Prostreet is class best NFS. You should get Ben to get all golds on the driving test missions on gran turismo 4 and each time he passes one he can earn money for upgrades.
i always felt that people hate Prostreet but for me it is neck and neck with U2. Third is between MW original and Shift to be honest and Porsche Unleashed is sth i love but will never play again.
Ben’s right, mw 2012 is the best nfs and you can’t make me change my mind. I spent hours getting 5 stars and running police off of jumps in the plane scrapyard in that game seeing if it was possible to eventually destroy one of the swat vans. That game, burnout paradise, minecraft, cod at friends houses and a flight sim you won’t have heard if were my childhood.
Need for Speed: World was a special game, especially for those of us who grew up with it. It was amazing to just roam the streets of Most Wanted and Carbon, race friends, or get into epic cop chases. But since it was online-only, it’s gone now, unless you use third-party servers. The game had its flaws-most of the best cars needed SpeedBoost, which cost real money, and early on you could only store a few cars unless you paid. They eventually switched from a Tier 1-3 system to classes E to S, but the coolest cars, like the Zonda Cinque, were still locked behind Boost. I spent hours every day on it, even kept up a streak of doing the daily gem hunt for over three years.
I remember playing the game as a kid, I was really excited since I got one of those cards after a race and it gave me like 1mil $, ended up spending it all on a Gallardo, drove it for a little bit then left. Came back to log in just to find out after searching on the net that the servers shut down. I was really disappointed. The game wasn't perfect, there definitely was heavy on pushing micro transactions but I still loved it. You can still enjoy the game today on PC with SoapBox race world and it's kinda fun to play, there's various servers around from what I can recall.
the weird thing is, i am a year younger than Ben and yet i still have such vivid memories being excited about the Carrera GT, Enzo, SLR, Zonda etc. Also my favourite NFS is either ProStreet or Shift. I spent SO MANY hours on Shift, goated game
One reason it didn't get it in the first place was the name, which is not really right for what it is. I know when I got it as a kid I was confused at the lack of street racing, but it won me over pretty quickly.
I loved that game, I got the demo in a magazine and I played that a couple of times until I finally convinced my parents to get the full game for Christmas. I had to play it on Low, but man, amazing game.

I'm old enough to remember playing the original The Need for Speed game which kicked off the franchise back in 1994 on my Panasonic 3DO game console. Granted, it was a bit lackluster in terms of visuals, but it was rewarding to play which mattered the most at the time. For me, it was revolutionary as a driving game.
Edwin trying to talk about Ray Kreigers E92 M3 gave me flashbacks on how awful his ai was, I remember that he would always crash in a specific spot of willow springs and his car was so slow compared to other cars (even cars in his own racing team)

I'm in Ireland and I've sent quite a few interesting U.S. cars floating around that I've previously never seen in person before.
It's ruin for me. It turns out classic minis use a combination of imperial and metric brake fittings; 3/8 inch and 10 mm. If you keep tightening a metric fitting into an imperial brake cylinder it will crack the cylinder. It will do that every time you try until you realise the problem. In my case, three times. The bloody thing would be on the road by now if not for that.

I was in Georgia in 2017. Car situation is MAD. 50/50 mix of left and right hand drive imports. And the driving was scary. At the time people were talking about standardising on left hand drive, but don't know if they did. Anyway the people I spoke to were aware of and concerned about all the lack of regulation of imports, and felt it was an issue. I went on a trip in the mountains up north and the off-road taxis were those Mitsubishi school run MPVs, but with 4WD and MASSIVE lift kits, obviously JDM imports, flying up tracks with ruts several feet deep at terrifying speeds. Quite the experience.
great idea of leaving the 5th spot available, also this series of racing games ranking would be nice to hear/see more often as id love to see how juiced and juiced 2 would be ranked with like Blur, split-second ,l.a rush, motorstorm, midnight club[s], testdrive[s] so on so forth.

