I have had several instances where I had to pause the video because I couldn't get through the fake facade they are trying to put up and how desperate she was trying to get up the five stars. "Just be yourself, girl!" I kept screaming. It took me hours before I could finish the video due to pauses and hours of break I need to have to get through it.
The problem is people dont get to know each other. When humans lived in tribes you could see the happy and sad sides of others. When you only interract with someone for 5 seconds, you have to judge based on limited information.
It's an interesting perspective, as black mirror tends to be, I left social media behind when I realized how looking at the little snippets of how everyone's having such great lives just made me feel awful about my own life. Since dropping it I've felt a lot less pressured, and more secure in what I do. I'm not going to tell others to get off it, unless you feel like it could be causing you issues, anxiety for example.
Dan Druid I completely understand. I had to take a long break from social media (IG in particular) for that exact reasoning. I found myself comparing my life to others. I forgot that we as all people go thru things, however it can be hard to decipher when all you see is amazing and great things. Insecurities come to the surface and it can be difficult to face them, however we must to overcome them. Better to just live life like we once did w/o social media. But social media can also be used constructively in a positive light as well. It’s a catch 22 really, but I agree with everyone who has commented on this particular comment. Thanks all for sharing.
Same, but I do it whenever I start to feel bad for the way I feel, because it contradicts opinions of people in the internet, which iromically are people that I don't even know xd Sometimes I don't think like those persons and I even get to feel bad because of it... then I get away from social media. And suddenly I start to love and respect myself and my opinions again. It's really good for me, since the opinion I should care the most is mine 😊
This episode really nailed where we’re going with social media. I don’t do social media myself now, but my brother is a big user. I remember him asking me why everyone else’s life was so much better than his. I told him that people only post the best bits of their lives. I personally did social media for a couple of years, but got tired of all of the food photos and everyone posting how great things were. It’s not reality. Also, my ex-girlfriend was a big user, and used to complain how she didn’t get enough likes on specific posts, when other people got more likes. It’s absolute poison, it becomes an obsession, and I’m glad I’m no longer a part of it.
The black woman behind the airport counter stars in a British sitcom called "Chewing Gum"! She was once rumored to be the next Doctor Who and is HILARIOUS!! Look for her show on Netflix!!
I didn't want to watch Chewing Gum mainly because she was in it and I hated her guts in this episode lol. I had the same with Jessica Jones for being a bitch in Breaking Bad.
I feel like a lot of Instagram obsessed people were embarassed with this ep. Your reactions were hilarious esp when you cracked up when she bit into the cookie for the perfect pic kk
This is one of my favourite episodes, mainly because of the bittersweet and insightful ending. This series features the most fucked up episode for me, I'm still debating whether it's worth putting myself through it again to see your reaction it affected me that bad. Looking forward to the rest of the season!
Dylan C I think this episode is too drawn out and not really as impactful as the other episodes. The whole rating thing is quite a simple concept really it doesn't need a massive drawn out episode like this.
Nosedive is one of my favorite BM episodes. It's revealing about popularity. I am also intrigued by stories which involve the unraveling of a person's life, someone who starts out seeming to have it all together.
"This is too real" my exact reaction watching this episode haha! I feel like for millennials this episode was way less sci-fi than any of the other Black Mirror episodes haha
Black Mirror is great at making people rant about stuff afterwards, that's part of what makes it a great show! I enjoyed your rant and reaction. So happy you're doing Black Mirror again! I hope the next lil while will be better for you than the last year :)
Bryce Dallas Howard really gained some massive sympathy points for me by her performance here! You have to look up the interview with her, where she talks about her casting and how she got the role. She was so fucking nervous, you wouldn´t believe it, it´s actually kind of adorable!!...
Great to see you back on Black Mirror. I enjoyed your reaction and "rant," and I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the reactions to this season.
It might be a commentary on Social Media, but it is hard not to draw parallels with Credit Ratings. How many people struggle to keep their credit rating above a certain level to the point of absurdity in fear of losing out on the privileges offered by a high credit score.
"You get these pre-conceived notions of people based on what they want to put out there and I liked that this episode put a spotlight on living your life that way. How exhausting!" What a wonderful quote here. This sums up this incredible episode. It's true - people decide what they want to post online and how they want to be portrayed. Maybe it's time we share the good and the bad. That's what makes us human.
i feel sorry for everyone who lets social media dictate their life.. i feel sorry for everyone who thinks the stuff shown on social media is the real thing i feel sorry for everyone who can't enjoy a nice meal or a nice vacation without putting it on social media for everyone to see... i feel sorry for people who care so much about the approval of people they will never meet...i feel sorry for the people who do that to themselves... i live a perfectly fine live without FB, instagramm, twitter and all that bullshit and i am sure i will do so until the day i die
Ooooh make no mistake... this is for SURE the path we're on right now. WELL on our way there. I checked out years ago, before Instagram and all that blew up, because I saw the signs. I'm not totally free of all social media obviously, but other than RUclips, I barely ever use any of them. I check them maybe once every week or two to get rid of notifications and that's about it. This here is my absolute fucking nightmare.
This episode is really scary though and not just social media but actual celebrity culture and how you can't just walk up to Leonardo Dicaprio and say you like his shirt or something because he has a security guards etc. This other human being has security guards.
I loved the ending, they can insult each other without worrying about anything and not getting offended....In the prison there is even freedom of speech!!!
Throughout the episode she just cared about her social score and she faked smiled and was pleasant to people just to get high scores. Now she doesn’t care, doesn’t give a fuck and when she was in prison she made a real smile as she was now free, she now says what she thinks and doesn’t give a fuck about what people think about her.
I feel like a lot of people who say San Junipero is shit only do so because A) They wanna be edgy now that the episode has won an Emmy or B) Because they wanna get on the "SJWs ARE RUINING EVERYTHING" bandwagon because of the episode's content. Folks can dislike the episode yeah - but I do think a lot of the current hate on it came because people on tumblr started liking it.
The next 3 episodes are all very good in their own way. The last 2 episodes were a bit of a let down in comparison. Can't wait for your reaction to the surprise "guest" in episode 3.
I "like" videos that I like and I also "like" vids that are just "OK" so I know if I've seen them before. I do NOT "dislike" video's. (not ever, I ignore what I dislike) However, I "disliked" this video in particular because I love your reaction videos You rock. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu$& Yooooooooo@@@@@!!!! LOL
This episode is nightmare fuel for people with social anxiety disorder.
I had nightmares. NIGHTMARES!!
If they ever establish that in real life, I´m probably gonna be a 1 and done!
Liesmith this episode made me so anxious
I had to skip this episode and come back to it after I finished the season
"she's in the cell but she's free" .... *DEEP*
The problem is people dont get to know each other.
When humans lived in tribes you could see the happy and sad sides of others.
When you only interract with someone for 5 seconds, you have to judge based on limited information.
"Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose"
The thing I like about this episode is, all the politely said things were bad and the phrase ' fuck you' was the sweetest 😀

