    I just bought the same printer last month. I'm really glad you are doing this series, I'm a big fan. I would love to see some videos comparing the different "papers" for dark fabrics. (I say papers in quotes because they are more like films.) So for example, I believe Forever Dark has a regular version, and new Pro version of the B paper which is supposed to be brighter, and iColor has I think three different types of paper for dark fabrics, one of which is Ultra Bright. Some of them are supposed to be brighter but more difficult to work with I think. It would be great to see a video comparing them all. Thanks!

      So. Many. Options. I feel like a discussion is needed just on allll the options and what they mean!

    A video on getting the colors right on dark fabrics would also be great, in particular it seems reds are really hard to get right. The best I've been able to do is to print a color chart onto a black shirt with a lot of different shades of red and then choose which one looks best. If there was a way to create a color profile like there is for other printers that would be wonderful. Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how to get the best colors out of WTP. It seems temperature, pressure, finish are all things that can change the colors. Thanks!

      I actually messaged the company about tests I can do just for this reason! I need to experiment and maybe do a video on settings!

      @@AngieHolden Thanks for the reply. It's very tricky to get colors right. I have a graphic that has two shades of red and at first my colors were very dull. I realized that I needed to lower the pressure on my heat press and lower the temperature some (from 320 to 310F for 120 seconds) and then my reds started to look better. But also since I rasterize to get a better feel at the end that also changes the colors. I'm looking forward to hear what you find out. Thanks!

    Great info. Great channel. Question is... I have been a Mac user all my life. The Crio and iColor only work with PC's. Have no clue which pc computer to get. So many pc companies to choose from. I am into quality, warranty and service. PC company recommendations, makes and model #'s would be helpful and greatly appreciated from subscribers of this awesome channel.

    • @AngieHolden

      That is hard to do given that computers change so often. I would see if crio has any minimum requirements.

    I did dtf printing and hated it for the maintenance, very interested in this. But the printer you mentioned for me in camada is $6000. Do you have other options. Also film and ink

      I am working on some other options for this that will be less expensive! Stay tuned!

    Can you use a white toner printer to print (sublimate) the transfer paper that will be pressed on skinny tumblers or coffee mugs?

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  5 месяцев назад

      White toner prints can go on hard surfaces. I don't have a video for that - yet!

    I feel like the White Toner feels like paper compared to DTF. And I definitely don’t think it holds up as well in wash/dry cycles. I’m also surprised that the prices on Crio machines hasn’t dropped now that DTF is more prevalent everywhere.

    So, what about the black ink? If it doesn't have it, is it then a mix of colors to get the black?

      Correct that is how this particular printer works.

    Do we need a special heat press? I have the Cricut heat press.

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  3 месяца назад

      I do think you need a traditional heat press for best results as you will need heavy pressure.

    I love my iColor but I refuse to use it on fabric. IMO, they shouldn't be allowed to sell them for apparel. 😇

    That's pretty cool, but the cost of that printer is insane! Definitely not for the hobbyist.

      Fair enough! If there is enough interest I may review one in a lower price range as well! They are all expensive however.

      @@AngieHolden I think it is more for the person who is a seller than someone who just does something like that every now and then. A seller would most likely be able to afford it more.
