Great real-life vid Paul thanks for sharing this. My drone is arriving in a few days from Amazon. Nice to see what it can handle in real life. It should work out ok on the beach here.
Cheers from 2 Canadians living in Mexico. ✌🏽✌🏽
Thanks for the comment. I’ve had a lot of fun with this little drone, would love to test it out on a beach sometime. Enjoy
You have a great channel btw, spent some time in Mexico in the early 90s. Wonderful country.
I have an Avata 2 and a Neo, love them both!
I recently had one for my birthday so have only flown a couple of times due to the awful weather here in France. The last time I didn't think it was that windy, then made the mistake of taking it up to 12 metres (using a contol box hooked up to my phone). It drifted about quite a lot up there, which was a bit scary, so I brought it back down to land PDQ.
Lesson learnt. Don't fly so high even if there is a little bit of wind down below.
The presets are really good though and your video illustrates that at head height it is still useable provided it isn't blowing a gale.
I’ve had similar experiences when flying higher.
@@Paulrunsdaily Last Saturday evening was very clear and sunny, so I took it up high for the first time. Managed 60 metres and even then I was bricking it a bit. Didn't have any problems and got some amazing views of our village. I'm impressed.
Great drone and video my man! I am getting one! Your review of it is awesome. 😎 great views too btw
Thanks, for the price it’s a superb bit of kit.
I just got myself a Neo to go with the Mini 4 pro and my Avata 2. I just love these DJI drones. They really are fun to fly around the house, inside and outside it's great stuff
Mini 4 pro will probably be my next drone but am also looking at the Air.
Thanks for the info .. considering buying one
Great little drone.
Yes, I think so too. But I'll wait until we get more information about the DJI Flip before I decide which one to buy.
@@killroyagain any idea when this will be released?
Looks great! Well Done!
Glad you like it! Thanks
It looks like it can handle that wind very well (as long as you don't need stable video footage of course). Thanks for the test!
Yeah, for the kind of content I produce it’s useable.
Love my Neo. I have not used it in high winds yet. But can’t wait to see how it does in the wind with my remote
Also great video
Thank you.
Nice piece of testing , I want one for spain.
Go for it!
Thanks Paul, was curious about its performance!
I’m not an expert by any means but I thought the drone did extremely well.
I have just bought a DJI Neo today, which will be delivered on Saturday. I've bought it principally for an upcoming Bikepacking trip, with four friends, to Italy where we will be cycling along the Amalfi Coast. I am really impressed with the preset programmes on the drone. I think the main one of interest will be "Follow Mode". I hear that the following speed has now been increased to around 20+kph?
Is the only other preset programme that allows you to move "Directional Tracking"? I'm thinking that the circling one can only circle you if you remain static?
I think the suggested top speed is a bit of a stretch although it does track well when going through woods etc. I’m waiting for better weather to do some testing on the bike.
Your bike packing trip sounds fantastic. Enjoy!
❤❤❤
Thanks
Very interesting. Dies the device gets occasional software updates?
I believe so. Had 2 updates since purchase a couple of weeks ago.
Got mine from Santa, and it needed an update before I could fly.
@ how long did the update take?
@ 5 minutes at the most, not long at all .
What do you use for your handheld cam?
Osmo action 4 or an insta360 x3
@@Paulrunsdaily I have an insta360 x2 love that camera
@@KillirBeard reframing the footage is a killer for me but I love the camera
If I would be the Neo, I would say: No, sorry, not today. :-p
It will flip over in wind gusts of around 28mph, no big deal as almost indestructible.
It is very robust. Have crashed mine numerous times and still going strong.
Can you release and land the drone with gloves on?
Haven’t tried it with gloves on. It has been a little hit and miss landing but I’m guessing that’s down to low light and wind.
I have done it before with black gloves and it works perfectly fine! Very impressed with this little thing!
@ great info, thanks!
That was pure cruelty the poor little thing hope you are ashamed of yourself.😂😂😂 I have the neo with the remote scares the hell out of me when its way up in the air and i get the strong wind warning.
Haha! Keep it close when windy.
