I think some of the good savings for Sams and Costco is in the otc area, spices, the big salmon or trout fillets. The big pineapples, dawn platinum dish soap, gift cards, rotisserie chickens, 200 trash bags, 40 bottled water. The big canisters of nuts. 36 pack of nature valley granola protein bars. Lightweight cat litter, chicken jerky for dogs, the precut sheets of aluminum foil. And both usually have gasoline at 30 cents lower than everyone else
Keep in mind with a Walmart CC you get a 5% rebate on total spent, plus free delivery, and as a disabled vet that is worth it all. I can’t drive or carry items from Costco. Like all prepping, everyone has to take their individual needs and abilities into account. There is no one size fits all when it comes to prepping. I know I’m speaking to the choir for most here, but for some, maybe not. Thx as always for your videos.
Thanks for all your videos, Eric. They are appreciated. One thing you failed to mention about the Costco membership is the cash back rewards program. Every year you get a rewards check based on the annual purchases. For me, it pays the membership fees and then some.
I pay bills etc on the Costco Citi Visa card and gas rebates, on top of the membership reward so I get even more rewards. Also we usually wait until items are on coupon or marked down! Then stock up! Buy the Kirtland batteries when they are on sale, they're even cheaper and the same brand.
Thanks for your videos, Doc. I also noticed that you did your comparisons between Costco & Walmart. I live in Sam Walton's home town (three Walmart stores) and have memberships at Sam's and Costco. For prepper shopping in bulk quantities Sam's wins mostly. However, Costco has similar bulk deals (like #10 cans of Delmonte Green Beans
I can see it's worth American families getting a Cosco membership, and buying in bulk, especially if you have a large family. But for me in the UK, on a low income, I'd still buy regular sized packs and end up paying little more. Not everyone has the space to store such large boxes and multipacks.
We don't have a Costco membership, but do have a Sam's membership. Love their canned chicken and items like the paper towels, toilet paper and other bulk items. I do wish you would do a Sam's Club comparison to Walmart. Thank you for all you do to help us.
I buy my butane and 6 hour fuel canisters for alternative cooking methods at Costco. Also of course, toilet paper and paper towels. I did get a really good buy on 25# of tomatoes at harvest time. I find the bulk prices on produce to be very good if you pay attention to seasonal harvest schedules....for those of us that don't have a garden.
Costco and Aldi is over 100 miles away and being blind. I don’t go to the city too often but I like Sams which is in the same town because they do ship to my door.
Groupon has a Cosco membership right now. You pay the $60 membership fee, and then you get a $40 digital gift card to use. So, membership is only $20. Great deal until 12/24.
Thanks for doing the math for us. The few things that are more expensive from Costco is more than made up for with the other items. We are 2 hours from our Costco so when we go we usually have a big list. One thing we find much cheaper is candy. Tho we don't eat much at Christmas we stock up. Also, many of our vitamins are cheaper. Butter and eggs are much cheaper.
We save so much money at Costco in just gas. We bought our electronics for Christmas and saved money there. We have the syrup, olive oil, rice, canned chicken breast from Costco for our prepping as well. You do save money there.
Start a food journal. Keep track of the food you buy. Wright down the prices each week. If you write down the price from each store you will be able to compare prices and will start to notice when each store puts stuff on sale.
I think the thing that turns me off to Costco is.. the large can/sizes of like green beans or a huge peanut butter. Most would go bad at that size. Most everything i buy is on sale and try to stock up on them, whatever store it is. Winco has great prices too.
Great video! I will say that the Costco paper towels are very good quality and those Walmart ones, although cheaper, are much thinner and you'd probably use twice as many to get the job done.
I tried Sams club and wasn't expressed. Some of the items you could find less expensive at Walmart. Without a membership. I do plan on getting a Costco membership one of these days.
No more Sam's Club in Washington State. I got the membership for free for being a Walmart employee. So I gave up the membership. However, I never once shopped there at all.
Thanks Eric, good comparison video. I shop both Costco and Sam's I do find that Sam's does beat Costco on alot of bulk items not by a lot but enough. For me it just depends on what side of town I'm on.
If you have a Kroger, buy gift cards and save on gas. You can use $1.00 for a fill-up. As long as you have the points. My wife buys a lot of cards, and we save a lot on gas every month.
I'm saying if you buy gife cards, you get points that discount your gas. If you have enough points, you can save up to one dollar at a time. You can get up to 35 gallons of gas at a time. That saves you $35 with a fill-up. That's a great deal. You need to have a Kroger card to get the points!
Did youtube erase all your Geopolitics channel's videos except your first one? I have been watching every day. Yet nothing there tonight! FOR VIEWERS NEAR MUSKEGON, DAILY DEALS GROCERY STORE IN PLAZA BETWEEN SAM'S AND WALMART , COSTCO AND WALMART ARE BEAT! Thank you for your insights and "heads-ups." 💙💞💙
@@GoshenPrepping Ah. I can see some now. However, when going to your home for it, and clicking videos to see in order, only intro comes up. Otherwise, I can find them separately. Bought some N95's you suggested. My daughter with cancer and MS literally hugged them.💙
Good video but. Walmart don't need a membership vs Costco you do. So also that should be considered in price. And another thing is if you need 4 packages to equivalent to coscos 1 package you have to remember tax per item as well.
🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠 Walmart roast beef has a lot of broth in the can. The best by dates are important to me also. Sometimes for me it's not the cheeper can that wins but the taste, meat fullness of the can, and best by date, for these reasons I prefer the keystone ground beef and don't mind paying a little more per ounce. I also would buy the gv corned beef over the gv roast beef for these reasons. The less liquid in the can the better I think. In my opinion, When it comes to beef in a can there is not a lot of good choices out there. I like the taste of the Hereford roast beef with grave, the price is a little high for me but the reason I don't buy it Is it has about 10 gr carbs per can. It is hard for me to compare different caned beefs, I guess it all depends on what your looking for. Like the video thank you 😊👍