"She's in a cell but she finally feels free"
Who'd have thought two people screaming f you at each other would be so heartwarming?
This episode got Dallas Howard Golden Globe, Emmy, and Actor's Guild nominations!!
The black woman behind the airport counter stars in a British sitcom called "Chewing Gum"! She was once rumored to be the next Doctor Who and is HILARIOUS!! Look for her show on Netflix!!
Scott Boswell Chewing Gum is HILARIOUS. I love her!
I was trying to imagine what her Doctor would have been like, and it was IMPOSSIBLE, which is refreshing! - - - her sister was funny too!
I didn't want to watch Chewing Gum mainly because she was in it and I hated her guts in this episode lol.
I had the same with Jessica Jones for being a bitch in Breaking Bad.
She's also in the new Black Mirror episode "USS Callister"
Scott Boswell she’s also in USS Callister
I feel like a lot of Instagram obsessed people were embarassed with this ep. Your reactions were hilarious esp when you cracked up when she bit into the cookie for the perfect pic kk

Which episode?
Nosedive is one of my favorite BM episodes. It's revealing about popularity. I am also intrigued by stories which involve the unraveling of a person's life, someone who starts out seeming to have it all together.
I love the meaning of all this , and Bryce Howard’s acting makes it even better
Bryce Dallas Howard would've won an Oscar had this been a movie. I consider this to be one of the top 10 performances ever.
"This is too real" my exact reaction watching this episode haha! I feel like for millennials this episode was way less sci-fi than any of the other Black Mirror episodes haha
K. H. She is a millennial. A millennial is anyone born between 1980 and 2000
Black Mirror is great at making people rant about stuff afterwards, that's part of what makes it a great show! I enjoyed your rant and reaction. So happy you're doing Black Mirror again! I hope the next lil while will be better for you than the last year :)
This is the episode I recommend to start going down the rabbit hole that is black mirror :D
Alejandro Cortez hehehe i started with this and then with the 1st episode of season one xD
"smash her cake!" 😂 I love your reactions, especially this one.
Bryce Dallas Howard really gained some massive sympathy points for me by her performance here! You have to look up the interview with her, where she talks about her casting and how she got the role. She was so fucking nervous, you wouldn´t believe it, it´s actually kind of adorable!!...
Yes! Season 3, let's go! Looking forward to season 4. I like that she knew the character was making a food picture before it was revealed. haha
About a billion people. China's literally gonna enforce a system like this. It's scary to see the similarities.
i just wanted her to get that cake tho
This was a really good episode - glad to see your Black Mirror reactions back! :)
that last few frames have me so much joy for no reason, i just felt like it was such a positive ending.
20K! Congrats! Ironic celebrating this with THIS particular episode, but hey.
I love the self reflection the black mirror episodes initiate. The reaction videos document them so well.
I love this episode so much