id like to see you lads do a top 25 list of all the car games you can get like forza, gran turismo, the crew, project cars, wrc and what ever else you can think of. i reckon that would be a good little rant/chat to do between yourselves!
Lads! Great pod. I watched hot fuzz recently and realised something. You need to know Martin Blower is David Threlfall AKA Frank Gallagher from Shameless. Classic series. But also, Simon Skinner another convertible driver (think it was a Jaguar XK very) is, drum roll please, Timothy Dalton aka James Bond. Licence to drive with his roof down but is an XK convertible okay? Keep the podcasts flowing as they keep me entertained at work.
Hands down it's Most Wanted (2005), it's the one that absolutely ignited my passion for cars and 19 years later I still sit down and have a play on every now and then. Vivid memories of setting myself the challenge of completing the entire game in a single day. Pro Street was always a extremely close second and would most likely top it if it weren't for my rose tinted glasses. Quick mention for NFS undercover being absolutely goated also
My god, the memories, I mainly played Underground 2 and a bit of Most Wanted when I was a kid, but mostly because my computer was not that great. I loved Porsche Unleashed, that idea of buying second hand, reparing upgrading, also advancing through age and french roads. Once I got my PS2, I got TDU, and man, the amount of hours playing it buying, upgrading and just driving. I am a bit sad now, as I would love similar games, but for me none worth the time. I played Horizon 4 just because I finally could afford an Xbox, it was fun just because i could buy and modify cars so easily, as I played it afterwork.
Question for next weeks Podcast: What is your take on "Project Binky"? I used to love seeing new episodes every 3~4months, but its been 11years and the last video took over 1year. They spent a year reinventing the wheel to 3D print circuit boards, when they aknowledge in the video itself that they had multiple offers of people helping them prototype a new board properly. AND even that is still not done...
Question that I feel stupid asking: My dad once told me that in the 70’s you could buy aftermarket sunroofs in some service stations that you would fit at home to your Mk III Cortina during an evening of hacksaws and spot welding. Is this something you can still do today? BMW 330e // Audi A4 B5 (sans sunroof)
Thank you so much! After watching last weeks episode with Need for Speed on the screen I got an urge to fire up Gran Turismo 4. Rather than dig out my PS2 I though I would run the emulator (my GT4 disc is sitting on my shelf, for Sony's lawyers). And this week you have GT4 running and drop the Spec II bombshell that I knew nothing about! I am still doing the license tests but can already tell the work they have done on it is amazing. Thanks to the whole GT4 Spec II team for all their work and Edwin for the recommendation.
Question for the forum.... If I have a base spec car - mini cooper for example bog standard 1.6 petrol... If I want more power do I: A - buy a cooper s B - buy a cooper s engine and engine swap C - buy a supercharge kit and for to the stock engine This question can go for any car, fiesta/focus/Clio/BMW ect..
High Stakes for the ps1 will always be my favorite. It was my introduction in most Sportscar and super car brands. Also the corvette cop car was badass
I REALLY wish they had talked more about carbon like he announced it when he realized Ben doesn’t even know that game. One of my all time favorite games, loved it.
About the A110, if the production number is low enough, they could import it immediately into the US under "show and display". There are many rich people in the US that would love to get a car that never made it there under regular conditions
The original NFS underground will always be my no1 because I must’ve played a million hours on it and completed it each time in almost every car you could use on the game. The soundtrack is iconic as well!
Red LORRY, Yellow LORRY, your not supposed to say ''LOLLY'' 😅 Its an old tongue twister, and yes I could easily see Wall's using it for a Twister ad. Quick tangent with old adds... Can anyone else remember when ''The Red Car & The Blue Car Had A Race''? 😂😂
Rule! Car passed its mot 🤙 I have a twinair Alfa mito. 1: opinions on the mito and then also the engine. The later ones have 105hp from 875cc. Can you get more power from the same or less displacement in any car? A sub 1L challenge could be fun for taking the Michael from first cheap to insure cars
I started a new GT4 spec II carrier using my Fanatec GT DD Pro. Man it's so awesome to play a childhood game with modern technology. Of course the force feedback isn't the best but the fun is there! And somehow the licences are a lot easier with a modern wheel than an old controller 😂
Agree with the list brings back some good memories. With servicing it seems to be yearly or mileage now with the oil degrading within a year! sounds a bit of a money maker but did wonder if it was just the degrading of the additives in the oil, just change mine every year, air filter on the mileage, same with fuel filter. I think it’s harder to tell full service history these days when people just buy dealer stamps.
Been really enjoying all the content you guys put out, keep up the good work. A question for the Forum.... How much, on average, does adding mods, add to the insurance cost of a car? For various reasons I've never modded any of my cars, but i did once own a Nissan Stagea (estate cars are my favourite body style of car, yes im weird idk why, i just think they're cool). Also, agree on the Elon Musk take, the guys not great (putting it mildly) but the engineers at SpaceX are wizards and that rocket catch was the coolest thing I've seen in ages.
Need For Speed 2 can take 5th on the list. Mclaren F1, Ford GT90, Isdera Commendatore, Jaguar XJ220, Esprit V8. AI Traffic. Tracks with cool shortcuts. All on the PS1. Might be because I'm 36, but that's a true staple of the franchise for me.
Guys, there is one exception to this convertible rule. Peugeot 307cc, which is a lot better looking than the SW or hatch. It is not the prettiest car in the world, but it is a perfect example here I think
Quite a few of the tintop verts went pretty dang hard, like the 307cc (especially in WRC trim), the Astra Twintop, 2nd gen Volvo C70 and the VW Eos that could be had with the 3.6 VR6 and the DSG
21:15 "Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry" is a common tongue twister used to warm up before speaking. But it was also an ad for the Twister ice cream (ruclips.net/video/TcXLtOYzrBw/видео.html)
i just went and watched the hot pursuit trailer, and my mind is blown, both the live action and the regular ones are so ridiculously amazing, ty for the reccomendation
Dear God! I stopped playing videogames before Need for Speed. My era and car games of choice were Spy Hunter, Pole Position II, Outrun, Chase HQ, Wec Le Mans, Geoff Crammond's Formula 1 GP, Ridge Racer, Carmageddon, all the way to Colin McRae II. Basically I stopped playing video game racers when people stopped seeing pixels.
It is MANDATORY for you two guys to play Need For Speed II (1997) on PC and split screen, WITH cheat codes. You have not lived until you have driven (crashed) your Outhouse into your mates Tyrannosaurus Rex.

