I think it's safe to say that The Great Hall Peaked in 2018. The inside had 4 tables with at least 1 bench each and a table with chairs for the professors.
Nah it's whopping. Almost too big. Almost. You've still got the relative comfiness, similar to the 2008 (9?) version. I think it's fine that there's only technically two tables.
Already excited to see what comes next in this wave. They'll obviously have to have a tower build attached to the Great Hall so here's what I think could be on it: Second floor: Dumbledore's Office, or Gryffindor Boy's Dormitory. First floor: Gryffindor Common Room or just the entrance way to it with the Fat Lady (maybe it's double sided with Sir Cadogan on the other) Ground Floor: The main staircase (rotating feature, & paintings) or maybe the bathroom entrance to the chamber of secrets (I say since that area is a very round set piece, unlike the boxy set we had before) Underground: Chamber of secrets, or just maybe a part of the Hogwarts kitchens with a few elves. If they can do the Hufflepuff common room that isn't even shown in the books, they can do the kitchens which are. And since we got a potions classroom build, it would be great to get a Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom. Prisoner of Azkaban would be my pick for inspiration, I mean look at the dvd interactive tour: ruclips.net/video/jLQu1mQ7gZg/видео.htmlfeature=shared There's so much to draw from: boggart builds, wardrobe, dragon skeleton, skulls of dark creatures.
My thoughts are that they’ll do a 2nd half of the great hall, but have the tower with it and below will be similar to this where it will have the extra space for the dark arts classroom so you don’t have to pick and choose.
7:37 really missing some nice Harry Potter details, like specific HP food, statue, fireplace, teachers chairs, house point hourglasses etc. Its feels a bit too generic and less dept, (side walls should be 2 stuts deeper). Think you could easily fix this though, nice moc project for people.
I'm definitely gonna switch the bathroom out with a MOC kitchen inspired by the kitchen in Legacy. I love that they actually put Hufflepuff common room in the right place.
I’m going off of the BTS stuff for that game, the developers talked about how the Wizarding World people let them come up with the first ever design 🤷♂️
I think this is a great set also for people who like to add their own additions. I know for me I want to add lanterns around the walkway of the Great Hall, and I can see people making their own Hogwarts Kitchens to slide under the Great Hall!

15:16 The paper says “asphodel + wormwood = ???,” which is a reference to one of the questions Professor Snape asks Harry in the first potions class. Fun fact about that quote, if you translate the asphodel and wormwood using the Victorian Flower Calendar (I think that’s what you use), it roughly means “I bitterly regret your mother’s death” (because asphodel is a lily).
With the Fat Friar minifigure, we now need the Bloody Baron one to complete the Hogwarts House ghosts. Some of the characters in this set are quite obscure, like Leanne (Katie Bell’s friend), Professor Vector, Daphne Greengrass, and Terry Boot. Daphne and Terry didn’t have casted actors in the movies.
This is great lego is doing this new line of hogwarts sets. But who else is tapped out after collecting the last 6 years worth of hogwarts castles if i get these now what do i do with the last two castle systems honeslty. I dont know i think lego should of put the theme up on the shelve for a few years before doing something like this but thats my opinon, great review ash.
Am I the only one who thinks the minifigure selection is a little bit random? Like we get Professor Vector (Arithmancy teacher and, to my knowledge, Harry never saw in person, only mentioned once by Ron), Leanne (friend of Katie Bell who was with her when she touched the cursed necklace and was never seen again. Didn't even know she was a Hufflepuff, always assumed she was a Gryffindor, too), Daphne Greengrass (mentioned exactly once, when Harry was taking O.W.Ls. For some reason her younger sister is Malfoy's deceased wife in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Terry Boot (member of Dumbledore's army, just a random background character who never does anything notable) and the Fat Friar (Hufflepuff ghost who, correct me if I'm wrong, had a short scene of dialogue in the first book and was never seen again). I guess they wanted all four houses to be represented and to have a different teacher and ghost than they would normally. But did they have to do that in the same set? Like, it would be cool if we got Professor Vector and the Fat Friar in this set, and then we got, say, Ernie MacMillan, Pansy Parkinson and Cho Chang - all much more notable characters whilst not being overused - and got Daphnee, Leanne and Terry in different sets.
The focus may be on introducing many new characters in the biggest new sets so that old fans feel tempted to buy it for the figures, despite owning a version of Hogwarts already
@@lordmawkish1286That explains why we have been getting obscure characters who only appear in the background like Professor Sinistra, the astronomy teacher, in the Hogwarts Chamber of Secrets set, and Madam Pince, the librarian, in the Hogwarts Dumbledore’s office set.