1:45 that was so precious 😂😂😂
I already loved you before, but your reaction to this episode just confirmed that you are indeed the coolest.
Is there any way you could reupload your reactions to season 2? A lot of the episodes are blocked :(
This episode didn't leave me with the depressing feeling I normally get with a black mirror episode but I really enjoyed this episode.
What is left unsaid is this is our currently reality based on financial worth. Why people don't equate the two is beyond compression.
I like how you deducted this episode an how you are still connected to the real world. Good work.
Ooooh make no mistake... this is for SURE the path we're on right now. WELL on our way there. I checked out years ago, before Instagram and all that blew up, because I saw the signs. This here is my absolute fucking nightmare.
Awesome reaction. I loved what you said shout being in a cell but feeling free.
"Blue Fucking, Hello"
This is one of my favourite episodes of Black Mirror. I think it is somewhat relatable to our current world.
"somewhat" its 100% so lol
You're awesome. I can be having a bad day, watch one of your reactions, and leave with a smile. So thank you.
I really like this episode. I ❤️ that pretty much everyone in that future wears pastel colors
Enjoyed this a lot since I am a big fan of Black Mirror! Nice one :)
When you have nothing to lose, freedom is a truth away
This episode is really scary though and not just social media but actual celebrity culture and how you can't just walk up to Leonardo Dicaprio and say you like his shirt or something because he has a security guards etc. This other human being has security guards.
That social media eye roll tho :D
Thats their society which is slowly becoming OUR society
I loved the ending, they can insult each other without worrying about anything and not getting offended....In the prison there is even freedom of speech!!!

Finally you got back to Black Mirror. What a great show. What a great reactaviewer.
Enjoyed your "rant", that's one of the things I love about BM, it makes you think and want to talk about issues, etc.
Yay :D i was waiting for you to get back into black mirror
Hey, just wondering if you got things sorted out? Looks like all of season 2 except the first episode wasn't uploaded to your channel (again).
You are a couple of episodes away from one of the best/most impactful episodes of the entire show IMO. Get ready to be f*cked up
SayMyName note the use of 'IMO' 😂
you talking about episode 3 or 4?
What episode?
thegentleassassin Episode 3, I know she will love episode 4, but 3 is the most f*cked up one for me
I feel like a lot of people who say San Junipero is shit only do so because A) They wanna be edgy now that the episode has won an Emmy or B) Because they wanna get on the "SJWs ARE RUINING EVERYTHING" bandwagon because of the episode's content.
Folks can dislike the episode yeah - but I do think a lot of the current hate on it came because people on tumblr started liking it.
i hope yr life has got better. i love what yr doing here. yr amazing.
I love season 3
Season 3 is the best IMO I can't wait!!!
Scariest episode of anything ever, because it’s already happening.
New subscriber and I think this is my favorite reaction video thus far. Love the videos
Playtest is another excellent one. I look forward to your reaction.
I really didn’t like that episode, i think shut up and dance fully encompasses what black mirror is about out of that season
The next 3 episodes are all very good in their own way. The last 2 episodes were a bit of a let down in comparison. Can't wait for your reaction to the surprise "guest" in episode 3.
A world of pastel is a world that I do not want to live in😰
I wish you well with The Stuff, whatever it may be. Another good video.
Omg did you ever figure out what that was @ 12:29? that was scary!!!
San Junipero ^^ please!!

You disliked it because you loved it?
Yes. (in keeping with the theme of the episode) Sesskasays is cool like that.
...Right.
Nosedive is probably the weakest episode of the season
bamzooki For me, the weakest episode of the season is Men Against Fire.
bamzooki nosedive is definitely my favourite episode ever
Mate, it's just an opinion. Lol,
Muyanzi Reid Well that escalated quickly. Also, not funny. Suicide isn’t something you joke about with strangers.
Ikr