55:26, In Pakistan Mechanics have convinced people that oil change interval on petrol cars is 5000 kms, which is frankly crazy. but that's become the norm here.
Just staring this, no spoilers. There's only 1 NFS that was goated. That was Carbon. Chilling out on the weekend, portable CD player by my side cranking chooones and bossing the streets. Or I'm just being nostalgic and wasn't any good 😅
Mate totally agree, NFS carbon is one of my all time favorite games. I don’t care if it’s objectively as good as the other NFS games or even other racing games, but my two best friends at the time also had it and played and it was just brilliant. Could not get enough of it
I've played NFS from the very first those videos in the information section of the cars was awesome. Pre Underground High Stakes was my game me and my friend held tornaments in that. The irony is in the High Stakes intro NFS mocked the tuner cars😂.
iRobot has a lot of adverts, but have you seen Transformers: Age of Extinction? You'd be in hospital halfway through the film if you drank every time one came up Also NFS MW'12 was burnout with real cars. Still a good game
The guy in the Saab convertible in hot fuzz is actually the actor who played frank gallagher in shameless. Took me a few times of watching to realise it.
Dunno if you'll see this but the arcade was called NFS GT and it was literally Hot Pursuit 2 but with an arcade front end on it rather than the normal menu. You can actually get it working on PC with some effort, although I'm not sure it's worth it when you could just play the actual game. Edit: You missed off The Run, which was actually not a bad game, and a pretty cool concept with hindsight. Probably held back by the technology of the time.
Thank you for listening to comments and adding photos as you talk about the cars/whatever you’re talking about!!!

