OMG! "My Viejitos" (Parents) are in this video, sporting the Kentucky Shirt and Texas cap at the pulga! Awesome!
how cute...lol
Grew up in Edinburg class of 66. Miss going dove hunting every September.
And dont forget Stars drive inn and Stripes stores
what discrimination is the narrator talk about?
Discrimination.. bro people discriminate all the freaking time here in The Valley with your own community
I moved to Rio Grande City during my senior year in high school which does suck especially during the last year. I thought I wasn't going to have any friends but ended up with twice the friends than in my hometown. I still think about the RGV from time to time.
I lived in Harlingen for the fist 1/3 of my life. I spent most of my time up north. It is truly a unique part of American. A hidden gem of the south for sure. Food, fun and the culture keep me coming back
The RGV is not a hidden jem. It's all run by Communist Democrats. Its corrupt as fuck.
beautiful video. Keep doing this. Unfortunately, mass racist media most of the time portrays only the bad things about Mexican Americans or Mexicans, despite the fact that we commit fewer crimes than the average American, we tend to create businesses, we have the lowest mass shooting rate, we don't racially discriminate against people, we are hard-working, generous, and proud to be both Mexican and American.
You got it right... El Valle...where you don't go into a single home with getting asked would u like something 2 drink or eat? I love my ppl hospitality n great ppl like no other
YOU KNOW YOUR A TEJANO FROM THE VALLE, WHEN YOU COMPLAIN OF FAJITA PRICES.
I was so surprised when I went down there. I’m from west Texas and I assumed it was desert down there. It was tropical!
And to think that here in the valley we are only 3 hrs away from the desert! (In Coahuila, Mexico)
Try doing the valley "Ahhhh" with non-valley Hispanics and you will look like a goat.
aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....me gusta el .......aaahhhhhhhhh....que onda.....aahhhhhhjjaajajajajajjajaja
I did this and they looked at me fucking CRAZY
Lmaooo I'm Mexican born and raised in NYC and recognized it immediately, it's such a Mexican thing, I hear it every time I go to Mexico lol
Wtf? Not from RGV(Houston metro) and we do that shit too lmao
The valley is the only thing like it in Texas. Glad to be apart of this culture.

I really miss RGV. Great memories with family in the RGV. That is why RGV will be my second home.
Hate to say it.. but almost everything that was said in this video is not exclusive to the "The Valley"
Just naming off a lot of Latino tendencies. I lived in Dallas and you can find the same stuff there too.
Like... what's unique about the valley???
I live in Denver now, but I really do miss the Valley
Again thank you for these videos, I dearly miss the rgv, I have shown your rgv videos to my college professors and they become intrigued and surprised how we portray home vs the media and trump portray it. I'm grateful to see these videos once in a while to remember the roots that's still exist for me in the rgv. Thank u
Love You RGV!! I've been gone too long!
I left the valley 40yrs. Ago, my roots are elsewhere now, but my love for my valle will live until I die. Ariba El magic valley del Rio grande.
All my years growing up as a white guy in Austin, the white folks from the Rio Grande Valley were no different from most of the white folks from the rest of Texas. They didn’t speak Spanish, spoke in a Texas accent, and had same mindset as any other suburban white Texan, even though they only made up 10-15% of the population. Dallas Cowboys legend Tom Landry was from Mission, my elementary school principal was as well even though his roots were from San Saba Co., my mom’s SWT friend from Weslaco, and my native Austinite high school math teacher lived in Mercedes for years.
la cagaste when u brought politics into it.
You call it the valley .
I call it the ditch.
A very good ditch, I might add.
@@estellaruiz3125 you are right . i miss my good "ditch" a lot . i only get to go down every holiday when i get a break from my work
You know you’re from the Valley if you’re watching this
Very true.
Gene, thank you for this short clip. Miss the tasty Tex-Mex food. Left Raymondville in 1971 after high school to see the world's exotic places like Vietnam. Been enjoying San Diego ever since. I visit my family every other year. What I do not miss is the heat and humidity in summer.
You forgot the sugarbitis when asked about the medical condition y se me sube el colesterol rip Fito
Tejano Sayings
“Dale Gas”: hurry up
“SON O ANTONIO: instead of saying son of bitch
SI Wey: Go away
Mofle: a tall beer can, that resembles a exhaust of a car [muffler]
Puro Tejano: I am from Texas and not a Mexican.
Wow, bro. You have skills. How did you learn all these video editing techniques? They are currently hiring for the Joe Biden Presidential Campaign. They are looking for someone that can Video Edit and create media. You should look into it. They are paying approximately $4,000/month. I recommend you look into it.
EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD IS BEAUTIFUL TO BE EVEN THE VALLEY RGV SO ENYO PEOPLE DONT FIGHT LOL
I really enjoyed the years I spent living in the Valley, it was time to move on, though.

Born and raised in rgv still down here in Edinburg.
How is the job market? (I have a degree in finance) I flirt with the idea of moving there because I have my family over there but the uncertainty of job security scares me.

Awesome Gene! I met my beautiful Mexican wife in Brownsville, and I recognize everything you've just described.
You forgot that you know your from the valley when you just got out work on a hot day and go to the ice chest at stripes to buy a cheap beer and find some weed to have a relaxed afternoon
If there is one thing (or many, who knows) that prevents people from moving to the RGV, it is the language barrier. You simply cannot be a young American and move into this place like this without speaking Spanish. We are not talking about tourism or elderly homes. As I said earlier, there is simply no hope or future without knowing the language. No job prospects, the business meetings are done in Spanish, perhaps everything is done in Spanish with the exception of medical emergency services. RGV likes to brag about being bilingual, but that seems like an unachievable goal even with minimum standards are set. The only people for sure that are fully bilingual are police, fire, elected officials, and civil servants. The rest of the population ranges from nothing to something that resemblances conversational skills but still a poor relation to their native language. Perhaps it is a no surprise to anybody that every Hispanic person in the Valley is a native Spanish speaker, without exception. By the way, don't get confused with bilinguals signs or audio messages in English. Clearly these people are obeying the law; that's all. So there you have it. Please respond if anyone has any.
Correction-all medical services are bilingual, predominantly Spanish.
