Well you guys are all entitled to your opions and likes and dislikes. As for this old man I had the pleasure of spending time with these guys back in the 70s. I was traveling with a band and we played several venues with these guys and it was just unreal. Lowell is gone and no one can replace him, but I don't think he would want the music to die and I would like to think he is lookin down with a smile. We all die and life goes on, but the music never dies, it's forever!
As a feat fan since 1973, I only have one thing to say to anyone just getting into them. "If you like country with a boogie beat... they can't be beat... I say they can't be beat!" Their still always Willin'
I had the pleasure to hang out with Paul and smoke endless amounts of weed with him. He was my best friends dad! And honestly like a father figure to me. What a Legend! I miss you Mr. Barrere!
One of the best musician's bands ever! Never got to see 'em live, but I'm glad that I was the sound engineer for a band that had the talent (and balls) to do a live Little Feat medley that included this tune!
" feat " music is timeless. Recently introduced my techno listening son. He loves their faster stuff but he walks around the house listening to them. I love it .
I worked along side these guys for many years back in the 70's and 80's. Alley Studios, North Hollywood, Ca. A great band and exceptionally great musicians as well. Paul was fantastic on the guitar. Lowell, genius with song. I miss being with them. Lowell...rest in peace, my friend. May God continue to hold you in the hollow of His loving hands...
One of my absolute favourite bands, loved the early stuff with Lowell George, saw them play at an American air base in the UK for the release of Chinese Work Songs and was privileged to go back stage, had an interesting chat with Richie Hayward, a really nice guy, said a brief hello to Paul Barrere and the other guys, congratulated them on a great gig, and came away with a signed CD and a couple of inscribed guitar pics from Paul Berrere and Fred Tackett. Willin was one of the first Little Feat songs I learned to play and always gets into the mix when I’m jamin with my brother’s
I remember when feat came to our area , would have been around 75or 76 . As a 14 ish lad I didn’t know much of them. Man would it love to go back and make that concert.
Paul has done a great job of stepping in as front man since Lowell's been gone. The guys have stuck together to play THEIR music. Shawn was a nice addition and then she moved on. No matter what, they have created some of the most awesome music of the last 40 years and they still grind it out, day in and day out. Still a live show worth seeing and still creating music worth listening to. I've met countless fathers at shows, with their sons and daughters, just to show them what a real band can do
Don't pay any attention to the negative comments. I'm sure Lowell is watchin' and keepin' time with his "Little Feats." You guys and gal are great. Lowell is gone and surely missed, but he would want you to keep on keepin'on.
What Lowell and Richie and the boys created way back when was fantastic but it in no way takes away from the Feat of today. I have seen them in many incarnations and they are always great. Basically, they are one of the origional JAM bands and continue the tradition now. For those who are offended by the girl I have three names for you - Linda, Bonnie and (of course) Emmilou. All sang with Feat and only ADDED dot the music.
To young to catch original line up. Did catch them in Austin, TX about '98--they did Lowell justice...and the crowd knew the words. A timeless piece for sure.
Saw them in Oxford, UK, around this time. Went on my own. Small venue. I was a few feet from the stage. Got lost, completely, in the music. Probably my favourite band. In my dreams, Stephen Stills did a guest slot.
nothing beats the original band , sorry, they good thru 1990's, last time i saw them at Bummerfest. those DC days and southern venues, unforgettable as the great southern jazz/rock band , the 70's will never be replicated.
Thank you 9erfandex ... the original Little Feat had a unique sound, a chemistry that has never been reproduced since then. Thank God for RUclips for offering us that original sound.
Lowell George did a radio interview in 1979 that is here. He spoke of going on a "solo" tour, and as for whether the band was together or not, he had a laissez-faire attitude....Bill Payne was out playing on tour with Nicolette Larson. There was a lot of talent in LA at that time. To keep the band together, Lowell has signed a contract in 1975 to produce a solo album (I assume it was "Thanks, I'll eat it here." Little Feat was very eclectic, and fortunate that a major label took them. Lowell was playing the same small clubs that Little Feat started with. He seemed to accept it, some things work out, some don't, quoting Socrates. However, the "new" Little Feat just does not, in my opinion, have the same energy as the 1970s band. I recently bough a re-release of 5 albums on CD, and they didn't remaster it, so the vinyl albums sound better, with a few clicks and pops. I read an "authoritative" music commentator who said this was the best Rock and Roll band in America in the 1970s. I tend to agree, although the machinations of the Byrds was interesting and they made one of my favorite albums in 1968, "Sweetheart of the Rodeo". Lowell was a great songwriter, and in this radio interview with slide guitar he sings a solo song. He ad it all together, in my opinion. I would love to have talked with him, and tried to get him over the hump by which we lost him. But, he was 34, not one of those 27 year olds who OD'd in the 60s and 70s. Art Bell was born just 3 months after him, in 1945--just after the surrender of Germany. I recall testing speakers and amplifiers with Little Feat albums frequently in the 70s, and if they didn't sound good--well, the speakers didn't make it. I was in Germany in 1971 for 6 months. I really do understand why the Germans liked Little Feat--something very ephemeral....I saw a video where Lowell compared his style of slide guitar to Ry Cooder--he knew what he was doing and it was new and masterful. He was a great influence on my playing and performing.