You're right! I love the rewards.
Same here. And I have the executive membership!

One year we gave away 15-20 turkeys and got a nice refund

WOW i didn't think there would be such a big difference , Thank you Eric
I don't have a Costco near me. I do have a Sam's membership. But I always look on the app flip and see what is on sale and stock up.
That is about all we ever do. Most other stuff is more expensive.
I used to pay £2 for 30 AA or AAA batteries last year. Now youd be lucky to find 8 or 10 for £2.
We don't have a Costco membership, but do have a Sam's membership. Love their canned chicken and items like the paper towels, toilet paper and other bulk items. I do wish you would do a Sam's Club comparison to Walmart. Thank you for all you do to help us.
Appliances are also mostly cheaper at Costco.
If you need freezer or in my case new washer and dryer. Saved 400$ on those

The quality of the Kirkland paper towels is much better than the Wal-Mart generic 2 ply.

Many of these items can be purchased super cheap on Amazon with a subscription up to 40 percent!

Loved this video! More of them please! Tyvm!
That's one month run. Times 12, huge Costco dollar savings.

Costco can also be a savings for those with dietary restrictions, i.e. gluten free. The savings over a year of grocery shopping add up.
Thank you Eric for sharing this information and comparison between the stores. Blessings to you all ❤
Great video! I will say that the Costco paper towels are very good quality and those Walmart ones, although cheaper, are much thinner and you'd probably use twice as many to get the job done.
I wish Costco and Sams had a senior discount. Love shopping there but can't really justify the cost for just one person.
Thank you!! So much , I have a membership.
Since I am so well stocked up because of prepping. It usually allows me to bye only sale items.
You really have to shop around. Most items can be found cheaper at one store or another and can save a ton of money over the course of a year.
I tried Sams club and wasn't expressed. Some of the items you could find less expensive at Walmart. Without a membership. I do plan on getting a Costco membership one of these days.

I gotta go with Costco. But we do get some Walmart items. Overall, 2 great places to stock up

We don't have a Costco where i live
I converted to rechargeable AA AND AAA batteries. I still have D cell batteries that are NOT rechargeable, yet.
No Costco here. Nor Sam's, nor BJs.
Same here
We don’t have a Costco, or Sams. We drive an hour to go to Sams which is in another state.
Just getting the Costco or Sam’s Club membership alone pays for it in itself if you purchase gasoline from their pumps. 👍🏾🇺🇸

@@mister-action1 we have Smith’s, which is Kroger. Gas is cheapest here in Las Vegas at Sam’s Club or Costco.

I'm in Indiana. It may be different in vagus?
Yeessssss!!!
WOW THANKS FOR THE INFO
Although you mentioned Sam's Club (where the comparison out to be) you seemed to compare it to Walmart stores only.
Sam’s is in our city, no Costco. Thanks. ❤❤❤

We don't shop at Costco or Sam's because it's a little over 200 miles round trip.
Dames membership is cheaper and owned by Walmart this comparison would be interesting between Sam’s and Walmart.
Great wòrk! Thank you!
It really helped me.
We have both a Sam's club and BJ's membership, but we have found Sam's club is cheaper on majority of the items that we buy.

Walmart: "How dare you price compare! Aren't our commercials enough to convince you to shop at Walmart?😉

Costco member and I go in for one thing and come out with a full cart load 😂😂
Looks like I need to go to midland and get a Costco membership instead of my sams membership
Now can you compare
Sam's vs Costco?
I don't like shopping at Walmart I will drive an hour and 1/2 just to go to Costco
Problem I don't have no Cosco near me😢😢
I love your show but this is NOT a fair comparison. Sam's club is cheaper than Walmart on a LOT of items, significantly.
Honesty, I find the quality at Costco is MUCH better than Walmart. The problem is, I buy too MUCH at Costco!
I’m sorry the paper products that you highlighted from Walmart are so cheap and thin that it’s sad.
I don't think it's a even comparison Walmart is retail non bulk
Costco = Sam's
The prices are nearly identical for Sam's club
Sorry my dude, this is useless to me as we don’t have either here😢😭😭😭
You can buy online also