My favourite part of I-robot is the Audi a2 taxis all over the background, that was a genius move
id like to see you lads do a top 25 list of all the car games you can get like forza, gran turismo, the crew, project cars, wrc and what ever else you can think of. i reckon that would be a good little rant/chat to do between yourselves!
Lads!
Quick mention for NFS undercover being absolutely goated also
🤣I love how the video is about NFS, but the screen at the back is showing Gran Turismo. Keep up the vids, Love From South Africa
Question for next weeks Podcast:
What is your take on "Project Binky"?
I used to love seeing new episodes every 3~4months, but its been 11years and the last video took over 1year. They spent a year reinventing the wheel to 3D print circuit boards, when they aknowledge in the video itself that they had multiple offers of people helping them prototype a new board properly. AND even that is still not done...
Question that I feel stupid asking:
My dad once told me that in the 70’s you could buy aftermarket sunroofs in some service stations that you would fit at home to your Mk III Cortina during an evening of hacksaws and spot welding.
If I want more power do I:
A - buy a cooper s
B - buy a cooper s engine and engine swap
C - buy a supercharge kit and for to the stock engine
This question can go for any car, fiesta/focus/Clio/BMW ect..
I'm from Scotland, my siblings and I used to play "mini mini nip nip" "yellow car punch" and hold our breathes under bridges and tunnels
Gran Turismo 4! Yes boys! Wonderful game, love the used car aspect of it.
TO THE WINDOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
TO THE WALL
oo-ee oo-ee... oo-ee oo-ee... yeah, so very hard to relay the music in text but if you know.
i can only hear this song when anyone mentions NFS!!
@@bazilboyle8240 Snoop Dogg & The Doors - Riders On The Storm too!
Best episode yet has to be said
Love the podcasts! Great Wednesday commute vibes
Used to plan Porsche 2000/Unleashed at school on my laptop vs my mates using crossover LAN cables connected to our laptops. Most Wanted was also epic.
I think a top 10 engines list would be great or maybe a top 5 (insert country here) engines? Keep up the great work lads
Hi guys. Im from Slovenia where Akrapovic exausts are made. And Edwin said it almost all right 😉
About the A110, if the production number is low enough, they could import it immediately into the US under "show and display". There are many rich people in the US that would love to get a car that never made it there under regular conditions
The original NFS underground will always be my no1 because I must’ve played a million hours on it and completed it each time in almost every car you could use on the game. The soundtrack is iconic as well!
The content is just spot on for most petrolheads!
Next list that I think you would enjoy doing is, top 5 car related movies
Red LORRY, Yellow LORRY, your not supposed to say ''LOLLY'' 😅 Its an old tongue twister, and yes I could easily see Wall's using it for a Twister ad.
Quick tangent with old adds... Can anyone else remember when ''The Red Car & The Blue Car Had A Race''? 😂😂
Rule! Car passed its mot 🤙
I have a twinair Alfa mito.
C-Carbon?? That should be in there?... Sackable offence that! 🤣🤣
Oh my gosh Edwin, I know EXACTLY how you felt before the 512 BB LM was shown 😂 I loved that car from Forza Motorsport 4
Slant-nose Porsche vibes
A convertible question for Will:
What if the convertible is modified and has a proper roll bar/roll cage?
Agree with the list brings back some good memories. With servicing it seems to be yearly or mileage now with the oil degrading within a year! sounds a bit of a money maker but did wonder if it was just the degrading of the additives in the oil, just change mine every year, air filter on the mileage, same with fuel filter. I think it’s harder to tell full service history these days when people just buy dealer stamps.
Am I the only one that loved NFS undercover? Also NFS The Run was elite
That coupe MX5 looks sick!!! Like a baby porsche
This 37:31 all this discussion between the three of you is brilliant so naturally a great laugh 😂 keep it up lads 👍
A convertible is like someone wearing only a hospital gown, where a targa or sunroof is like wearing a bath robe.
Loving the video background. Y’all are wanting me to get a PS3 now play all the games
@@sergh8605 Get a slim one if you do - the fat ones are all dying due to a design fault in the way the GPU was constructed.
I remember showing my friends at the local public library footage of gran turismo 4 and they all thought it was real life car racing footage.
@@ENKTDeeColon_and_randomnumbers I’m not sure about Astra and EOS, I always preferred VXR to the convertible, but Volvo is definitely great choice
@@kamiltwardowski3495 I might be coping on the Astra Twintop since it reminds me of the Astra Bertone Coupe and the Calibra 😅

21:15 "Red Lorry, Yellow Lorry" is a common tongue twister used to warm up before speaking. But it was also an ad for the Twister ice cream (ruclips.net/video/TcXLtOYzrBw/видео.html)
Love the pod guys. Unpopular opinion but one of my fav nfs games was the run. Pretty good story and newer graphics
i just went and watched the hot pursuit trailer, and my mind is blown, both the live action and the regular ones are so ridiculously amazing, ty for the reccomendation
I know it would take time editing, but id loved a few shots of each NFS while talking about it, we are old, we can remember which is which anymore 😅😂
As always another hour saved cheers boys. For what you should rank next pickups! And the caddy best be in there

Could not get enough of it
the apline is a 1.8 not 2.0 like edwin said... still way too much for a renault megane rs in reverse
Ruling this week following the purchase of my 2006 r53 cooper s
Top 10 sounding cars of all times and then top 10 affordable best sounding OOTB.
I've played NFS from the very first those videos in the information section of the cars was awesome. Pre Underground High Stakes was my game me and my friend held tornaments in that. The irony is in the High Stakes intro NFS mocked the tuner cars😂.
Next list: Top 10 arcade driving games (cars and bikes if youre struggling).
iRobot has a lot of adverts, but have you seen Transformers: Age of Extinction? You'd be in hospital halfway through the film if you drank every time one came up
Also NFS MW'12 was burnout with real cars.
I'm an E36 fan, have owned a couple and love the damn things. Definitely want to see that thing done!