bradspicks Did you find it important to make a similar comment to the many others that commented they miss Lowell too? Maybe you were just having a bad day and decided it was easy to pick on someone in cyberspace? There are many beautiful artists that have moved on and I miss many of them.
i tink dis is da best lineup since Lowell - just wait till you hear Shawnee with Romance without Finance..... maybe the longest running and most prolific Rock band ever and based on the essence of the melting pot... NAR'LENS.
Yes, his name was Lowell George. I'm dyslexic and prone to juxtapose. Too bad George's spirit of love and peace, politeness and the benefit of the doubt did not get through to some of his fans. I'm glad Little Feat remembered it, though, and carried that light on. Shame on you Heather. To everyone else, my apologies.
Hoy hoy...as the archivist for Little Feat, I'm interested to know any more info you have about the LF show you have mentioned. Do you recall the month and year of this show?? also, keep your eye open for a workshop/concert event that Paul Barrere and Fred Tackett will be sponsoring later on this year.
Lowell George - you have it backwards. No he was not the band, he was only the lead singer, songwriter, lead guitar player and front man. But the whole band was tight. Still, the halcyon days are always the best. Case in point; Monty Python. I still wish we could stretch those days out; they never last long enough, ever. I agree with you on Duane Allman. Another one is Chris Howe from Yes. But like Little Feat, Yes without the original singer is not quite right even though he sounds same
>Hoy hoy...as the archivist for Little Feat Glad to meet you. One of the best bands ever. Though this one is after Lowell passed. Is this not his daughter singing? I have an MP3 which includes her live, it took the sting out of missing Dad. I miss Lowell, and I know Bonnie Raitt does too.
I guess Im just old school. Have seen them a time or 2.. (with Lowell).., I am SO a Lowell George fan it just makes me feel bad to listen to them w/o him. Call me weird. ;-D.
One of a kind song writer one-of-a-kind musician too much talent for one person he heard things in a different way any play things in the same way and erupt things in the same way they'll never be another Lowell George

I had the pleasure to hang out with Paul and smoke endless amounts of weed with him. He was my best friends dad! And honestly like a father figure to me. What a Legend! I miss you Mr. Barrere!
R.I.P. Paul. If you and Lowell will look down on us, we will all be Willin'.
How could I possibly have forgotten Don’t Bogart that joint, lol. It was our anthem growing up 😎
One of the best musician's bands ever!
I love it .
Harmony, melody, playing their own instruments their own songs and no sampling other people's music no autotune.
Just talent.
I worked along side these guys for many years back in the 70's and 80's. Alley Studios, North Hollywood, Ca. A great band and exceptionally great musicians as well. Paul was fantastic on the guitar. It's Lowell George......and he was the heart and soul of the band.....they're still good.....just not the same......miss ya Lowell....
Their sound as matured through the years but like i always say one man don"t make a band, you can always listen to the old stuff with Lowell George.
One of those rare tunes that gets better every time you listen to it!
2 out of 4 original members and 5 that have been together since 1972 is that long enough for you
the two big ones are gone though RIP Bill and Lowell
Yes Pam Sheehan. These guys are the REAL THING. This is American music at its best.
Bill Payne is so great. It's always awesome hearing him play.
Bill Payne will always be my favorite on keys.

Saw them in the Craig Fuller days in mid to late 80s at Carowinds in NC LOVED IT
nothing beats the original band , sorry, they good thru 1990's, last time i saw them at Bummerfest. those DC days and southern venues, unforgettable as the great southern jazz/rock band , the 70's will never be replicated.
Saw Little Feat at the Illinois Sangamon County Fair when I was 8 mos pregnant with my soon to be 25 yr old son. Awesome!
Thank you 9erfandex ... the original Little Feat had a unique sound, a chemistry that has never been reproduced since then. Thank God for RUclips for offering us that original sound.
