for streaming
Or if the 12th gen NUC needed a second GPU anyways couldn't you just use an older/cheaper 9th gen NUC and save a ton of money?
This was copied from Der8auer's RUclips vid and idea. At least they used the O11 with his badge.
I actually built a true dual PC myself. Using Corsair's massive 1000D.
link?
As a rule I am an AMD man, but this setup looks fantastic. Way to go Intel.
Just us an AMD MATX or ITX board for the main pc. Problem solved
Basura AMD sin competencia es que garantizar más peor
MetallicGear NEO Qube better, intel nuc kind expensive and thermal is hard to handle by nuc
WTF. PCIE powered nuc >?
This case is not the EVO
Correct. I misspoke. It's the ROG.
@@UFDTech O11 Dynamic XL ROG Certified 🤓
I dont have this problem with my rx6900xt and 5950x like ive never seen my fps lower then when im not streaming its just a problem with intel and nvidia
Why not using vmware at this point??
5min too long
Isnt the point of having a big a** cpu to... not have to have a second pc? where is the bottleneck? Have you tested the el gato card in the main PC slot?
How would putting the Elgato card in the main PC help? The encoding still is done by the GPU.
ya but the avrage joe is not rich like you your only thinking off the rich folk bro . not all of us can aford even if we save up too that amount witch is why we rather go for the cheap route duel desk top pcs heck i went duel towers .
