    J Hope met J Cole, his idol, for the 1st time at Lollapalooza. He was about to melt-down with excitement! He did a classic JHope squeal as he walked away from meeting him. So glad they connected again for this song. The Greats, like Coldplay, fall in love with our boys when they meet them. It makes my heart swell that they are making these connections and collabs!!

    JHope is cool just “walking” through the city! As someone who was trained in various dance forms for 10 years, I noticed: his moves are incredibly fluid, he can dance with his entire body even his hands, his arms, his movements are as graceful as a ballet dancer but with the swag of a hip hop or street dancer. Some may think this was all freestyle and maybe somewhat but I feel like Jhope is too much a perfectionist for that. He made a concerted effort to fit his dance style with the music. And the result was perfection!

    Thank you, John-such a great song, and I know it was J-Hope's dream collab, for he has loved J Cole for so many years-dancing to his music long ago, plus J Cole brought about BTS's "Born Singer" and all. I am so sad to see Hobi go-the harsh military for our ray of sunshine...just pray he gets through it alright and that it won't diminish his internal glow. They will all be different when they return to us, but I so hope they will come back to us as BTS in some manner. This was a melancholy goodbye, but such a gift to us all from J-Hope. 💜💔💜

    You’re welcome. Love spending time with you. What an powerful song and performance. More and more recently, especially in watching some of BTS’s work such as a reaction I recently saw of three vocal line songs and a lot of the power came from them singing the songs as if they were living the lyrics right then and there. I think J Cole did that here as well. The emotions they were able to convey in how they sang each line couldn’t help but touch the viewer. I cried a couple of times. They did House of Cards, Zero O’Clock and ugh.. what was the third one? Anyway, the reactor’s channel is Gabbsi reactions. I think you would enjoy watching the performances in her reactions here. I haven’t watched the rap line one yet, but I understand it’s equally as powerful. I feel like J.Cole did the same thing here.

    the collaboration is meaningful on many levels, and not only for the two j's. perhaps the best is seeing that these two immensely talented artists, with different skin colors, from different different backgrounds and different cultures, can come together and create beautiful music. if anything, this collaboration is also a profound statement against racism: on the street, every one is the same -- for as individuals, we all "run, move, look, love, and hope" towards our dreams for our selves, our families, our friends, for all of us.

    I was kinda disappointed that more people didn't watch it. He did a live and had 3.4 mil that should have jumped into the video. Also on a side note, my opinion, while the bars were not equally distributed btw Hobi and jcole, it went back to hobi's dancing roots.

    • @sujiv2671
      @sujiv2671 Год назад +16

      You're right, it's disappointing that all the people in the live didn't immediately jump into the video. However, I actually think this is a song that will continue to resonate with people, will be listened to over and over, and will also reach a greater audience. People worry too much about the initial numbers -- I think this song will have longevity, which is more impactful as a piece of music.

I love this song, J-Hope always has that sweet and sunshiny vibe and J. Cole is quite impressive. Hobi hasn't gone off to the military yet but I miss him already; I kinda hope that he will end up in the same base as Jin, or if not, at least to a base that will give him a good experience. Did you see Jin's Insta update when Hobi and Jimin visited him? I am heartened that their military service may not mean that they disappear from our sight altogether.

  • @onyabeia832
    @onyabeia832 Год назад +4

    There is so much correlation betwwen the 2 of them first Hobi said J (both J) in the air (Cole already on top in the rooftop (Hobi's childhood Idol) when Hobi iis moving during the whole MV from the little kid he was to reach the top like his idol. And at the end he's right there full circle. Hope talk about faith (and his name is also Hope) and Cole talk about faith (that guy smart as F... But stupid as hell who doesn't believe "doesn't have faith" because he can't see. Cole say he doesn't know anything else doesn't have a different hobby , Hobi had said he doesn't know anything else (would he had been a different Hobi?)The sign "it's my call" (calling) wordplay with Cole but also it was Hobi's'calling (his Mama sacrifice everything for his calling) . Of course Cole rap about the tribulation he went through (so do J-Hope) just to survive and both came up on top. Jack in the box wants more is not done yet and in this song he said he is still ( still there but still cause for a moment he will be still for the military wordplay) Cole said the more he eat the more he get stronger so he's not done yet. Cole talk about the child you help grow and you have to let him go. We see Hobi letting go of his past self (putting to rest " the memorial site" in the street MV) for this new chapter. And finally they were both looking in the teaser at their "Future". I'm sure there is more like Hobi going the opposite sign of the exit , the stop sign etc....

I forget sometimes as a black American that not everyone is familiar with hip hop music, only the ones that make radio and make the news for negative reasons….

    I love %95 of this song and MV and the other %5 disappointed me. It surprised me that J Cole would take a portion of his time on this song to dismiss? insult? be insensitive to? some of J Hope's fans and friends maybe even family. I was loving the whole thing until, as an atheist, I was being called stupid as hell. I told myself it's not about me, it's for J Hope but really this song IS for me as ARMY. It's a farewell to me from J Hope. There is no way Hobi would ever say that to us or anybody so it hurt my feelings. For me listening to and watching this wonderful piece of work is like drinking a perfect cup of coffee then getting grounds in my mouth. I look forward to the other version he will be putting out so I can comfortably enjoy his farewell.
