Get the oil change done cheaper, and with more certainty that it's done right by doing it this way! What do you think of the amount of money it costs to change your oil using this method? 🤔
100% agree, I prefer doing the oil changes on my SRT challenger and my C5 with race ramps. It really adds up over the course of a year and you know it was done right.
Nice post on doing your own maintenance! Saving money and peace of mind that you actually have synthetic oil. Too many reports of scams at oil change places.
cant beat race ramps. never forget doing an oil change on my sisters car using metal ramps...... fwd slipped on the ramps hit it a little to hard went over the ramps hahaha, didnt hurt the little car but was a bitch to get it off of there. dont have to worry about that with the race ramps, good traction.
Dude. I used to hate ramps until the RaceRamps came about. It took me years to get them because I never believed they'd stay put while driving a car up on them.
100% yes. There is no point in changing the oil and not changing that filter. It captures all of the dirt that the air filter doesn't get and possible fine engine particles.
If you go to start the truck and have the gas pedal pinned will the engine just turn over and not start? I’d imagine it’s a good way to prime the engine after an oil change if so
I would use tin foil and place under the filter area to use as a run way and remove the shield under the oil pan to prevent oil from getting in both places.
I mean, it's there to be a guide for when to change the oil. Technically you don't really have to until it hits 0% but I like to do it before that point just because oil is cheap, engines are expensive.
Just because they tell you that doesn’t mean that’s the way you should do it. Every new vehicle I’ve ever purchased has a breaking of 500 or 1000 miles.
Ehh, when you know the guys working there, it’s not an issue. And the same could be said for any unvetted mechanic. They also did a fantastic job on my muffler delete. That is the best single mod you can do for your TRX. Got the info on that one from Mike (SS717). Sorry that you’ve had bad experiences at Midas, Justin.

Exactly! I’ve had too many issues with the dealership mechanics to trust them with the 100k truck.
Hey thanks and can you advise what model (height and length) race ramps those are. I really need to get them.
Thanks for the video. Where did you get the American Flag decal for the rear window? Thanks
You're quite welcome. You can get the flag here: amzn.to/3YqSzmV
my ram brother were did u get that flag on your rear window beautiful.

Agreed. Between knowing it was done right and saving some money doing it, I'm down for doing my own maintenance.

Good video. I think Mobil 1, Valvoline, and Castol are the best oils but Pennzoil isn't bad.
Thanks! I go with whatever the manufacturer recommends.
I can’t wait to change the oil in mine!! Well, yeah I can.
🤣🤣🤣
Did you pre- fill your oil filter? I have heard it is recommended so the oil will circulate quicker and not have to wait for the filter to fill first.
It is always recommended to do so but in this case the filter is mounted sideways so it’s almost impossible to pre-fill it
is it neccessary to change filter every time you do an oil chamge?

Hi, what oil did you use to refil that oil cooler?
The same pennzoil
@HorsePowerObsessed where do we refil it, or does it just refil itself once we top the engine oil?

You not only know how to travel first class, but you also know how to do it at a discount! Well done Justin! 👍👍
P.S. A pre-congratulations on reaching the 70k subscriber mark. Another well done! 👍👍
Yes! Thank you!
Thanks, Peter! I'm pumped for that 100k!
How to know the lowest oil percentage that the car engine can handle before doing a oil change in any car ?
I mean, it's there to be a guide for when to change the oil. Technically you don't really have to until it hits 0% but I like to do it before that point just because oil is cheap, engines are expensive.
I always do my truck around 25-30%
I’m usually around that as well But the first oil change I always do a little earlier
@@HorsePowerObsessed makes sense
Performance cars almost always require an earlier than usual first oil change and this truck fits the requirement.
Why are you changing the oil at 1,000 miles? My dealer told me first oil change is at 5,000 miles. Or am I wrong?
Just because they tell you that doesn’t mean that’s the way you should do it. Every new vehicle I’ve ever purchased has a breaking of 500 or 1000 miles.
You should have gotten a WIX or Mopar SRT oil filter. Much better filter than standard Mopar
I like to use with the owners manual suggests while the car is in warranty.
Thank you very informative video!
You are welcome! I am glad it could help!
Do you have a link to buy the oil? And what filter does it take
Dodge Ram? 😂
I paid $55 out the door on mine, and yeah 7+ quarts! Your local Midas is typically negotiable for much of their services. Check ‘em out…
I’d be very very hesitant to use Midas, though…

What oil did they use, for the $55 oil change? Doubt it was Penzoil or Mobil 1 for that price.
My thoughts exactly.
Dumb question but I had an unexpected 1000 mile trip and my oil change will be less than 50 miles late. Will they void warranty over this?
Not likely. Their recommendations are just that. A few miles over is no big deal.
@@HorsePowerObsessed thanks
You’re very welcome
Onyx, how original.
It is pretty original actually lol 🤣
