This is reassuring. I’m a former Christian who is gradually floating toward Judaism. I love several Rabbis and now consider Jesus a Rabbi in his time who would be pretty mystified what Paul did with his message.

I came on here to comment that I can't believe Jewish believers can hear this idea of 2 Messiahs, and NOT put the pieces together. For centuries, Jewish Rabbi's have said that the Messiah will only come once, so Yeshua couldn't be him... yet out of their same mouth, they claim 2 Messiahs! Clearly, anyone with eyes can see that there is only 1 Messiah, and he comes twice. Why do you think Isaih and Zechariah both talk of Messiah coming (one on a donkey to die, one on a cloud from heaven). Clearly sister, it's plainly explained by Yeshua. He is the one true Messiah that the prophets talked about.

According to the Torah there was Information given we can not find in the written Torah. For example how does one perform kosher slaughter? What does this mean? I am interested in the events leading to the coming of Mashiach, so I listened to Rabbi Lauffer's talk about the Gog & Magog events.
He speaks of eschatological times and the rabbinical opinions, but sadly he doesn't mention any of the Biblical prophets who wrote about Mashiach's coming and the Gog/Magog events. So sad.
Ezekiel and Zechariah are so helpful in understanding the times of His Coming. And Tehillim 119 speaks so very clearly about the light that we receive through the Word of Hashem. Why isn't it being taught to use it?

The battle in Ezekiel 38 and 39 is clearly an ancient one or at least one fought with ancient weapons. All the soldiers are riding horses (38:4, 15; 39:20). These horse soldiers are “wielding swords” (38:4), carrying “bows and arrows, war clubs and spears” (39:3, 9). The weapons are made of wood (39:10), and it is these abandoned weapons that serve as fuel for “seven years” (39:9).
There is nothing in the context that would lead the reader to conclude that horses, war clubs, swords, bows and arrows, and spears mean anything other than horses, war clubs, swords, bows and arrows, and spears. And what is the Russian air force after? Gold, silver, cattle, and goods (38:12-13). In what modern war can anyone remember armies going after cattle? How much cattle does Israel have? Certainly not enough to feed the Russians.
To interpreted those verses of ancient warfare in Ezekiel symbolically requires us to believe that the meaning of the Bible has been inaccessible to the people of God for nearly 2500 years ?
Any commentator writing or preaching prior to the invention of modern weaponry would have interpreted the descriptive battle of Ezekiel 38 and 39 literally since wars were still fought with clubs, spears, and bows and arrows.
Ezekiel, inspired by the Holy Spirit, spoke in language that the people of that day could understand. If he had spoken of planes, missiles, tanks, and rifles, this text would have been nonsensical to everyone until the twentieth century.
What happened to the “golden rule of interpretation”? Why would the people in Ezekiel’s day need to understand a prophecy if it wasn’t meant for them? Why would the Holy Spirit confuse the people of Ezekiel’s day and beyond for 2500 years and then confuse the generation it was meant for by describing a modern-day battle fought with ancient weapons?
The weapons are ancient because the battle is ancient. Those who first read the prophecy understood it, and we who read it today should also understand it the way it was given to Ezekiel.
Allegorizing" prophecy one needs to do a complete rewrite of Ezekiel 38-39 to make it fit a contemporary setting.
There is nothing in these two chapters that should lead any interpreter to consider that the weapons are anything but literal old-world fighting implements.
The interpretive history of Ezekiel 38 and 39 is prime evidence that modern-day prophecy writers and preachers are not “profiling the future through the lens of Scripture” but through the ever-changing headlines of the evening news.
In Luke 21:22, Jesus spoke of the impending judgment of Jerusalem in AD 70.
He said “These be the days of vengeance in which all things written must be fulfilled.”
Did he really mean that in that judgment all prophecy would be fulfilled? If he did, (and he DID!) futurism is dead- because there is no additional eschatology beyond AD 70.

The only way to fool yourself so much, that you wipe away everything the prophets taught about the ONE Messiah (Yeshua), is to proclaim TWO Messiahs! Only the blind would read the prophets, and claim 2 Messiahs! How can you NOT see plainly, that there is ONE Messiah (Yeshua), and he will come twice! Otherwise, someone needs to explain Isaih and Zechariah BOTH proclaiming the ONE Messiah coming in two different ways... one on a Donkey to die for us, and one in the Clouds with great glory. It is always speaking about judgment. Not rapture.
There is one more thing I want you to see. Revelation 14 records the actual coming in the cloud mentioned by Jesus. Now pay attention to this. What would happen?

Now let me ask you this question. When was the earth harvested?

Notice the Thessalonians knew when exactly Jesus was coming?

It will only come like thief for those who were not believers at THEIR TIME.
It also means his final coming was found in Revelation 21. It was hence also about AD70.

and before its elders-with great glory.
This is Matthew 24.
Matthew 24:29
“Immediately after the distress of those days
“‘the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its light;
the stars will fall from the sky,
and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’
Jesus said it was in his generation.
Matthew 24:34
Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.
It’s not way in the future. Contrary to accusations made by Mathew Simon, full preterism is biblical and is of sound exegesis. We don’t extend the 1000 years to include Israel 1948 and say things like it’s way in the future.
