"A matter of hours before the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest, the Dutch contestant, rapper Joost Klein, has been dramatically kicked out of the contest. This follows a statement from organizers saying that police in Sweden are investigating a complaint made against the performer by a member of the production crew."

"I've spoken to Eurovision experts and they say this is completely unprecedented. There has never been an expulsion at this late stage in the competition before. Countries have boycotted Eurovision before and countries have even been kicked out of Eurovision, as Russia was in 2022 after it invaded Ukraine. But for a competitor who had been performing in the semifinal earlier in the week to be kicked out on the day of the final competition is completely unheard of and has thrown Eurovision into a bit of chaos."

    STORYLINE:
Hours before the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, Dutch contestant Joost Klein was dramatically booted out by organizers over a backstage incident.
He had failed to perform at two dress rehearsals on Friday, and contest organizer the European Broadcasting Union said it was investigating an “incident.”
The EBU said Swedish police were investigating “a complaint made by a female member of the production crew” and it would not be appropriate for Klein to participate while the legal process was underway.
Though rumors had been flying the incident was connected to Israel's delegation, organizers said the incident “did not involve any other performer or delegation member.”
