    Love the x-e2 just for it´s simplicity, the jpgs and the mechanical shutter-sound. It reminds me so much of the minolta SLR I started photography with.
    I just got myself a beautiful black x-e2, because I gave away the first one I owned to my father a few years ago. It´s kinda my third camera beside the x-pro 2 and the x-t3 and I wouldn´t consider it for paid jobs, but I guess I´m a collector now...

    Three years ago I bought beloved X-E2S for 150 eur, used of course, very satisfied. Paired with 18 f2 it is all the time in my car as lightweight combo to explore cities, nature, family events sometimes. I have also X-T10 that I use with vintage lens but somehow prefer E2S. This sensor, in both is the same, makes, for me, the most pleasing pictures. X-T2 as my performance camera, produces more accurate colors and can be cropped more, but X-E2S is my favorite.

    I have the X-E2s and agree with all of your points.
    The 16mp sensor is perfect for the original trio of Fujifilm XF lenses, the 18mm f/2, the 35mm f/1.4 and the 60mm f/2.4. I have newer lenses and more modern bodies, but that X-Trans 2 with these first generation lenses is as close to a film-like rendering as anything digital for me.
    my X-E2s get plenty of use even though I have several current models.

    As a purely stills shooter the X-E2 is a personal favourite of mine, it is just the right size for my hands with the added grip, it feels solid, it has the right balance between simplicity of operation and customisation and pairs well with the small f2/f2.8 primes. It also offers fantasic value in my market at only $160, so much so that I have bought several to ensure I will always have one throughout my photographic life should they eventually pack in and become scarcer in the future.

      @@parranoic Hi! I'd not be surprised to see that certain cameras start getting more expensive with time. This is not true of all cameras but some cameras develop kind of cult following. The X-E2 is one of them. Another such example is X10. It's not getting cheaper with time.

    Manufacturers are kept alive by consumers. Therefore, from time to time (and the window of opportunity is narrowing), it is necessary to convince consumers that new technology is indispensable and that the old technology is no longer fit for purpose. And because the majority of consumers really only want to consume and own, it works. In addition, a significant proportion of camera buyers believe that the photo is taken by the camera, ergo they will get better photos with the new camera. Anyway, the X-E2 is a miracle, it really is a cult machine, you might even like it more than the newer models!

    Another good video, I agree with almost everything you say, I love my XE2S and my XA2, I prefer both of them to the XT20 which I also have. I have the old 27mm pancake and it goes really well with any of my Fuji cameras. I also had the 15 to 45mm XC lens but it did not work well with my XA2 and XE2S, either the lens was faulty or else Fuji brought out some later firmware updates, but many of the features of the XC 15 to 45mm did not work, in particular I had trouble getting it to focus, so I sent it back, but you seem to be having no trouble with it.

      Hi Jan! Thank you. It's not easy to compare X-E2 and X-T30 becuse of the large pixel density difference. The feel is a bit different. The X-E2 seems to have more old-time style colors, which I like. I have to look a bit deeper but the Velvia film simulation may be more vivid on X-T30 than X-E2. I would agree with you when you say that the X-E2 favors more mid-tones. I have no experience with the X-H2s but it would be a fun test. Have a great day!

      Hi! Thank you very much for asking. First, you cannot go wrong with either camera because they are both wonderful. I really like the X-E2. I think it's a perfect camera for someone just starting their photography journey. The X-A5 will bring more functions but its image quality will not be higher and these additional functions are not too relevant. I personally like the X-E line of cameras a bit more than the X-A line. Additionally the X-E2 is a sweet spot among the X-E's. So, I recommend it with full confidence. What probably matters even more than the camera is the lens you are getting. Kind regards!

I like the viewfinder on the left side in the XE2S because I can look through the viewfinder with my right eye and see what is going on with my left eye. The colors are absolutely amazing. I'm these days using it with the XF 27mm lens. If you decide to get just one lens, it may be a good idea to get a zoom lens. The XC 15-45 mm is very small and capable. I just posted a sample gallery taken with the Fuji XC 15-4 mm lens: ruclips.net/video/KPLd-ixlFI0/видео.html . • @tom_photo
      @tom_photo  2 года назад +2

      Hi Chepss! Great, you've picked up a wonderful camera! Yes, I've used it with various older lenses as well. If your lens mount doesn't match the camera then you need a lens adapter. With vintage lenses and converters some of the functions won't work. Most notably you need to focus manually. Depending on the lens you may not be fully certain what the exact aperture is. Luckily focus peaking will still work! You need to do three things: a) switch the camera to manual focusing, b) enable "shooting without lens" from the menu, c) from them menu choose the focal length of the lens you are attaching. The latter will not matter too much because your camera is not going to know how to correct the aberrations of the lens if it's a vintage lens. And lastly, enable focus peaking. This way manual focusing is easy and fun. Best of luck to you with your photography!

      Hi! Thank you for asking. First of all both cameras are very good and feature the same size sensor. Overall the X70 is smaller and thus more portable. The main difference is that the X70 has a fixed prime lens while the X-E2 is an X-mount camera that can accept any X-mount lens. This fact makes the X-E2 more desirable for me. I like to experiment with different lenses and with the X70 that would not be possible. The X70 is a more specialized camera. If you need a more universal solution, I'd recommend the X-E2. Hi Alif! Thank you for asking. I'm a fan of the X-E2 so I'd like to say that this is always a good option. Between the two cameras that you are considering, most people would probably choose the X-A3 because it is newer technology, has a tilting touch screen, more focus points and offers more Mpix. But it does not have the microphone port like the X-E2 does and most importantly it is entirely missing the electronic view finder. This is a major difference and would make me to consider the X-E2 because it will give you a much more traditional photography experience. The viewfinder is not a big deal for people who are used to photographing with their phones and never had experience with viewfinders. I hope this helps you. Kind regards!
