      I also start because of them. When I started to learn about BTS I was introduced to their regular content called Run BTS and I'm always having fun watching them play, the thing is when they start talking all together I'm always like 'what? who said that?' it also frustrates me when I have to constantly rewind the videos because I was reading and didn't catched what happened 😭 so from there I started... yet I'm still a beginner ㅠ.

    Thank you for another great video!
    In my case I had a friend who liked BTS through whom I ended up going to a Korean culture festival with. It really left me in awe, and I started slowly learning the Korean alphabet. Since then it's already been 4 years. Now I can't even imagine my life without Korean. It may sound a little strange, but I'm just truly grateful to both King Sejong the Great and BTS ㅎㅎ Thanks to them I ended up gaining so much. Of course I'm thankful to you, Billy, too :) I hope to become as good a teacher as you! I think a lot of the subscribers here will agree and have similar stories, let's hear them :D

    Thank you Billy for this! And thanks to everyone in your video, they did AMAZING!
    Was a lil intimidated by their progress (especially those who've been doing it in less time than me but their 24 hours & mine allocated differently so I'm good now).
    If anything it lit a fire under me to persevere. I've been learning Korean since April 2021, and wanted to learn so I can date a Korean and connect on their level.
    Also, I love Kdramas and Kpop so being able to having a deeper understanding of what I'm watching and listening to / singing will mean so much.
    Korean culture is beautiful and I want to show it the honour and respect it deserves. Speaking to a Korean in their native tongue and seeing the look on their face is like I'm really saying, "I see you and I hear you."

I also studied Portuguese and French each for 3 years and can hold a have a simple and slow conversation in each. I also want to know what the lyrics say exactly. They also do a lot of Vlives that aren't subtitled. I want to be able to watch these videos and understand them. Last but not least, the fact that they make such an effort to learn English so that they can communicate with their international fans inspires me to make the same effort. I started learning Korean in January of this year.

    1) I learned Japanese and Korean would be close language to follow. 2) I'm learning Korean because I'm marrying a Korean man soon. I came to Korea pre-pandemic with the idea to travel and experience the history/culture. While I love Japan, Korea is where we will settle for now. (My partner speaks many languages too)

      I've tried just saying "the U.S." but then people always ask "Which state?" Then I tell them and 61% of the time they're like "Oh, never heard of it."
      I feel like if you're from California or Texas, which are larger in area and population than most countries, and more well known, you could get away with just saying the state though.

    • @tteokkochi2084
      @tteokkochi2084 Год назад

      @@Spino162 There’s also the fact that the US, and some states like California, Texas, and New York are much more well known than even many countries. In fact, if California were it’s own country, it would be the fifth largest economy. If someone were from Canada, for instance, they most likely wouldn’t say which province they were from, unless they were from the more well known ones (Ontario, Québec, Alberta…). This is because more people know about the US and it’s states then Canada and it’s provinces.

    For me my for learning Korean is kind of 2 fold. First I have always had a love for languages since I was a little kid, and have been attempting to teach myself different languages for as long as I can remember, (because I have been studying almost entirely on my own though I am unfortunately only fluent in English, my native language, when it comes to speaking however I can read Spanish fairly well ad 8t is the language I have been dtudying the longest.) The second reason, however, the reason that Korean in particular got added to the list of languages I'm currently learning and has jump to top priority on that list is because of BTS. Music has always been the real language of my soul and their music in particular has helped me through some really hard times in my life, literally saving my life honestly, however I get frustrated at times having to read the lyrics in English the first few time I hear a new song by them so that I can understand what they are actually saying so I decided since I was already want to learn as many languages as I can I would just add Korean to the list so that I could hopefully get to a point that when they drop a new song I can just turn it on and close my eyes and listen they way I usually like to do with music and I won't have to worry about part of the message getting lost in translation either because there songs always have so many oayers of meaning but I feel like having to rely on English translations I kind of miss out on some of them. I have been studying for a little over a year now about as long as I have been an ARMY and I honestly wish I could find avKorean ARMY to do a language exchange with because then I could kill two birds with one stone, practice my Korean while finally having a friend I can gush about BTS with because I'm the only ARMY in my friend group.

    I had a few things... I wanted to learn a language that doesn't use a romanized alphabet. I'm an ASL interpreter, but there is no separate writing system for ASL at all. I was also excited to hear about the creation of the writing system, especially since the characters were created with pronunciation in mind. And then, of course, some increasing interest in Kdramas. And Stray Kids music snatching me right up. 😂
