As fans of such diverse artists, it is easy for others to pass judgement and stereotype harshly based on genre. And because of that, army, usually expect some type of criticism and backlash but shockingly most of the hip hop heads are open minded, so thank you. I really like how you do most of your videos and rap dissections. (Also an avid fan of j.cole) but I think there's as much misconceptions about kpop (especially bts) as there is about hip hop. What you were referring to is what the media often points out "the dark side of kpop" and how all companies have it's training/conditioning be "strict & toxic" or competitive but that concept is somewhat outdated and it also found in other industries globally like sports, entertainment, education, medicine, and fashion. When you break it down, it all the same, globally. Look at football players, models, medical school students, our artists here in the west are dropping tours because of the demanding work. It's not as uncommon. Another, is how bts accumulated all this popularity & became a global "phenomenon" because of their "good looks, catchy songs and great dance moves" but actually it's of "their messaging and how they connect with their fans as artists" I'd wish the media would stop likening them to superficial aspects and comparing them to others. BTS have been honing their craft and changing the world. They have been known to support & pay homage to the great artists that have come before them by studying the game and having appreciation towards hip hop culture. So thank you.
...also I feel like because the label of BTS which was very small and not mainstream at all in the beginning when BTS debuted did things very differently to the industry so the group could grow and develop to the artists we know and love today! Of course they had rules to follow like in every other label and had to work and train incredibly hard - but they always had a choice and were driven by their own passion and not by a slave contract, no forced plastic surgeries (I think he referred to that in the video...), they have complete autonomy about the stories they tell with their music and the messages they put out, they write and produce themselves, communicate freely and naturally with us without being dictated their behavior in any way, etc etc.... In my opinion they are as successful as they are because they never belonged to that side of the kpop industry and are just allowed to be their talented, passionate and most importantly genuine selves💜 And I think you are very right about how the kpop industry already changed a lot and we shouldn´t assume and have prejudices...I even think BTS and the way they are doing things (proving it works by being this tremendously successful) was a big part of that change ... and just looking at the business moves Hybe makes right now I think there´s definitely a kind of revolution coming ...I can hardly imagine how immensely bright the future of kpop is the moment all artists are allowed to just thrive freely because the sheer talent and the amount of work everyone puts in is overwhelming🥰
bts are on hiatus until 2025 due to the mandatory requirements in south korea for each able body men to serve in the military for a minimum of 2 years. since this is out of their control the boys have decided to use this opportunity to showcase their music as solo artists , serve their 2 years in the military and comeback AS A GROUP. the label has announced the boys have no plans to disband and WILL come back in 2025 as this is when it will be expected all 7 members to have completed their 2 years in military. so far one member jin released a single in october last year and has entered the military, j hope released his album in july last year but has also gifted us this song with j cole as a goodbye song for army until he comes back from military. BTS' leader RM has also released his album in december last year and the remaining 4 members are planning to release their albums this year and will then serve their country in the military until 2025. all i am saying is when the boys come back in 2025 be prepared THE MUSIC INDUSTRY WILL BE LEFT SHOOK.
All BTS member's have Solo work of some kind some more than others and while they are all going off to do their military service before each one enters they are doing getting their new solo work out. Each member of BTS is a solo artist in their own right so when then come together they form a unstoppable power house. So far, the members that have released their music are Jin, RM, and J-Hope but Jimin is also dropping his album this month and Suga is going on a world tour this year so the only members left are V and Jungkook. BTS has already released solo projects before so this isn’t really anything new. We are all looking forward to see them again in 2025 😁

Can you check out TINNITUS by Tomorrow x Together? They’re BTS’s juniors and they’re also talented! But Tinnitus is Afro beat bc one of the members, Taehyun, really loves Afro beat. All the BTS members are releasing solo projects before they enlist in the military because it helps for them to grow as individual artists. So far, the members that have released their music are Jin, RM, and J-Hope but Jimin is also dropping his album this month and Suga is going on a world tour this year so the only members left are V and Jungkook. BTS has already released solo projects before so this isn’t really anything new. We are all looking forward to see them again in 2025 😁

I love the reaction! But you don’t need to generalize BTS with kpop. Tbh not too many of them go hard. BTS started out with underground rappers/dancers (the first 3 members who do the majority of the writing as well as some composing and producing). Most of K-pop is more manufactured, but it’s getting better
