To be fair, the reverse visibility in the M140i is pretty good, and it has reverse sensors anyway, you don't need a camera. It's not a big car, and should be able to reverse it without sensors. Bit of a waste of money in my opinion, but hey it's your choice Reg. My OG M2 has a reverse camera, I never look at it !!
It was a waste of money in the end. I only did it, as I wanted to retro fit a rare option. I’ve been reversing fine in the 140i since I’ve had it. The camera is no longer there and I’m all good. I learnt a lot from the whole experience! That’s good to know. Much more satisfying when you don’t need to rely on a camera.
@@roadreg1820 Indeed. I drove a long wheelbase high roof sprinter for 10 years which didn't even have reverse sensors on, so I guess you learn to reverse by skill and judgement instead of relying on tech to do it for you matey 🙂
Great to see you’re still putting out content on the car Reg. And sorry to hear the hassle you went through with the reverse cam, hate situations like that.
good video reg. My m140i had quite a high spec, it did have the factory reverse camera. great option and yes like you said really helps with the rear visibility on these cars. Not something i would retrofit though, i think a lot needs to be disassembled to install it like factory (all seats and interior out to get the video cable into the body harness?? and fish it through to the back of the headunit?) shame that the place couldnt sort it even after 3 visits.
Sorry to hear about this Reg , but I think you should name the garage to prevent others going through the same hassle you had , cars sounding nice though 😊👍
Hello from Littlehampton, When you pay money and then have the stress of fighting the company to get them to put it right, although they seemed to comply. It’s not what you want to be doing after paying good money for a good job.
Was it a genuine camera Reg? The overlay you added on the video I’m fairly certain the company installed an aftermarket reverse camera? From what i recall, mine didn’t have them guidelines
You can get a lovely F40 M135i which in my opinion is better than my old M140i. Spec it with adaptive suspension, tinted windows, and you'll be under 40k! Best car I have owned to date. Yes its not a 6 pot engine, but the smile factor is even more than it was in the 140i to me.
@@marveysingh9592 it’s personal opinion. I’ve had both, yes it doesn’t sound anywhere near as good. But the upgrade in tech/comfort wins it over for me
@@marshmellow377 Not sure people buy M140i's because of the level of tech. They buy them because they are a RWD hot hatch with the magic B58 engine. If you want tech buy a Hyundai.
Recent subscriber and really enjoying your videos. I think you’re doing a great job and think you come across really well.
Thank you !
Glad to hear you're keeping the 140 will look forward to the updates 👍

Excellent idea with the PPf mate. I’ve done my full front end of my 140. It’s expensive but it’s amazing to not have to worry about stone chips now.

Sorry to hear you went through that, I would have been just as stressed. Glad you’re keeping the M140i, keep them videos coming Reg 👍

That’s sensible
Sorry... I know the feeling. It's really stressful.
