Hey , just wanted to say thank you, followed your vids for finding and jigging for lake trout. Using the contour tip on navionix i managed to find a nice spot within range of my tiny boat and caught my first laker!!!!!!!! I never thought I would target Lakers as I thought you needed downriggers .... Not an option on a 10ft Zodiak! Thank you sir!
Thanks for sharing all your knowledge about lakers. I’m a rookie when it comes to lake trout and get a couple shots at it in Ontario each year. We have gotten a few blind trolling, but I can see the application of your strategy to our lake. Looking forward to my next chance!
Love your vids and baits. I fish lakes in the ADK which are smelt forage based. I have been only able to get them to eat 3 inch gulp grubs. What are your favorite smelt imitation baits?
I finally got out to give jiggin trout a try. Just navionics and 2d sonar. I found the humps, found the fish, could see everything on A-scope and caught a couple. But boy oh boy is it tough to keep the boat over the fish on a windy day. Almost impossible. Thanks for the vids.
Love your videos. I’m fishing on Fourth Lake on the Fulton Chain and there are tons of bait on the bottom in 85’, the deepest area in the lake. So the lake trout don’t appear to leave the deep water to access the bait on the humps. Any tips? I can share video from LVS34. I’ve caught one fish, had lots of lookers. It’s hard to convince them to eat an artificial when there are thousands of the real thing at 85’.
What's the best livescope set up to use on Lake Tahoe ? Can't I just mount transducer under rear of boat , ? , not sure which lives cope package to buy that has everything I need
You can transom mount livescope but it really limits what you can see. I suggest the following. Livescope plus LVS34 with gls10 box, the biggest screen you can afford. And a lithium battery to power it. You can also go to summit fishing and they have premade bundles and shuttles. And you can mount the transducer to the trolling motor
When you are dropping down, and the laker is rising to your lure, when do you start cranking to get them to chase? If you drop down past them, does that ruin the mood? Sometimes if the chase has stalled, I'll drop down, they follow, get them to where they are comfortable again, and start the chase all over.
I start running the instant they engage "if" I'm paying attention that is. I will drop down to bottom if they aren't in the chasing mood and stay down or re start the chase
Sorry after fixing the boat motor and the new roof, and roof not all done yet! I will have to wait till winter after Christmas to get all the different glow in the dark grubs and hooks! Sorry..... But will be all set up for next year! Ha that's if that Evinrude will be running next spring??? 🤦🏼♂
I'm sure a small percentage do, most will burp on the way down or go down at a gentle angle. It's more important that they aren't in the warm water too long and out of the water. They also dont burp when they chase there own normal bait
Id like more around 30 feet. But I have some humps i fish in the spring that are in the middle of the bay that are probably 15 feet. So it depends on how relatively deep it is
Great videos and info. Thank you! I Like the looks of your transducer pole setup. Appears that the cable runs thru the pole. Can you identify the manufacturer?
Gotta love those greasers!
Yessah!!

My Winni kit or the 3 inch swim bait!

You are welcome that is the hardest part unless you have some sort of trolling motor that can do that for a very long anchor and even then
what kind of rod you take ? the longueur and action ...please :0)

Find me on Facebook or insta and share the video. Any bait up shallow? Also what are you using for a lure
Have you ever fished Willoughby lake?
Yes video is coming soon!!
I'm confused , you use the live scope XR , is that the unit I should buy ,
Unless you consitently fish over 120 ft deep I would not suggest livescope XR. Livescope plus works just fine

Bummer
I alway thought that if you pull them up from the deep, that they will die if they don't burp enough?? Is this true?
I'm sure a small percentage do, most will burp on the way down or go down at a gentle angle. It's more important that they aren't in the warm water too long and out of the water. They also dont burp when they chase there own normal bait
What is the minimum depth change for a hump? Is 10’ enough?

@@BendItFishing I just caught a 20llb laker no shitting you
